Looks like a lot of us are looking at the new PDA's coming out and some are considereing the Treo650 for the first time. Was wondering what you may do in the area of choices since owner reviews are rolling in.

Went from a Treo 650 to a 6700. Loved the faster data but, in the end, my Treo won out for doing things like (duh) making a simple phone call. Big PITA on the 6700 without paying $39 for Microsoft Voice Command. Anyway, my Treo and I are together again and happy.....for now....

Keeping the Treo 650 for now, but that 6700 sure is tempting me !

no links.

if you have a newsreader program (e.g. newsbin) and access to newsgroups then look for alt.binaries.warez.pocketpc.

I'm very happy with my PPC6600 - and will be even happier once the EVDO upgrade is rolled out. I've had it now for 6 months and it's perfect for me - large screen for GPS, great reception, push email, great web browsing (with Thunderhawk). - sheureka

The thought of a Treo running Symbian has goose bumps for me.

I went to this newsgroup and there were not any threads in the newsgroup.

That's odd, I have 1800 posts listed when I go there.

Someone posted 383 programs on 10/5.

Either you're not going back further enough for the dates, your NG server's retention is poor, or your NG server is no good (try using a pay server, they're the best).

Dunno.

I just budged today and ordered a 6700. I was trying to get one off of ebay for at least 100$ under retail but them guy are paying almost 700$ some days for them. I almost had one for 530$ but they just keep outbidding me so i said forget it, I'll just use the 75$ rebate and get one. I won't qualify for the 150$ rebate till June.

I have a ppc-6601 for 3 months, which I've been quite happy with. Considered a 6700, but I like the 6601's bigger screen.

Just picked up a Samsung i500 for my Pioneer Plan. Very nice form factor, though I still stumble a bit with the OS, coming from the Windows CE background.

I probably won't upgrade until a suitable replacement for the i500 is offered, i.e. a small, very functional flip/clamshell PDAphone. Nothing else currently meets this and nothing obvious on the horizon (although a few GSM phones come close)...

I'd get a Treo 700p. The only thing I really wish my 650 would have is EVDO.

I am planning on keeping my Treo650 for now. But, that could change in a minute if we could get a decent phone running Symbian. I could careless if it came from Palm, Moto, Sanyo or Samsung. I would be pretty intrigued by the Nokia 6638 if it ever came out.

No I use various pay servers. Admittedly, retention now probably won't go back as far as the 5th though it all depends on your provider. The good thing about that group is people repost a lot and there tends to be "floods" every couple of weeks, so just keep an eye out. it's a busy/active group though.

I'm gonna get a TREO 650 next month, but I will upgrade to the 700 when it comes out.
