** This phone is not available in all markets, most affiliate markets will carry it, corporates most likely will not**
Phone goes retail on oct.14/15 depending on the market.
Dimensions
1.8" x 3.3" x 1.0"
Weight
3.9oz
Basic Features
Messaging, games, ringers (true MP3 ringers), Screen savers, vision capable. T9 predictive text, voice activated dailing, voice/memo recorder up to 180 seconds, calender, to do list, calculator, stopwatch, alarm clock, 2.5mm headset jack, 4.5 hours digital continous talk time, dual-band/tri-mode
Cool features
Video ringtones, Large 262K-Color TFT Display, 1.8" main display, decent size monochrome external display. 12mb internal memory, Built in FM radio (requires headset), speakerphone.
I have only been able to play with a non active DEMO so I can't comment on call quality. The screen is bright and a very good size, the controls are very responsive. The keypad seems a little strange at first but is easy to navigate. The external screen, while not color, is quite large and easy to read. The phone seems a bit cheap in some aspects. The chrome volume and speakerphone controls on the side of the phone seem very cheap, and I expect that they would scratch easily. The 12mb of internal memory is a plus, so is the ability to play true MP3 ringtones. The phone seems a little smaller than the 2300, but a little larger than the 840. Signal reception is pretty good. I usually get 2-3 bars on my 4920 in the mall. The 3155i gets a steady 4 bars. The phone does use a special charger. It is essentially the same as a regular Nokia charger but is slightly smaller. In fact the phone ships with a normal Nokia charger and includes an adaptor to use with the phone.
Pros:
Size, internal memory, MP3 ringtones, video ringtones, FM tuner, external display, battery life , speakerphone, signal reception. Adaptor can turn an old nokia car charger into a car charger for this phone. LARGE extendable antenna. This thing is so long that when I extend the antenna on my 4920 and the 3155 at the same time they become equal in length!
Cons:
Monochrome outer display, Headset required for FM radio, no camera, not Multimedia capable, no Ready-Link, having to use an adaptor means that a standard charger will not work (without the adaptor).
Now on to pricing. At most affiliate reatil locations the phone will be FREE, no partial mail in rebates. As a bonus you do get a $40 AMEX gift card in the mail, and you are entered to win 2 tickets to the Superbowl automatically. (MSRP for retail $179, i have heard that indirects will have it for $219, and maybe a BOGO deal for $29.99. I cannot confirm this as I do not work at an indirect.)
Final Word:
It's free, you get a $40 AMEX card, you get entered to win tickets to the superbowl, it is vision capable, great value in my opinion.
