Has anyone tried the NearHere application, downloadable from Sprint to some phone models? This Web page

http://www.wavemarket.com/nearhere.html

implies that the app should be GPS-enabled. Is it really?

never heard of it, but sounds interesting. Let us know if you find more.

I would assume it has to be GPS. how else could they know where you are.

The app isn't GPS enabled. Just downloaded it myself. It is a nice app for $2.99 a month.

I've used it and as far as I can tell, it is NOT GPS enabled...the way it knows where you are is that it asks for your address...same as mapquest or Vindigo...there are no "locate me" options that I saw...Garmin GPS does the same thing as nearhere with its business finder and it is obviously GPS enabled (plus the database of businesses is better as well in Garmin)...of course, Garmin also costs more...
