Has anyone been able to get the MM-8300 to connect to the web using a laptop and the USB cable? Worked great with my 5500 but now I get an error 678, Remote computer not responding. Maybe sprint has disabled this in the new phones.....

The feature is blocked on the 8300...I found out the hard way too... check other threads for further info.

very true, it sux but I wonder what they would do if you went in to the store and asked to add the tethering option onto your account (what is it something like $25 for 40mb I think).. will they say "sorry you need a new phone" ?

This is bogus. Why do they even have the option in the phone menu if it does not even work?
They just want you to pay the extra for the Vision plan. I bet another company that has the same phone has that option.
If anyone find a way to do this please reply.
If not I will pay the extra for one month get all my stuff downloaded and then cancel the extra vision plan.
On my old phone I was even able to send picture without the plan and was just charged per message sent. No I can't even do that.
I Was Told By Radio Shack Dat I Cud Get It For $75.00 N Dat Ncludes Cable N Disc. 1 Time Fee N Uses Vision 4 D Net.

Does this actually work?
I am glad that someone knows about, because the Sprint or the Sprint/Nextel people don't know anything about it. The store rep had no idea. I also called the sprint technical number and they transfered me about 4 times and still no one had an answer.
I am not as happy with this phone as I was with my 8100.
If someone has tried it and it worked, please let me know.
My Last Ph Was An 8100. Im Very Happy With This 1 . The Radio Shack Rep Told Me I Needed The Usb N Software And The 75.00 Ncluded It. And It Works Thru Vision. No Xtra Fees.
