I just got a new phone (LG325) and went to download the email and webivewer from reqwireless. I guess they are no longer available. What ther applications can I get for my phone that are similar to these? They are still downloaded on my Sanyo 2300 ... is there a way for me to get them off and put them on my new phone?

I have emailviewer, but not webviewer...yes, you are correct, the company has stopped selling new products, and really aren't supporting the old ones other than password resets...I have been looking everywhere for webviewer, but it cannot be registered since reqwireless requires the program to dial into their server the first time to authorize registration...look on **********.com...you might be able to find the jar/jad files for these programs...then upload using gtoal.com/pcs...you'll need to upload both the jad and jar files at the same time in the midlet upload area...you then go to the reqwireless website and request a new password in place of your old one...they have a system that autogenerates them...hopefully this should work...

For Email: Try a program called "BlueInbox"

For Web: Try a program called "PocketWeb" . Pocketweb has a monthly fee, and in some cases isn't as nice, but in other cases, it's much nicer (it's MUCH faster.)

Ive got the jad and jar files for emailviewer 4.0. I found it at my handago acct. I used my webviewer register code at the key exchange, and it said its a good key no need to exchange. So i used that key on emailviewer also and it worked. In the past it would have unregistered webviewer.

Did you own licenses to both programs, or just to webviewer? I realize you had a pword to webviewer that worked on emailviewer, but had you purchased a key to emailviewer at any point in the past, or did you just download it and the key to the other program ended up working for both of them?

I purchased both a long time ago. I lost the emailviewer key so when i got a new cell i couldnt register it. If i used the key for webviewer then it unregistered webviewer, but this time when i did the key exchange it said key was still good, so i tried it on emailviewer and it worked without unregistering webviewer.

I have been using the latest version of opera mini, and it is definitely a cool program, although I believe Webviewer does lay out pages a little better for use on a small screen...also, opera mini runs everything through a server when you are on the web, which might make people anxious about accessing bank sites, etc...webviewer does not do this...

Yes, if you would like Opera Mini, just grab it from me (thanks to... I-can't-remember-his-name linking me to the backed up files so I could save them for us all). No need to go to ********** (you can thank me later).

I agree with a_c_s, but then again I would never, ever access bank sites from my phone. I rarely do it from my own computer, actually, but that's only because I'm paranoid from my bank account being emptied TWICE and my bank did nothing about it. It's cool--Laurs is taking them to court.

Opera is far from being a secure connection and, even with EV-DO, load times are pretty slow. Though, before the All-American version came out, it was nothing like this so hopefully after the excitement dies down speeds will be a bit better for those of us who will continue to use it a lot.

Disappointed I never got a chance to try Webviewer. I kept putting it off and then, of course, it becomes unattainable.

For Email: Try a program called "BlueInbox"
BlueInbox is unable to access my BlueInbox account in order to download account settings and contacts. Did you simply skip that part and set everything up manually?

EDIT: Actually, that's impossible. The program gives me no way to set up an email account manually. Everything has to be done through their Web site, which isn't working.

EDIT: A power-cycle of the phone got things working, mostly. But the connection to their server is quite flaky.

You could also try movamail, but it is very expensive compared to emailviewer.

$30 a year doesn't seem that bad, actually. That's like $2.50/month. And the app looks really nice.

I might consider getting that.

...And there's a 60 day trial. That's nice.

I just downloaded movamail and the text is extra tiny almost impossible to read.

Sprint's Business Connect Web site (bc.sprintpcs.com) has a J2ME application for the Sanyo 5600 that also runs well on the Sanyo 9000.

I tried it as well with just my GMail account. Like you said, text is really small. Also, it shows ALL of my mail, including everything that's been archived. So, according to Movamail, I have 276 messages in my Inbox.

...Not as nice as I was hoping the app would be :(
