I just bought a data cable to use with my 5300 and I downloaded bitpim and it doesn't work. Snapmedia doesn't work either. If I plug the data cable to my usb port and then to my phone, my computer will reconize it but for some reason bitpim and snapmedia won't.

Those are some of the few errors I get.
Please, if you know of ANYTHING that I could possibly be doing wrong, please let me know.

I'm no expert on this by a long shot, but my I.T. guy just uploaded all the info from my 8100 to my laptop and after I got the USB cable, the upload didn't work and we couldn't figure out why. He realized, after running some tests, that my phone did not have the latest software upgrades on it that were available for that phone. He updated the phone online and the USB upload worked like a charm.
Not sure if that will help you or not. If not, sorry.

I use BitPim & Snapmedia on my laptop, and you have to manually select the port the phone is on. Even though the computer will find the phone, your 2 programs will not. Keep selecting ports until you find the one your phone is on.
