No, not yet... I didn't read the whole article but the little that I did read sounded more like a press release, kind of like a movie preview. Somewhere in the article it might state the actual release date.

Yeah, I like the i930 also. I think I'm gonna wait till next year for dual mode (CDMA/IDEN). Really don't like the idea of having to start a new contract for porting over to NEXTEL. plus NEXTEL coverage is soo small due to the fact they focus soo much on business. If I should have to travel I have a better chance of using service with my SPRINT phone. When dual mode comes out, it will be CDMA for calls and IDEN for PTT that will suit me alot better. And best of all, a new contact [/B]may not [/B] be needed.

What does the holiday have to do with it? I've heard direct from NEXTEL 10/10 I'm sure that if 10/10 is that date, The holiday would have nothing to do with it

Thats true. It took almost a week for them to promote the i860 on their website after its initial release.

Maybe I'm Slow Or Missed Something But I'm Cornfused Is The i930 A Nextel Network Compatible Phone Or Is It Compatible With The Current Sprint Network. I'd Like A Motorola But I Drive Truck And Nextel Map Is Too Spotty.

There are currently NO Sprint (PCS side) Motorolas...
The i in front of 930 indicates that it's an iDen Motorola phone (for use on Nextel, for instance).

Ok thank you was getting my hopes up for a motorola model available on sprint, guess i'll just keep with my thoughts of a phone company with motorola and a fully map coverage area.

I talked to a nextel rep and he confirmed the 6th of october for the i930

i am waiting for the 930 to come out and then im switching to nextel. i just talked to a rep and she told me yes, the 6th it will be available in telesales, but she confused me. she told me it had a camera and from the pictures ive seen, i dont see a camera.
anyway, my point being, years ago i was a nextel customer. i might be taking a risk going back, but i remember what was such a pain in the ass was a caller id issue with nextel. literally half the numbers wasnt recognized by nextels caller id. anyone else have this problem? if so, i hope they fixed it. i remember when i called nextel back then, they tried to blame it on verizon for not having the caller id support. thanks

? The i930 does have a camera! It's right on the front of the phone. And why would you go back to NEXTEL if you had problems with them? If it was enough for you to leave then why go back for a smaller coverage area when we will have CDMA/IDEN phones within a year. You woould have the best of both worlds without having to switch. CDMA for voice calls and IDEN to PTT

ok, your right. i just wasnt thinking about the camera. now i remember. i need to think about what you said and if its worth to go back. maybe ill wait. i would only do it for dc. thanks for your input.

When I spoke to a rep he also told me if I wanted the lowest price for the phone I would have to get a 2-yrs contract and a data package in order to get the phone.......

no time frame as of yet when the i870 is set to arrive? I hope it does not end being pushed back like the i930. U see how long it took them to release the phone...

WHAT!!! How'd you get it for that price? On the website site it's $349.99. I was almost about to order it for $258.99 (after discount from my employer.), but I think I'll wait a little while, to see how many problems people find.

Smart move! The first batch of nextel phones on new release seem to have the most problems just like the i730. I can’t believe they didn’t bump up the cam to a mega pixel

i930 back on Nextel's site. $499 full price. If I hadn't just bought the Samsung a940 a few days ago, I would be buying the i930. I was so excited about this phone back in October but took too long to get back on their site. Now I am pretty happy with my a940, but would love to have a smartphone.. time to return the a940?

I have a friend that wants to switch over from Sprint to Nextel for the i930. My question is, how does Nextel's service compare to Sprint's? And two, is the i930 any good at being a Smart-Device seeing as Nextel's data speeds are slower?

I purchased this phone, then sold it three days later. What a horrible phone! The display is ugly. Everytime I tried sending a text messaging, it gave me an error messaging telling me, Text messaging only works in GSM mode. I loaded 1 program, Smart Battery Pro, and the phone was saying it was out of memory.
I would not recommend this phone to anyone! I should have listen to skrywinski and not even bothered getting it.
I found the Decertifing software, so please feel free to PM me if you need it.
