Quite simple. active sync and drop files in the sounds folder for ringtones. and drop pics in home folder

can you take pictures from the phone and do that same thing?

ive tried my damnedest to take a pic and set it as an id for a contact but....no cigar...or am i just a complete moron?

You can't add ID pictures on the 930

yes you can...try a litle program called photocontacts2.0
