yea so this phone is probably Sanyos best phone out
its rugged, speakerphone, and looks good
one of sanyos best designs yet
9000 is nice but i liked the 5600 design better. 9000 didnt deliver in the 70mb of memory but 24 is still good. 7500 is nice but lack of good screen kills it. 3100 looks to be a big seller also.
I STILL WANT A CLEAR EARPIECE!!!

I agree that the 4930 looks nice. I'm sure it will sell very well. I actually really like the looks and the feel of the 9000 better than the 5600. I think the 5600 design was star treky and the 9000 is more normal.

Lol i still believe that all manufacturers should get the main part of the phone right. Even if they have a boat load of features

I agree exspecially the $600 pda cell phones. Treo 650 had a lot of issues with the sound quality and you have to pay for a app to hear better. bs
Does the 4930 in fact have the same earpiece from the 4920?

Is the 4930 the direct line descendant of the legendary 4900? How's it compare for signal and battery?

Guess there is no need to buy an extended battery for the 4930.

I'm trying to decide whether to buy a 4930 for $50 with a two year agreement or buy a 4900 on ebay for about $50. Before I go with the 4930, I want to make sure that the reception and battery are as good as the 4900. Can anyone confirm or deny this or offer any other advice? Thanks

my guess is that the 4930 will have even better reception and battery than the 4900, thus it is an upgrade of the same model.

If the reception is close to the 9000 the 4930 will be improved from the 4900. The 9000 has reception in spots that I've never had reception before.

Well, I bit the bullet and bought a 4900 on ebay for $43 incl. shipping. I know it's a tried and true phone, and I didn't have to sign any contracts, so I'm still a free agent. I don't know if I'll be in the country in two years, so I just wasn't prepared to commit. I could have had the 9300 for $75 and a one year contract, but for a $30 savings and no strings attached, I think I came out ahead.

Does anyone know if the SMS works like the Vi-2300 series where you can send SMSs while on the phone and have the suggestions pop-up or is it like the 8200/4920 where you can't send SMS messages while in a call.

Oops! I meant the 4930, not 9300! Congrats to those who did get the 4930, though, it looks pretty solid.
