In case you have not Googled anything recently from your PCS Vision, you need to take another look. Since 2 weeks ago, Google has made MAJOR changes by 1. a new .url with new search engines, and more importantly yesterday 2. You now can actually view HMTL text. YES YOU CAN VIEW IMAGES AND PHOTOS OFF FROM YOUR GOOGLE SEARCH RESULTS.

The same webpages you have been viewing in beta format with NAV menus have now been replaced with the same text but with a level + or - bar indicating the menue selections. Also, Google will tell you the pages have been translated into an easier to read mobile format.

This only works on the first internet option, but not for images search yet. Anyone else can comment, please do so cause I love it.

Good find sanyo Geek. Google makes improvements just when i had given up on googles wap portal. I have always used webviewer whenever i want to find something with google because the links were useless previously. :D

Can you post a link please?

You have to go into your phone and access the web to find out. Go into Search for Google and you will see the radical difference.

I forgot to add that under the old crappy beta version, all fields are disabled and you could not enter anything (e.g. filling out any application). The new Google with HTML coding, actually allows this critical feature so you can perform this task from your phone this way, instead of using the "Go To .url" feature.

I don't see what either of you are talking about, either Google Search or AOL Search. Perhaps my phone (a Toshiba VM4050) has a different, abbreviated set of Vision menus.

On the Vision Home page, the closest to a search is Find It. When I click on that, I get this list:

Yahoo! Search
Yellowpages.com
go2

and then 8 specific categories.

So once again, where are you seeing these? Please give the actual URLs, by using Show URL.

EDIT: OK, I found the Google Search. It is the Search item in the popup menu attached to the Menu button.

This isn't new. It's been like this for at least a month now. I guess people don't use Google that much on their phone huh?

Nope - at least I didn't, this is only the 2nd time I have googled from my phone - and it will probably be another 6 months before I do it again!

Wow, that's awesome! I just did a test with it and just typed in "Tornadoes" and couldn't believe it, some of the photographs take up the entire display on my 7400, WAY better than the dinky thumbnails on "Images." Since we were never able to get pics on the "Web" option, I never thought of going there for images, thanks for that info, now if they could just re-format the pic's on "Images" to be larger, I never saw the point in having a good size display if they can only show such small thumbnails.

Can you explain "Pop up menu" I get no such thing on my phone, the only way I can get Google is because I bookmarked it, it's still hasn't come back to my "Find it" page yet. It used to be on top of "Yahoo Search" but it's gone

Can you explain "Pop up menu"
On my Toshiba VM4050, I simply:

1) Open the Vision browser

2) Hit the Menu soft-button (upper right corner of keyboard)

3) Select the Search choice (#3)

4) When message "This site has moved" comes up, click on Google hyperlink

5) New Google page comes up.

Hey lgmayka, thanks I got it, now I'm just wondering if they will ever put Google back on the "Find it" page, where it used to be, but no big deal, just so I can get to Google if I need it.

Until they do that, just bookmark it.

Sprint will only modify the "Search" function on new phones coming out. Otherwise, for older phones, you have to take it in to a Sprint store to have the modification done. Like Cliffr39 said, just bookmark it, it's much easier.

SprintUsers.com was created in January 2002 as a resource for users of Sprint PCS products and services to learn about and share information. We have cll phone reviews, Cellular Accessories, Downloads, PDA reviews, Ringtones, all of the latest Sprint PCS news and information, an area where you can find help in creating a ring tone or custom image for you phone, and so much more. The most popular section is the message board where visitors can read and write messages, ask questions, and get advice about their cellular phone from other users.
