What in feth does this mean? I would assume it's a Sprint issue, but what, exactly, is a "size mismatch?"
Does anyone know why this problem is happening, and only with images?
Thanks.

Yes! Please someone help!
I haven't used focus in about 3 months. I come back and now I can't get anything to my phone. Everything is Data Error 904. Any insight or suggestions would be appreciated!!
PS. I get the same thing with the rumkin uploader.

I am now getting the same error...
i just got a new 7400 so i was wondering if that was the issue.. but it seems this has just started for other people also
the primary time i get it is when i try to upload wallpaper but i havent tried to upload much else yet
FuriosoShadow

I only get it when uploading .jpg files. I've already succesfully uploading 5+ .qcp files, and Tetris. So it seems like the problem is either a) smaller files (the .qcps are all over 40 Kb), or b) image files.
Anyone heard anything from Sprint about this?

Here's a question: Are you all using a 7400? I can upload images just fine with Focus, T1mmy & Gtoal. But I have read about 7 confirmed 7400 users having the exact same problem.
omg me too...it says somthing about insufficent memory
Well, in your case, it's probably because you don't have enough internal memory left in your phone. Most likely.

Looks like its only sanyos.... 2300, 7400, 5600, no confirmation yet on the 8300. On the LG 535 its kinda wierd. If you already have your image sized (176x220) it will show up but with white bars on the side. If you do the auto resize to 176x220 it works fine. On the sanyos none of the above works at all. Somewhere the image size is getting skewed in the system. Its probably an internal error at Sprint which will most likely be corrected in a few days. Otherwise if you got a sanyo use t1mmy.net for images for the time being, it will work perfect with the sanyos.

Yep, t1mmy.net's uploader is working great. Thanks man.

I have a Samsung A840 and I've been getting the same error 904 with every uploader/site for jpgs too. Any app/game gives me the 905 error. Only thing that has worked is ringers. I'll try buying a game legit and seeing if this is something I can complain to sprint about.

I have put many different wallpapers and ringers on my mm8300, but today when I tried, I have gotten this error also. Could it be a temporary problem with Sprint? I hope it gets resolved soon.

This seems to be a spreading problem. People all over are reporting that they are having problems donwloading content on Sprint phones. JADs and GCDs have stopped working, giving mismatched content errors. Does anyone inside at Sprint have any idea what changed in the past few weeks?
Glenny7467
10-25-2005, 12:56 PM
Yes the image size is getting skewed when trying to connect straight to the temporary url on a server... They probably changed the protocol, which doesnt mean they are blocking anything. You just have to put the link on a temporary wap page or even post it on a page to view on the browser first.

I have no idea what you just said. Is there anything the downloaders can do on their end to get around the problem?

I have an MM-7400 and am having problem downloading jpg and png files. I've even set up the gcd file on my own web server and have verified that the GET file for the image is requesting the same number of bytes as in the Content-Size header and that it matches the size of the image. I wasted 1.5 hours on this, and I'm pissed. Grr.

Okay, sprint`s proxy/gateway is now definitely compressing images. I hooked my cell phone up to my computer using DUN and set Internet Explorer to use the same HTTP gateway as my phone and my 5059 byte jpg got compressed to a 1548 byte jpg. That's unacceptable. The only way I could get around it was to put the gcd file as well as the content on SSL using HTTPS. Grr.
That's 3 HOURS of my time wasted because sprint wanted to make changes without telling everyone. What kind of crap is that for them to compress all the images that we're going to be seing on web sites so that they look like utter crap to save on bandwidth? And not even tell us? I'm trying to figure out how I can disable the proxy server/gateway in my phone to bypass this stupid proxy server.
Maybe they can move the focus uploader to SSL?

Good diagnosis plague, you definitely need to share your results on the focus threads. (or create a new one). Don't feel bad, I'm sure I wasted at least 3-4 hours tring to upload different resolution pictures on different uploaders, with different web browsers, ect ect.

I actually feel worse that sprint wasted the time of both of us. :)
Anyway, it looked like this was the "official" thread for this problem. I could be wrong.

This is an 8300 confirmation. I used rumkin to upload a jpg and it gave me the 904. I can't use focus because it keeps prompting me to log in when I am so I don't know what it is. I'm going to try a number of different file sizes. I'll keep you all posted.

This is a Samsung A740 confirmation. Rumkin gave me the same 904 confirmation, and Focus will not recognize me as logged in. I also got a 905 error, mismatched attribute? Dunno what that is.
I had to go old skool, and actually use the uploader that I paid for before I found this site, heh.

Samsung A620 user. Started getting error 904 on all picture downloads a few days ago. It's got to be a Sprint thing cause I haven't changed any of my settings. I've tried all kinds of things and nothing works. I have been able to dowload pictures from my Sprint Picture account. Nothing else works! What's happening to us?????

Hi, this was posted from a member in the sprintusers.com forums and is supposed to correct the problem:
Got this info on why the problem for wallpaper is taking place from www.rumkin.com
Rumkin Forum / Phone Uploader / error code 904
Hey Guys!
We've discovered the problem:
Sprint changed their gateway to a new package due to the EVDO rollout + nextel!
All that you have to do is specify:
Cache-Control: no-transform
Tell your favorite sites/etc that they need to add this to their web server setup!!
in your headers. We were having major issues with m2stream and Pod2Mob and this fixed them all. It helps to have friends at Sprint!
And a big thanks to "plague" for hooking us up with the free uploader on SSL...it works perfectly & fixes the problem! Thanks!!

Well, I'm not sure what that means?? I need a little help. I have read this this thread and tried the various uploaders, none work. I have a 7400 and no matter what I do I get the mismatch error. (also, is there a good freeware program specifically for resizing wallpapers and such?, found no good ones...) thanks!

I just attempted to upload 2 photos onto my phone through the Yahoo!Photos application that is legit and that I actually bought from Sprint. The first one worked, and the second one gave me the Error 904. I tried a few more photos, and the 904 recurred. Since it worked just 2 minutes before I got the error, and since I used a legit application, there must be something screwy about the server that's sending the pic. Any thoughts?
Focus has been fixed - thanks for your patience and please report any further issue...
