Hmmm... I think you can do it with Winamp in the Options/Output Settings... or something like that. I don't have it installed on the computer I'm on right now so I can't be sure, but that's the free way to do it I think.

Emphasis on "I think."

Skeeter,
I suggest using dbPoweramp music converter ... free trial and only $14.00 for the full fledge software ... http://www.dbpoweramp.com/ ...

you can set all kinds of parameter's.

great program louie, thanks

now i wonder about the filesize. the output i get is about 118kbs. my qcps are about 40-50. i know that that will probably be too big of a file. is there a way to make it smaller, or do u just have to have a lot of space on your phone when u make mp3s for a pm-325?

Cut the file to 24 seconds, set the bitrate to 16kbps (16000 bits per second) and the frequency to 24kHz (24000 Hertz). Then the file should be < 50k after you save it. Hover your mouse over the file and because you have dbpoweramp installed, it will have a yellow balloon popup which will show you all the details about the ringer!

Then your phone (VM4050 or PM325) can upload the .MP3 (named as .MID).

How do I change the bitrate using dbPower Amp? It says converting 1 file to: which option do I choose?
