when i run hotsync, and then open my palm desktop program, nothing is in there. it looks like palm desktop was never used, which it wasnt. How do i get it to syncronize? Also, ive had this phone for less than 30 days, and it has a couple issues and im goign to exchange it for another one, is there going to be any problem with syncing the info on my computer with the replacement phone? any special instructions for that to perhaps save the ringtones and everything so that the replacement will have all the stuff this one has? any help would be greatly appreciated, i searched and couldnt find anything to help.
thanks!

What operating system do you use? If it's Mac OS X, then you need to "enable Palm OS Syncing" in the Devices menu of iSync.

i am running windows XP, and none of my contacts or anything show up on palm desktop after i sync it. whats the point of syncronizing it if nothing shows up? i have no idea how ot get this thing to work, and the manual that comes with the phone didnt help either. :(

1. What is the user name on your Treo? Go to the Treo's hotsync screen... what name shows up at the top of the screen? Next open Datebook or Address Book in Palm Desktop on your PC... does the same user name show up at the top of the datebook or address book? If not, then you probably have more than one user name in Palm Desktop (left over from an earlier PDA perhaps?) and you just need to select the correct User name (i.e. the one that matches the user name on your Treo) at the far right side of the Palm Desktop toolbar.
2. If you already have Palm Desktop set to the correct User name, then in your Treo's address book, are your contacts listed under "unfiled"? Or do you have them separated by "business", "personal", etc.? In Palm Desktop's address book, make sure you've selected "View All Addresses" at the top of the address book.
I hope this helps.
I am syncing both my wife and my Treo 600s with MAC OS 9 and Palm software 4.2.1. on 2 older powerbooks. This isn't even supported on the website.
An issue I had, and finally figured out, was that the conduits hadn't installed fully.
I was having the same issue - a Hot Sync would complete, but no data was going between the Treo and the computer. Once I got all of the conduits installed - Bingo.
I have no clue in terms of XP where the conduits reside, but maybe this is something to look into.
