Ok, so you buy let's say the Sanyo 9000 which I understand has EVDO....now are you inclined to have to subscribe to EVDO or is it an option. I understand you have to pay a little more.

this same topic has been debated many a times, so I'll save you the trouble of searching...basically from what everyone has come to agreement with, the people who jump onto evdo asap will not have to wrry about anything, but afterwards, they will have to switch to an EVDO plan to have an EVDO phone

deval,

Wow, I should look into EVDO more, I thought it would all be as simple as vision...
I gotta check out this Power Vision plan you speak of! :)

Well, why would you want an EV-DO handset without the benefits of the service?
You can have an EV-DO handset or card and not sign up for Power Vision, but then your only using normal Vision and being charged extra for it. Doesn't make much sense does it?
For the extra $5 a month you're getting higher speed, Sirrius, live t.v., etc........things you won't get and yet you'll pay more for if you don't get the plan.
If you take Power Vision, you get EV-DO service in the areas it's available but you still can use normal Vision in those areas that aren't EV-DO at no cost.

I think people are happy with their unlimited SMS for free

Exatly, If unlimited SMS for 5 dollars with a vision plan was still offered, switching to a Power Vision plan wouldnt be as bad, but paying another 15 dollars for Unlimited SMS is rediculous, thats what I am paying now for Unlimited web, pics, videos, and sms. 40 dollars just for Data and Smsing on top of the plan cost is a bit much.
I really hope they come back with 5 dollars for unlimited with vision that would be nice.

that might not be cost effective...I did like the $10 vision
