First... Is there any way on the phone to make it vibrate when a voicemail is received? As im sure you know, cdma sucks sometimes and it doesnt ring, and when i just get a voicemail, i dont have any notification until i look at the phone later.

2nd- any programs that can make the LED an indicator light if i have a voicemail or text or email?

3rd- a way of using mp3s on my SD card as ringers? they sound soooo much clearer on the phone speaker than qcp ringers, so that would be nice

and lastly. is there a program that would do all of these things including the earpiece volume thing like volumecare does? im running the demo of it right now and i love it, but it would be nice to get something that can do all this stuff so that i dont have to spend as much, this phone was expensive enough! thanks!

I don't have the treo, but just from reading these forums, i believe Butler is what your looking for. I believe i read where you can use your mp3 as ringers and can control the LED. Only thing i'm not sure is the vibrate issue.

(3) I use Ringo Pro and I'm happy w/ it. It's easy to set up and the ringer volume is more than enough for me. It's not free, but I think it's worth the purchase. The websites that sell it (e.g. Handango) also provide a free trial. Definitely give various programs a try before deciding on one. Good luck.

I tried ringo pro, but its just kind of expensive for what it is. $39 dollars i think? i wish treos actually came with half these abilities we are buying utility apps for, pretty lame. Its just buying things that phones should already come with instead of other fun things

I think that Butler is what you need for the Attention Grabber and LED Control. Just don't buy a 6700 if you don't like having to buy extra software. This thing is stripped of all function without $100+ in software to get it closer to the Treo.

ya, i may ahve to try out this butler program, ive heard it mentioned a few times. Is there a better alternative to Ringo, or atleast something just as function but cheaper? its pretty expensive for what it is... just ringtones.

ok, so butler and volumecare (which im running the demo on right now and im pretty happy with it) Will butlet let me use Mp3s as ringtones?

also, unrelated to my post, but when i am in the sound manager testing ringtones.. the volume on the test seems really high, which volume adjustment changes that?

You might also try Phone Technician for ringtones. It's from the same people who make Butler and is less than $10.

i downloaded phone technician but it says "cannot parse Mp3" and "codec missing" when i try to use it. I think it has something to do with the Mp3 player they use with theirs, and it isnt functional with realplayer... i registered with palmone, how do i get pocket tunes for free like ive read about? or any other kind of mp3 player for free?

That was pretty lame... That's like saying that every computer that you buy should already have every program on earth installed.

Sorry

Not much of a difference, but Ringo Pro is $29.
Of course I wish the Treo came w/ more s/w than it did, who wouldn't, but it's impossible to expect Palm to implement all these "fun" utilities. The Treo is meant for business users and not everyday cell phone users. That was their original intent anyway. It seems to have caught on w/ the casual user, which is just icing on the cake for them =).

Butler (https://smartphonetools.treobits.com/cart.php?target=product&product_id=17058&category_id=) or Central (https://smartphonetools.treobits.com/cart.php?target=product&product_id=17343&category_id=) will help with notifications. There are a bunch of different choices for mp3 ringtones, but each has its own features.

Basic:
Phone Technician (https://smartphonetools.treobits.com/cart.php?target=product&product_id=17105&category_id=)
TreoGuard (https://smartphonetools.treobits.com/cart.php?target=product&product_id=17168&category_id=)

Advanced:
Ringo Pro (https://smartphonetools.treobits.com/cart.php?target=product&product_id=17195&category_id=)
mRing (https://smartphonetools.treobits.com/cart.php?target=product&product_id=17093&category_id=)
mp3Ringer (http://www.toysoft.ca/mp3ringer.html)
LightWav Pro (http://www.toysoft.ca/lightwav.html)

Some of these may require an additional mp3 playing software, such as Pocket Tunes (https://smartphonetools.treobits.com/cart.php?target=search&did=5846).

That was pretty lame... That's like saying that every computer that you buy should already have every program on earth installed.

Sorry

Computers come with most necessary utilities needed to use them most effectively. Volumecare should NOT be a program we need to buy, the phone shouldnt be too quiet. MP3 ringtones SHOULD be a standard feature at this point on phones, especially ones that already can play Mp3s like the 650. which is what i implied, but thank you for taking my post out of context when we are talking about cell phones, not computers.

Computers come with most necessary utilities needed to use them most effectively. ..... when we are talking about cell phones, not computers.

Doesn't the Treo come with "most" utilities to run them effectively? Besides, I thought volume care was a rip off. Trying to get that thing to balance out was like pulling teeth.

Oh, and we ARE talking about computers. They just HAPPEN to have phones embedded.

Thanks
