I own the 5600 and I was happy to hear they made a new phone, then I thought about it. Why buy the Sanyo 9000? It's prety much the same phone.

Night photos still suck, just not as much.
No blue tooth

If it had BT then it's a major plus. Sure it has EVDO but, it's not going to be available in my area for a while.

I'm going with Samsung. BT is more important.

I'll disagree. The people who wear those earpieces all the time look ridculous. Samsung's look cool but that's about it. If you own a 5600 then the 9000 was not made for you. It's made for people (like me) who have a 5500, 7400 or 8300 and want the latest Sanyo handset. I found a 5600 at CompUSA and was ready to purchase it but at $429 there is no way. The 9000 is $50 less and has camera improvements and EVDO, a no brainer here.

EV-DO = Better Audio and Video quality, plus you can use it as a modem (legally) and get EV-DO speeds with you laptop or computer w/o the purchase of a Connection Card.

Really now? So they're bringing back a #777 type connection with the new evdo phones? Thats a big selling point. Where did you hear that steb0ne?

Are you wanting to get a samsung bluetooth ev-do phone? If so I'm not sure if it's worth it since ev-do won't be available in your area for awhile.

I can understand why some 5600 users wouldn't want to upgrade to a 9000 because it's pretty much has the same design as the 5600. I have the 9000 and I'm thinking on trying the 940 just for the cool twisting display and for something different. I know after the coolness fades away after a month or so I'll regret not having a QVGA. The camera on the 9000 has improved but not as much as we all wanted. Them main reason I got the 9000 is because it has EV-DO and a QVGA. I think it makes more sense to get a ev-do phone with a qvga rather than a ev-do phone without a qvga and bluetooth so you can take advantage of the ev-do speeds. When I had the 5600 I was always deleting stuff to make more room. I think the 9000 has double the internal memory as the 5600. The 9000 ui is a nice improvement from the 5600.

Ummm. It has been posted a few times in different threads. Sanyo and Samsungs websites also state this change.
