Hello,

I have two Sanyo 4900s (one for me, one for wife) one of which has a problem with the battery icon. It's "says" its recharging (via icon) even when it is not. I can have nothing attached to the phone and the front panel will state (sometime) "Battery Rechargin". I have replaced the battery with a brand new one, and also swapped it with my other 4900 however the same problem persists in all cases.

This wouldn't be the most tragic thing, but it seems that whatever is causing this problem is causing another problem which is the crux of my post! :irked:

I am trying to backup my phone book using a data cable and Snap Sync software. However the phone does not get recognized. The cable is securely attached. I can do the exact operation on my other 4900 without problem, yet on this one the phone doesn't connect.

Any insight as to what the problem may be and how to correct? The entire purpose is to download the entire phone book and then retire this phone.

Thanks,
Glenn

Sounds like water damage. Most phones with that problem are caused my moisture or water damage inthe phone not the battery. If your cable not connecting then most likely it’s the phone. Sorry to be the barer of bad news. But that’s the most common problem that I seen in your situation.
