OK, I know it's probably to early for any real solid specs/info on this upcoming Sanyo handset, I've been eying the 9000 pretty closely, but have read in a few threads to hold off, and wait for this "Sanyo Flagship" phone that's coming up on the horizon. If this phone is that much better, I would gladly wait another couple months or so if this phone is worth the wait. Any info on this 5700 would be greatly appreciated, and wondering if anyone else is holding out for it.

yea i want to get the 9000 but it really isnt enough to upgrade from my 5600 though that 64mb of memory sounds so nice. not to mention i've been with the 5000 line since joining sprint starting with the 5300 then 5500 and now my 5600 so the 5700 is my obvious choice and i feel they are the premium of sprint phones, i love them to death. ANY info (especially release date) would be a god send :)

Hmmmm...perhaps it was mis-identified as another Sanyo phone that is coming out soon (cough...ssaifull...7500 thread...cough)? Sorry, but that's about as clear as I can get...

I would hoppe it would look better than that. Besides that picture clearly shows the numbers 75 instead of 57. I think i'll hold off this rumor until more solid information is revealed.

Notice how on the phone itself it doesn't say anything about it being a 7500...of course, it never would have the model number on the front of the phone anyway...but this wouldn't be the first time an advance sheet came out with the wrong phone pictured...

That phone (7500/5700) had a very cheap mat-grey finish plastic that screamed low cost! I would hope a "Flagship" phone from Sanyo would look A LOT more higher end than that.

I currently have a 5400 and am waiting for a Blue Tooth, High End Sanyo with large screen. Those other Samsungs just aren't cutting it for me. Screens look smaller than my 5400 (2.1" diag.)

i agree, the phone picture that i originally posted does NOT look like a super high-end phone, like the 5700 is being trumped up to be. Definitely was expecting a cutting-edge design, bigger screen... basically an unbelievable package delivering performance and great looks for the 5700.

I am exactly in the same boat... except the 5300 was my first phone 3 years ago, and I still have it. I am really ready for an upgrade. I want to see if Sprint will lower prices on the PV plans, or at least throw in some free SMSs for God sake. I mean if you pay 25 bucks for Power Vision, at least 500 SMS should be included with that. How many people are going to be able/willing to shell out those prices for something a lot of people are getting free right now? I just can't justify the price right now for myself... holding out hope they will come to their senses.

I was really impressed with the launch price of the 9000... it's much lower than the 5000 series has generally been. I wonder if it's a lure for the new EV-DO service so they can get a lot of users early to spread word-of-mouth. So I wonder if the 5700 will be at a similar price point?

I had the 5400 for month as a loner from a friend between my god awful 8920 and the 5600, That phone was AWESOME in terms of reception, durability, style and functionality. I never understood why Sanyo would think to offer the 2300 as something similar, if they just put SMS on the 5400, it would be a top seller.

If I could make a phone:

I'd take the screen from a VM4500
The camera from an A800
The speaker from a 5600
The UI from the older Samsung (the silver/blue camera phone before the A800)
A flip screen like the 940 BUT! Both screens would be the same size, giant screen for external & internal
EVDUH!
NO READY LINK! Do you really need to contact somebody in one second?
MP3 and MM
Would have 128 internal memory
Naturally a MiniSD slot
BT! BT! BT! ACTUAL BT! HELLO SONY? BLUE TOOTH! It's not new, it's been out for a while.
Instead of the motion detector and bongo noises of the 940, UNIVERSAL REMOTE CONTROL! Hows that for a feature? Lost the remote? Surf the net and get the code for your TV/DVD/etc.

Huge phone book, separated by folders. Friends, family, bros, hoes, business, etc. More then 9 speed dials. One touch camera, one touch video.

AND WOULD NOT BE SILVER!

so basically a Toshiba VM4050 with BT, mp3 with 128mb internal memory, A800 camera with EV-DO to upload those pics and miniSD slot? the toshiba had a beautiful, large screen with a great, customizable UI.

Hello.. this is a 5700 thread...not a 7500 thread. The 5700 and 7500 are 2 completely different phones!
