I have the 9000 as well...it is not yet supported by TeleNav or Garmin but should be shortly...they probably only need to change a few lines of text to point the program in the right direction in terms of accessing the GPS, but the phone is brand new...the insides are slightly different, which is what is causing the location problem...send Garmin an email like I did and tell them to get their asses in gear...in addition to MIDP 2.0, the 9000 also has 3D rendering, unlike the 5600, so you will be open to a whole new range of application/gaming possibilities over time...

great news...another forum member pointed this trick out to me for the 9000...although the old version of Garmin does not work, the new version DOES...but the catch is that you need to do an OTA update of the phone's software....I never even thought to do this given that it is a new phone, but there is an update available...go to tools then find the option to do the OTA update...it changes the software from 1.007 to 1.008 and voila, GPS will work!

There actully is another software update for the 9000 and it's 1.010. It said it's for maintence. You got love being able to do software updates sitting on the couch whatching tv, not having to drop off your phone for a few hours dealing with the mass people at the Sprint store.

Actually I figured that out too. I have 1.10SP and my Garmin still doesnt work. Thats what i thought too. They really need to put a new one out so my application can work. Anybody know where any free emulators are at? j2me of course

Go to **********.com,you wouldn't believe the free games and applications they have. I have over 20 games, and about 5 applications (incl Garmin mobile) that I use from them. Its wonderful. Better than paying that $9.99/month.

the new version definitely works on my phone and others'...erase whatever you have, and reinstall version 2.01...there is no reason it should not work on your phone...I have the 9000 as well and Garmin works as well as it did on the 5600 (except faster in EV-DO areas)...

actually, if it was already on your phone, when you log onto the internet, Garmin should notify you an OTA update is available and try to install it...I think this update would work over the air on the 5600, but did not on my 9000...I, like you, had to get an already updated version of Garmin onto my 9000 and then it worked perfectly...

How does the software update work at home?

When I launched the old Garmin and it connected to vision, it told me a newer version was available and tried to start the download...kind of similar to when you get an update on your PC for antivirus software or some other app...
