I have 4 phones with Sprint and have been out of contract since Aug 2004 on all 4 lines. I want to get the new Sanyo 8300 for the $99 deal they have going on now. If I sign all 4 of my lines up on a new contract, can I get the phones for the $99 deal or is
that ONLY for new customers? I thought sprint had a thing where if you were out of
contract and signed a new contract you could get the same new phone deals as new customers do... at least it was that way when I originally signed up with sprint years ago.
Anyone know?

As far as I know, old customers are eligible for any deals that Sprint offers. To get a new phone, you have to sign a new contract, which means they don't lose anything by letting you have a new phone for the same price that a new customer would pay. Anyway, I've always gotten the advertised deals on all the phones that my family has bought.

Freak4Deals has been very fortunate to get prices matched on phones with an existing account..; at least in my situation, I have been told numerous times by CS reps that "old" customers DO NOT get the same deals as new ones do, regarding phones...
I asked about the Sanyo 8300, but was told that only my rebate amount would lessen the price of it. I am out of contract, a Sprint customer for 5 years, and spend $100+/month.. I offered to sign a new two year deal, but they could've cared less..
Also, the online $50 off would not be applicable either to my situation either.. .
New customers always get better phones prices-- once they "have you" they seem much less interested in you.. just my 0.02c..

Yeah I'm noticing the same thing. I think Freak4Deals is lucky :( I tried calling Sprint Customer Service, emailing with ecare, spoke with the cancellations department, and spoke to retention.......all of them told me the same thing....existing customers can NOT have the same deals as new customers on phones regardless of whether we sign a new contract.
This is probably never going to change unless more people complain to Sprint...well I guess Corporate anyway. Until then, if you're a new customer you get great deals, if you're an existing customer, haha sucker! :0( I'm very disappointed!
I am going to go to a few sprint stores tomorrow and see if in person I can get them to let me have the phones for the same price as new customers if I sign new agreements....doubt it...but I will try.
Wish me luck.

Unfortunately, Sprint isn't very good in this department...
They really ought to take a leaf out of Verizon's book on this one... As I recall, Verizon gives EXISTING customers the new-customer price, plus up to $100 off... For a 2-year contract renewal. (If the new-customer 2-year contract price is $50... they'll only give you $50 off.)

First, every existing customer was a "new" customer at one point and got "the good deal"....did they not?
Second, Verizon may offer those kinds of rebates to existing customers but their rate plans and options are generally higher too, aren't they.....? This is how they paying for their offers. It may seem like someting special, but ultimately you are paying the same money one way or the other.
Sprint doesn't have these options for existing customers, but our rate plans are generally lower because we are not trying to make up for the loss on handsets. That being said, Sprint takes a loss on every handset it sells even at full price....
