two questions:
1. sms?
2. these can be applied to our EXISTING calling plans, just as if they were regular Vision plans? i.e. we don't have to change our current calling plans?

I doubt these vision plans include SMS either. They like that extra 15 bucks a month new customers are paying.

ok...so whereas i am now paying 20 bucks for a: good old unlimited vision (including pics, vid, sms) and Mobitv, i would under the new Power Vision be paying double - 25 for the best Vision pack plus 15 more for unlimited sms.

ouch.

For those of us with original $10 grandfathered Vision: Can we keep our regular Vision and use it on EVDO?

I realize we wouldn't get the streaming news & radio channels of $15 Power Vision, but at least we could surf the web at EVDO speeds. Plus we can keep our grandfathered features like Pic/Videomail and U/L SMS.

I've noticed that people who have bought the 6700 have been able to do this. Has the start date for Power Vision been announced? if they're going to force us to "upgrade" on the start date, maybe I'll buy a 6600 now and get grandfathered with my old Vision plan...

I had EV-DO going on my 6700 for a couple of weeks with no plan change. That's all I would do is the ESN swap. I don't want Sprint TV or any of that other stuff. I just want to surf and download FAST

Actually, I just want a Samsung A920... EV-DO'd be really nice, but its not worth $20/mo for me... I already have unlimited picture mail and unlimited vision for free included as part of my plan.

im wondering the same. i'm a ground floor vision plan holder with vision "fused" with my min plan. its not an add-on is a limb! I was thinking of upgrading to a 6700. I got the new phone bug and its hurting bad. I got to do something in the next week. I'm pretty sure EV-DO is in my area.

Like Deval said anyone that simply does an ESN swap to an EV-DO phone will probably be "grandfathered" into using EV-DO without having to pay anything extra but there may be a cut off point so after a while if you switch to an EV-DO phone, expect to add Power Vision to your plan. I can't wait to get my hands on the 9000 cause all the towers in my city have been upgraded to EV-DO. :D

I'm still a little fuzzy on this cutoff point...

Do you mean that perhaps if we do an ESN swap say... in November it will grandfather us -- but if we do one in 8 months it won't?

Power Vision is more then just Sprint TV, there is the Sprint Music Store, On Demand and Sirius Satellite Radio. With Sprint Music Store you can buy full songs download them to your phone and also download a second copy of the same song to your computer, two for the price of one. And with On Demand you can get driving directions, watch movies, as well as a number of other things and pay per item. And the Sprint TV is live tv not prerecorded. Power Vision is alot more then regular Vision.

ESN is what basically identifies a SINGLE phone (no other phone has the same number).........to SWAP it, is to replace the current ESN/phone with another ESN/phone.

I just received a 6700 as an insurance replacement and I had an old grandfathered plan. I was told that I could keep that plan, with Vision, but that the EVDo would not work. I would have just 1X.

After speaking to the rep, they were able to add the Power Vision for free, the only difference is that I went from unlimited text messages to 100/month. I could buy more (100 for $5) if I need them.

I am going to try it.

I donno, sometimes your just really bored and there's no TV around, so you use your phone.

But alot of it has to do with the WOW factor, others will see what you can do with your phone and they'll be jealous, and that makes some of us happy.....

Question:

when you watch TV on an external screen, does it conserve data transmissions or does it just shrink the full sized stream?

was showing a Verizon rep my 940 next to his a970. he was trying to show me his vcast. when he started he said it take some time for the initial start up but once there its pretty quick. while his 970 was connecting i pulled out my 940 and launched the media player. i was streaming fox sports while his 970 was still connecting then the phone finally made it to the vcast flix and pix online menu. he was impressed and asked me how long the clips were on my sprint phone  i will no longer complain about the launch time of the media player ever again.

both phones have the 300 minutes national free incoming plans
unlimited PTT/ and free N & W starting at 9PM

Now iam trying to replace the I930 with the ppc-6700

now iam all confuse about all this power/vision thing

the 920 its power
the 6700 its vision

Yes, get the $15 dollar plan for the 6700. Anything else is frankly a waste of money because you will get exactly the same thing on the 6700 no matter which plan you choose.

EVDO is per line. You can add whichever plan fits your needs best for the 920. As far as I know, this is line specific and not related to the account overall unless you have some kind of deal with Retentions to discount the Power Vision on the second phone.

SprintUsers.com was created in January 2002 as a resource for users of Sprint PCS products and services to learn about and share information. We have cll phone reviews, Cellular Accessories, Downloads, PDA reviews, Ringtones, all of the latest Sprint PCS news and information, an area where you can find help in creating a ring tone or custom image for you phone, and so much more.
