i was under the impression that web-based text messages are free of charge, but i noticed on my most recent bill that i am being charged for text-messages (i don't send text messsages from phone, only sprintpcs website)....is that right, i could swear that i remember reading on this forum that web-based text messages are free??

I think web-based were free back in the Shortmail days, but now any SMS that goes out from your number or comes in to it will cost money. I think.

The simple way around this is to use another website to send your text msgs. Like this one (SU)... There are a number of others as well...

kind of a highjack Question, does the 15 dollar vision pack cover SMS?

kind of a highjack Question, does the 15 dollar vision pack cover SMS?The old one, yes (100 SMSs), but the new one (after July 2005), no... (but its $10/mo Vision (unless picture pack, etc), and $5/mo for 100SMSs... no d/l credit)

I called last month to activate an old phone till I got something new and the cs person said oh your on our old vision plan do you want me to upgrade you, it's $5 less well I called last night to activate my new phone and find out that sure I'm on the "new" vision but I've lost my $5 credit and my text messaging. Anyways, I now know to not change anything over the phone with cs unless I've called them and know what I want.

I don't use it much and best I can figure it's 10 cents if you don't have the $5/100 plan. Does anyone know if this is right?

I would call them back and tell them to switch it back to how it was. Or email e-care
