Acouple months ago i got a phone from sprint new account and everything and i have a 2 year contract with them.. and i had to pay 150 doller deposit to get my phone.. well now im wanting direct connect cause most of my friends have nextel and want to DC them... and i saw the Nextel I710 phone and its nice as hell and wouldnt mind getting one of those.. but since i only been with sprint acouple months and would still have a year and 10 months left on my contract is there anyway to switch over to nextel without paying a early termination fee... and would they give my deposit back or keep it with the sprint phone i have? or can i transfer that deposit towards a nextel account? thanks for any info guys..

As long as your not in a affilate market, you wouldn't pay any term or act fees for porting over. You also will not recieve any discount off a nextel phone because you havn't had sprint long enough to be eligible for an upgrade. The deposit wouldn't be transferable in your case, it would require a new deposit for nextel and your sprint deposit would be mailed back to you.

i am pretty sure that the affiliate markets can switch with out etf is bull .. i called sprint .. lady said its evey sprint and nextel customer .. no matter if u are in an affiliate area or partner .. some cases like here .. u might be in an affiliate market for sprint but not in a partner area .. so just call 1-800-sprint1 port u number over .. o yea the deposit thing .. if u been paying ur sprint payment and just talk to someone tell them the problem i am pretty sure they will let u get a line .. peace

I was told that YES your deposit will count. Such as this what if I qualified for a Sprint plan with little or no deposit and Nextel wanted $400. Well sign up with Sprint and they can and will override the Nextel deposit. The Readylink will not be compatable with the DC of Nextel I have installed a quite few cell sites and the cabinets are completely different. Unless the comeup with a "translator" That goes bewteen the 2. Motorola is stepping up for the Hybrid Phone.

I Have Been A Sprint Customer Since 2001. I Added A Seconded Line In 2004. I Just Ported My Main Sprint Number Over To Nextel Last Night.about 4 Months Ago I Had My Credit Ran And Nextel Told Me $250 Deposit.but When I Talked To Nextel Last Night They Told Me They Would Waved The Deposit And Activation Since I Have Been With Sptint So Long, So I Didn't Have Any Problem. I Didn't Have To Pay A Deposit. I Was Also Approved For 2 Lines.so I Added My Husband To My Nextel Account And Kept My Daughter On Our Original Sprint Account. So Now I Have An Account With Both Nextel And Sprint.
