This is the deal that I just got from a very nice lady in retention.
- 2 new touch phones for $400 (I'm going to see if I can still get the MIR)
- 1000min/$50
- Power vision - 2 lines/$10 for both
- Discount - 15% (for work)
- 500 free texts on one phone
- free roaming
- free pcs to pcs
- free long distance
- N & W start at 7
Well, at least this is what the lady on the phone told me but I'm prepared for some problems when the actual bill comes just because of past problems but I'm confident that I can get it taken care of. This is a better deal for us than our previous plan and I am thinking of asking for a loyalty discount at a later day. I can't wait to get my new phone :)
CONGRATULATIONS And WELCOME TO SU...!!! You could still go for those MIRs, wouldn't take them for granted, everything adds up and anything to save $$$ helps, that's the main idea... I wouldn't wait long to ask for Loyalty if you've been with Sprint a number of years since once migrated to the new billing system, they get a little stricter since they could only go as far as the system allows them. I'd do it ASAP... :welcome: LRB

The plot thickens...
I checked online to verify that the info was correct. It wasn't. The plan was entered as a 2100 minute plan and the Vision packages for free were not on there. It took 2 seperate 45 minute phone calls, but I think I have it straightened out. In the process, I convinced the CSR to give me the Navigation Package on both phones for free.
I'll check tomorrow to see if they really did it this time.
This is getting fun.

thanks for the welcome :)
I was able to speak with someone in retentions on Monday. They gave me the phone for the price I wanted (but I have to submit a rebate form). But I haven't seen it show up on my account and haven't been billed for it. I misplaced my confirmation number. When I called the one rep said she didn't have access to my full account and transferred me. I've called order support 3 times and have waited for over 20 minutes on hold, but haven't been able to connect with anyone to confirm my order was placed.
How long does it usually take for orders to appear on accounts?

Previous plan:
Sprint PCS Fair & Flex AMER for FAMILIES (2 lines)
550 ATM for $59.99
Nights at 9pm
Equipment protection on both phones
12% Corp discount
~$73 month with taxes, etc
22 into 24 of contract, attempted to split family plan (2 lines) to 2 individual SERO plans for $30 each with a Musiq for each. Kept getting the error that plan and phone upgrade cannot be done at the same time. Wife called customer service on day after Thanksgiving, kept getting shot down on the SERO split (new customers only). She was finally transferred to retentions who offered 1000 ATM and Nights at 7pm for the same price we are currently paying to renew. The Musiq was on special for $49 so with the $50 MIR they will be free. I was hoping she could have fought for discounted/free text/vision but she didn't. :-(
The new plan goes into effect on December 1st. I have both phones in hand already activated with same numbers. What are the chances that my wife could call next week and mention that she was looking online at her new plan and that the CSR she spoke to on day after Thanksgiving must have forgot to include text/vision for free? Obviously the CSR was trying to match the SERO plan without actually signing us up for it. Thoughts?

I have an existing sprint account for over 10 years and its no longer under contract. Is it possible to convert my account to a SERO plan?
Ecare says its not possible to port Sprint -> Sprint but I believe I saw it posted here in the past that if you keep trying that eventually someone will switch you over.
Thanks in advance.
Who told you that...? The only sticky to SEROs is No Migration from Existing, meaning exisitng contract... If you've been OOC for a while I don't see why not? If you need help, PM me, if you haven't done a thing about it yet...

woofer, that's a pretty good deal. I've found that I've had to call CS several times to get things worked out as they should be. Went through 4 separate phone calls to get the text messages on one of my phones corrected (it was through retention on the last call, had to sign a one year for the phone to get 500 messages per month to replace the 50 per month the plan had included).

I don't post much but I feel obigated to share my new plan. I've only been with for 2 years now; I got in on the Moto Q deal back in Jan, so I'm only about 10 months into a new contract. I was able to exchange my Moto Q for a Touch at no cost. I was on a F&F 800min for $69.99, free 7PM-(line 1-$8 UL text, $5 PV, TEP $7; line 2-500 Free text, no PV, Repair $4) & 25% corp discount. My new plan is:
Line #1
1000 Anytime Min - $50
6PM Nights - $10
M2M - $0
Roaming - $0
UL Text - $8
PV - $5
TEP - $7
Line #2
Add a Line - $0
UL Text - $8
PV - $5
Repair - $4
Plus 25% corp & 10% loyalty discount

Hey how did you manage to get an upgraded phone at no cost? I've had the Moto Q for almost a year and it's horrible. My phone locks up all the time and runs sluggish. I get horrible reception and dropped calls at home. Sprint told me to take the phone to a Sprint Repair Center so they can do a diagnostic check and they also ran a free update on my phone so that it can pick up any new cell phone towers that it wasn't getting before. The update doesn't seem to have changed anything. I think if I talk about buying my contract out so that I can get better service and better working phone they might offer me what they offered you.

I get 23% and was getting a 5% loyalty discount and they took it away. I got something in my home mail about it going away and no more two discounts stacked. But they offered me for resigning for 2 years back in 10/06 the same 8 unlimited and 5 PV. I was paying 10 beforeso I took it. The past 2 months I haven't been seeing the 10 dollar credit cause PV i 15 bucks. I called and he said the code was in there but they hadn't been giving it to me and he would credit me 20 bucks. That was retetion I spoke to he said he couldn't do anything about the other 5% loyalty. I think it was always listed under goverment. But I get the 1000 minute 49.99 plan and either 3000 or unlimitd N&W I forget. I am glad I noticed my bill though and plan on making sure next month I get the 10 dollar credit. Rose

Hi. I have a quick question. I have been with Sprint w/the Sero plan for the past two years. My contract is terminated tomorrow. Is it possible to get a new phone for free or highly discounted through retention without changing my plan? I have no problem signing on for another 2 years with Sprint.

I have been with Sprint for over 10 years with current 2 Year contract ending on 03/08 and wanted to upgrade 3 of the 5 phones I have on current family plan paying over $200 a month for and wondering if any of you good folks could suggest what options I have in play here since I would like to do the upgrade as Xmas presents for my wife and kids. I called Ecare the other day and the gal told me she could give me some special deal for $50 credit for 4 of the 5 phones so I would get a credit for $200 on my next bill but could not do the phone upgrade until the phones expired. Any suggestions? Not sure what that credit represents and if now will it reduce my leveraging ability for 3 phone upgrades.
Thanks in advance,

I'm trying to get the new moto q9c for the same price as new customers, but 1 phone call and two emails later- no luck. I've been a sprint customer since 2000, have 2 lines of service for the past 4 years, and have referred a few new customers. I've gotten deals on phones before, but it was at a stand in the mall and the guy called the retentions department on my behalf. Does anyone have any tips on how I can get a deal now on the moto q9c? It's not like I'm asking to get the phone for free, I just don't think I should pay anymore than a new customer. Loyalty should count for something :)
fefy,
If you are OOC or coming close, I think you can do better than $149 for the Q9C. Read my earlier post. I was able to get one for $149 and then a $50 Service Credit for extending my contract.
BTW, I've had my Q9C for a couple of days and am very pleased with it. I find the battery bulge a plus. It's very comfortable to hold. Only trouble I've had so far is trying to find a good case for it.

Called today and asked about porting my mom and grandfather from "the check mark". Got offered the 2100 miutes for $110 plan with 10% off the base charge basically making it $98. $10 for lines 3 and 4. She then explained that I would keep my NVP discout of 27% would be applied after all the other charges were added to the account (extra lines, and roaming basically. PV and text are free already.) I had her note the account. The only thing I am scared of is losing my PV and text discounts and then the whole bill getting screwed up.
She did say that I could just add a whole other family plan for the two lines which would also be subject to my NVP discount. Not sure which is easier at this point. SERO is not an option since I can't get NVP discounts. Neither my mom or grandfather need vision or texting. Not sure what to do at this point.
It all sounds good, I just don't want things messed up if I do make the switch.

59.99 biz essentials, roaming, n&w, 1000 anytime, 100 bonus min x2.
Two lines 25 credit for aap, 15 powervision creditx2, 300 text on one line free, random 25 credit on other line (think this was a mistake) loyalty discount,10% Gordon foods service discount.
Total bill this month after taxes and discounts-37.xx.
I'd be crazy to go anywhere else.
This was in response to requesting a sero for two lines without changeing phone numbers. I email and told ecare i knew it could be done, they said it couldn't and came back with this. I wanted texts on both phones, but with this deal I can pay an occasional text message fee.

So after calling back with a couple of questions about the plan I had worked out, I talked to an excellent rep in canada who gave me this:
2100 Minutes shared over 4 lines
109.99
$5 monthly crdt for 2 yrs
$10 monthyly crdt for 1 yr
2nd line free
lines 3 and 4 currently $10. Rep will call tomorrow (hopefully) and reduce this price.
PV free on lines 1 and 2
500 txt free on lines 1 and 2
$5 300 txt for line 4
$7 TEP for line 1
15% loyalty
27% NVP discount
$75 one time svc crdt
Basically my bill will be about $100 after everything is factored in. which, when I split that with my mom and grandfather who I ported in, my portion of the bill only goes up $4. Pretty pleased overall.
Tried to work an upgrade for my Q to the Q9C but couldn't go lower than $250. Didn't press my luck after getting the discounts she gave me.

I was able to set me and the missus up with Sero plans, 500 min, TEP, Roadside assistance + Mogul for me, Centro for her. Will now ask (not demand) nicely if can get loyalty discount for being an 8+ year customer.
I'm not posting the retention offer (alert - thread hijack!) as much as to say that in talking to 10+ CS reps through the ordering, clarification and status check calls that every interaction was positive. The reps knew what they were doing in most cases and when they didn't, they admitted as such and tried to find the right answer.
Maybe I just hit a string of knowledgeable reps but I was struck by how much more confident and, for want of a better word, well-trained the reps were. If this is a sign of the increased attention to service by Sprint, good job so far.

Keep in mind I was already on a retentions plan from 2005, so I didn't know how much better I was going to do. This is what I got:
Two Lines - 1000 Anytime Min.
Free Nights/Weekends, Free PCS-PCS, etc...etc...
Weeknights @ 7pm
Unlimited Roaming - Free
100 2-Way Text Messages/month - Free
Unlimited Data Access - Free
$50/month
I've seen better plans, but I'm definitely happy with this. I had to work on them as my rep was not in the "giving" mood at first. I had to hammer the fact down that I was seriously looking at moving to Verizon (I was) due to their better coverage...thus the roaming discussing began, which led to the free unlimited. Then I had to work on the data plan, which she was going to so generously give me for $15/month (retail price). I told her I was not in a EV-DO area, whereas I was with Verizon, so unless I got a significant price change on the data...it wasn't an advantage of staying with Sprint.
These were not lies...rather I really had to stress what I was looking for and if they give you something you are not happy with, balk. For instance, she gave me 500 txt messages for $5/month. While a nice little package I'm sure, I won't use 500 messages in a year, so I had to explain that its of no real value to me, but I won't stand for paying $0.20/message either.
Thoughts?

Old plan:
1500 min, shared among 4 lines, unlimited text on 2 lines, 100 text on other two, N/W 7 p.m... Old cost $157.xx/mo.
New offer:
1000 min. $50
2 addl lines 20
Unl text all lines $20
Internet 3 lines $35...new cost $125/mo. not including 17% co. discount.
Sprint offers $50 credit on 3 lines for contract renewal that i can apply to phone purchase...
I had hoped the rentention rep would offer to throw in a Rumor or M510 for free, but no dice.
How'd I do?

Old Plan:
1500 shared minutes $90
2 addl. lines 20
PV all 4 lines 37.50
Unl text on 2 lines 16
N/w 7 pm 5
Unl roaming 5
New offer:
1000 shared minutes 50
2 addl lines 20
Unl text all lines 20
PV all lines 35
N/W 7 pm / unl roaming 0
Since I NEVER used all my minutes anyway, this is a savings of about 28 percent or almost $50 a month. I had hoped they would throw in a couple of nice phones (Rumor, M510) but no dice.
How'd I do?
BTW, Sprint customer for 10 years.

You want to upgrade your 6700 to a 6800? You bought the phone on ebay, Sprint won't upgrade it. You will have to buy a 6800.

You want to upgrade your 6700 to a 6800? You bought the phone on ebay, Sprint won't upgrade it. You will have to buy a 6800.
If you're within 30 days of activation on the 6700, you can add insurance to the phone. My 6700 (bought on ebay) started "giving me all sorts of problems". I added insurance to the line about 3 weeks after activation and made two calls to customer service and I was told that "unfortunately we can't replace the 6700 with another 6700 so we are sending you the 6800 with a return pack for the 6700". (Also got a $5 credit for each of the cust service calls).
Retention offer:
Current plan 3500 minutes for 135 per month
three extra lines on that plan - four lines total
power vision & unlim text on the four phones
1-blackberry
1-data card
My bill runs around $300/mo
Everything was set to expire this month.
Got two free months for renewing the four phone lines.

I have spent about ten hours on the phone with everyone at sprint since yesterday...
finally today I called in to retentions for the third time...
I ended up with the greatest retention manager ever...
she gave me two centros for $74.99 each, even though I wasn't eligible for upgrade until april and june of 2008. plus fixed all sorts of issues I have had since april of this year. all in all... I ended up with over $700 in credits... 2 new centros... a motorola rzr... and a new balance of NEGATIVE $90 due on Jan. 1st!
oh... and I got my husband a centro for $74.99, free unlimited txting, and a $50 credit in his contract...
:) I am VERY happy to say the least...

We started using more minutes than our old plan allowed for and started using some text messaging and data a little which started to add up quickly on our old plan. So I called retentions and got:
My old plan was:
$69.99 - 800 F&F + $5/100 min extra
Nights starting at 9
4 AAP @ $10 each
Average monthly bill with taxes: $115
New Plan:
$109.99 - 2200 F&F + $5/100 min extra
Nights at 7
Free AAP
$20 2xAAP
$20 Unlimited Text
$20 2xPower Vision
Free Pick Three
20% Loyalty Discount
Should cost $150 with taxes
Also 2 x Free Samsung M510 and 2 x $200 HTC Touch = $400 / 4 phones
So we're paying $35 more / month for way more minutes than we'll ever use, text and data on the Touches.
Is this a good deal?

I have been with Sprint for over 5 yrs. Its had its ups and downs, but for the most part I am pleased with my service.
I was out of contract and looking to get in on the SERO bandwagon. Had some trouble online so I called sprint and ended up at retentions.
Here is what I ended up with:
$60 - 2000 atm
2nd line free
N/W starting at 7pm - free
Free PowerVision (both lines)
Free Pcs-Pcs (both lines)
Free Long Distance (both lines)
Free Roaming (both lines)
3 - $50 service credits over 3 months
2 new Centros for $99 each, which I probably would have gotten anyway since I was otc and signing for 2 more years.

Ok. So here's a good one, i ported my number to another carrier, they sucked and ported back to Sprint, i got on the phone with 'Account Services' and this is what i got:
yeah, i didn't realize how much better sprint service is than all those other losers, i mean, it has its days, but just like everything else, it can't always be perfect. so, i'm actually quite happy, and a shout out to Sammie @ CS for taking care of me, and getting me my number back!

Update:
1000 Anytime minutes shared
Nights at 7pm
Unlimited Vision Access Pack and text on line 1
Unlimited Vision and text on line 2
T. Equip Protection x 2 ($14.00 total)
12% corporate discount
Both Musiqs free after rebate
$73 including tax per month. Almost as good as 2 SERO plans.
Thoughts?

I called retentions today to see if I could upgrade my current phone. I have been with Sprint for 13 months and didn't expect much but was surprised I got what I asked for. I've had problems with my Samsung A900 since day one and asked to upgrade to a black Palm Centro. Got it for $99 like I asked and extended for one more year. Could have asked for more but that's what I was willing to part with so all's good! Plus, this beat any offer ecare was willing to give me. Ecare was only willing to credit me $75 towards a full price Centro and maybe wave the upgrade fee. Thanks for the posts and help everyone! :headbang2

bit of back story here. i lost my 8400 about 3 weeks ago and have total equip protection, but i have been putting off replacing it cause i was not at all interested in the dlx or a refurbed 8400 - even though its a nice phone.
so, i called retentions today to really just get a definite answer on when my contract expired. i wanted to know so i could see where i stood on getting the 150 rebate. i had called previously and had gotten a date that didnt coincide with my records and i was in no mood to argue my case with the rep. i got a awesome woman at retentions and explained the situation and we went through my history and it was revealed that i was out of contract on two of my lines but because of some lazy reps it had extended my contract a year longer than what my records indicated.
in the end my plan went from this
3 lines
700 minutes
nights at 7
500 text
unlmtd nights/weekends
$10 vision
$10 power vision
15 percent military discout
96 bucks a month plus tax
3 lines
1000 minutes
nights @ 7
500 text
unlmtd nights/weekends
free vision/power vision on 2 lines
*would be nice if i retained the military discount but i wont complain
40 bucks plus tax
the topper was i got the centro for 50 bucks.
i almost kinda felt guilty, but after all the bs i have had to go through i dont feel so bad. all i can say is kill em with kindness, but be firm.
i guess i can send back those two pearls i got from tmobile, cause i was seriously going to switch. so glad i didnt.

yeah, i was surprised to hear that they had this "secret" 1000 minute plan or can reps just make up their own plans? i was super psyched when i got home today to find that the centro was overnighted. so, i have been playing with it all day. pretty impressed thus far.
the only thing that is kinda scaring me at the moment is that my accout shows that i owe almost 450 bucks when i should only owe like 150. hopefully that 300 comes off soon.

It is secret in the sense that it isn't published but reps really can't make up their own plans. From what I heard, reps have a sheet that they start off with, depending on your value to Sprint.
As for the account, all my experiences with Sprint, I usually wait until I receive the bill/statement and look at it then and figure it out then. Otherwise, trying to figure out the billing/account will feel like masturbating with sandpaper

right on, that makes sense. regarding billing and accounting, i have tried what you so eloquently described and i must contend that i enjoyed that more than contacting sprint cs. i know i am stating the obvious, but, if it werent for the fact that their service is so great, i would have been gone along time ago. it really shouldnt be this difficult.

Called last night on a whim...Still had 6 months left on contract including the Unlimited PAM. All phones qualified for the 12 month/$75 upgrade.
First call to *2, said "cancel" and just said NICELY to the sprint rep., "I know my contract is ending in 6 months and my bill is a little high right now. Is there something we can do to make it lower? Also, my son, with the N200, would like to have his phone replaced.". Then I said nothing and let the rep. talk. ;)
Old plan:
$89.99 FaF shared 1500 AT min.
1st line (treo 700p)
Free - 2nd line (Katana)
$9.99 - 3rd line (LG 325)
$9.99 - 4th line (N200...Yes an N200 :D )
Free - Unlimited texting All lines
Free - Unlimited NaW starting @ 6 p.m.
Free - roaming
Free - long distance
$40.00 - Unlimited PAM (1st line)
$7.00 - TEP on Treo
-15% - Loyalty
Total monthly was about $150 to $160 after taxes, etc.
New plan:
$69.99 FaF shared 1500 AT min.
1st line w/ additional 200 minutes (treo 700p)
Free - 2nd line w/ additional 200 minutes (LG Rumor $25)
Free - 3rd line w/ additional 200 minutes (LG Rumor $25)
Free - 4th line w/ additional 200 minutes (LG Rumor $25)
Free - Unlimited texting All lines
Free - Unlimited NaW starting @ 6 p.m.
Free - roaming
Free - long distance
$15.00 - Power Vision Ultimate (1st line no cancel fee for PAM)
$7.00 - TEP on Treo
-15% - Loyalty
Bill should be much lower now. ;)
Just an FYI - I got rid of the PAM because I didn't use it nearly enough to justify the cost but I did use internet radio, web surfing, etc. a lot. So, I stuck with the PVU.
My Treo is starting to act up and I really wanted a Mogul to replace the Treo but the deal wasn't good enough ($225), and I have TEP on it so I am going to the sprint store today to see what they can do to fix it. I will wait til the next round of smart phones come out before replacing it. CES this week will let me know soon enough what will be coming down the pipe.
Anyway, I thought I got a good deal and I am happy and so are my wife and kids as they got new phones as well. :headbang2

Hooray! Finally called Retentions (*2 cancel, 5 seconds straight to guy) and told him I wanted to cancel because my gf is leaving her provider and we wanted to get a verizon family plan together because they cover the d.c. metro system and we wanted new smart phones, but sprint would charge me a lot. He then said "have you looked at our phones?". I said yes, the centro, and he said "well what i can do it give it to you for $99 as well) and we went from there.
So before I had
300 minutes w/ free incoming
500 Free text messages
7pm Night/weekend
and 7 dollar insurance
total: 48.60
NEW family plan:
Two centros for $99 each
$40 750 min (we don't call ppl much)
7pm nights/weekends
Free mobile to mobile
Free Unlimited Text messaging for both of us
$10 Powervision for both of us, so $5 per person
and second line was free
Total: $50 + insurance, so probably 64 bucks. But not bad for 2 ppl.
The guy was super nice and friendly and American!. Go retentions!

The best thing to happen to me in a while. Contract ended on Dec. 25th. Delayed calling because it was Christmas and my pockets were funny. Searching the NET found all the testimonials and stories how an expired contract is like gold. I have a Treo 700wx (which I love by the way) but the new Touch is everything my Treo is but smaller and Windows mobile 6. So:
I called the first time and I got a rep who really wanted to play games placing me on hold a lot for a stinky 50 dollar off deal on top of the standard 150. Was going to go for it until I remembered a rep telling me that they will bill me ahead for the Touch meaning nothing up front from me. So I said thanks but no thanks and she let me off the phone.
Called back got this happy go lucky rep who did the following:
Gave me a 50 dollar a month 1k minute plan with the second line free. Free text messaging, nights and weekends at 7. I got the Touch for 199 and because I was at my credit limit she knocked off a lot on my bill where I practically got the phone for free. With all the issues that sprint has lord knows they have them they really did hook a brother up this time.
YEP YEP.

What about the 4th line wouldn't work with the new system? Was it the phone that was on the line or what? Just wondering cause I have 6 lines.

Penny my 4th line was a Mercedes Motorola Timeport phone for my car.
When I was on p2k the phone number and msid was the same but once migrated that changed so with the Timeport being an older phone the phone didnt understand the phone number and msid being different and never activated correctly.
I was just keeping it because it was a free sub and wasnt using it at all since my new car has bluetooth. After talking to tier 3 they said okay we cant get this to work and cancelled the line for free after offering me a Centro for free.
You should be okay as long as the 6 lines are not on the same family plan...:ohcrap:

Here's what recently happened to me:
Old:
3 lines (one is $9.99, one is free, and one main line)
700 Family Shared - $69.99
Unlimited Texts on all lines - $20
Power Vision on 2 lines - $15 each
Equipment Protection - $7 for 2 lines
Total - about $145 before taxes
New:
2 lines (one is free, and one main line)
1000 Family Shared - $40
Unlimited Texts on all lines - $10 each
Power Vision on 2 lines - $10 each
Equipment protection for 2 lines - $7 each
15% loyalty discount
Total about $80 before taxes
So even though it's not as good as some of you guys and gals out there, saving $65 a month is great.

Just an update on my retention offer. Because I did not want to pay for my phone up front the rep put 1000 THOUSAND DOLLERS in credits, rebaits, perks and what not on my account. LOL. It caused my service to be temporarily interrupted. I called cs and did not even come out the bag just said why would I call to renew just to have my service interrupted when I was well below my spending limit. No harm no foul. The CS gave me even more credit lol. Say what you want Sprint will hustle you may as well return the favor J/K.

Not sure. In my post earlier in the thread I said How I tried a few times to get the Touch. I got a rep who was straight forward and got me a $49 1k a month sero like plan and then I said the plan isn't so much an issue as I want a Touch billed ahead (it is right after the holidays) she put me on hold came back said no problem but because my credit limit of 200 bucks she worked some magic that somehow came out to 1k dollars worth of credits?

Sweet deal. To be honest, like I said in an earlier post, I am happy with my 700p and I am waiting to see what will come out this year before thinking about upgrading. I will prolly call back when I decide and try for more credit. Good job though!

Nice stuff, at the same time, Sprint is pretty bad of its rep saying one thing and doing another. Then, when you try to call back and tell them whats wrong, they simply say we can't do it.. so watch your bill carefully

The longer the better I would imagine. This last round I went through I had 6 months left on my contract but I was also a no late payer for over 6 years. So, YMMV.

01-08-2008, 01:46 PM
So, not fully out of contract (there were all sorts of problems when I initially got my contract, and even though it's been over two years, they have changed my contract "start" date a few times) and called about new phones or plans. we have:
1200 Mins
7PM N/W
free 2nd line
500 SMS on one line, unlimited on the other
Shared Vision Access Pack
Roaming
Sprint to Sprint
for around (changes by a few dollars every month) $54 before taxes.
I'm fine with our plan as it is, so they offered us one touch for free, and a second one for 249, with no rebates.
I'm debating, but are there any small things I'm missing that i could get them to throw in too?

Help!!! I need advice!!!
I was going to cancel my service because I didn't want to pay $30 more per month just to get the Touch. $15 was for the EVDO, $15 for the texting. I would have paid the $15 but I was getting texting for free and didn't want to start paying.
I talked to retentions (I have been a customer for 9 years with 3 lines of service). I was promised:
2100 anytime minutes shared over 3 lines
Unlimited EVDO Internet - 2 lines
6p-7a nights
Unlimited Texting
Nationwide Calling
TEP - 1 line
After my corporate discount, my bill should be about $101.XX plus tax.
I am crystal clear on the offer. I thought it was a good deal so I signed up for 2 years. I've read other people's offers and mine is not the deal to beat all deals but it was reasonable to me and that's just what I wanted, a reasonable deal.
The phone was ordered and was to arrive in 2 days.
Here's where my problems began:
Called on the following Monday to get the tracking number and no one could find it. They concluded that she never placed the actual order so I could have waited forever and never received a phone. No problem, I went out and bought it myself.
I was also supposed to get an email from this rep on the upcoming Tuesday (she was off on Sun & Mon). Never got the email.
Then I happened to check my activity online...by chance only. I was surprised at what I saw so I called to find out what was going on. When I ordered the new service, she advised me to have it start on my next billing cycle so I wouldn't get a partial billing on my current cycle. It made sense to me. What I wasn't told was that my current plan with Internet service and free texting was cancelled until my next billing cycle. I was given a credit for my extra charges (which was over $100 at the time). I then told them to add the Internet on right away...I would pay for the half month.
Then on 12/5 (my new billing cycle) I almost had a heart attack when I saw my bill. It was almost $190 and that was after the $100 Internet/Texting credit.
Called yesterday and was given another credit so my current bill is now $117.XX but I was told that next month it will be $127.xx. Figuring in taxes brings my monthly charges to about $144. That's not what my plan was supposed to be. The rep looked at everything and insisted that's what it should be. I explained to her that if my old bill averaged $96 per month and I was going to cancel if I had to add $30 more, why would I okay almost $50 more? It makes no sense. My bill should be about $101 plus tax or around $117. That's what I signed up for.
I'm so upset. The rep I spoke with yesterday in retentions said that the rep who gave me the deal would call me today or tomorrow. Should I hold my breath? I'm almost 99% sure that no one will call. I would have never signed up to pay almost $150 a month. I told the rep yesterday that the plan I was offered is not unusual, so why am I having a problem with them sticking to what they promised me?
Does anyone have advice for me?

With your long 9 years of tenure and loyalty with Sprint, you deserve waaaaay more than that...!!! It's called APPRECIATION for maintaining your account in good standing all those years and R E S P E C T...!!! First off, I'd work on some LOYALTY DISCOUNT, you most definitely deserve it... Then I'd read Sprint/Nextel TOS (Terms of Service specific to the new 2008 TOS) just to see what my rights are provisioned under the TOS, then I'd call RETENTIONS to let them know your original plan of canceling before all the problems arose. I'd see what they come up with in terms of concessions favorable to me before I commit to them again. I'd also check on the "Change of Plan" provisions on the Sprint site within the first 6 months if I weren't happy with my current plan. I'd also check on the different Plans, Individual, Family and/or SERO plans and what they include just so I know what I am missing in terms of great deals and all those unlimited features that are now almost all of which are standard (meaning inclusive of, without additional charge) to the new plans.
"Term Commitments & Early Termination Fees
Many of the Services (for example, rate plans and Device discounts) that we offer require you to maintain certain Services with us for a minimum term, usually 1 or 2 years ("Term Commitment"). You will be charged a fee ("Early Termination Fee") for each line of Service that you terminate early (i.e., prior to satisfying the Term Commitment) or for each line of Service that we terminate early for good reason (for example, violating the payment or other terms of the Agreement). Early Termination Fees are a part of our rates. Your exact Term Commitment and Early Termination Fee may vary based on the Services you select and will be disclosed to you during the sales transaction. Carefully review any Term Commitment and Early Termination Fee requirements prior to selecting Services. After you have satisfied your Term Commitment, your Services continue on a month-to-month basis without any Early Termination Fee, unless you agree to extend your Term Commitment or agree to a new Term Commitment. As explained directly below, there are instances when you will not be responsible for an Early Termination Fee for terminating Services early.
When You Don't Have To Pay An Early Termination Fee
You aren't responsible for paying an Early Termination Fee when terminating Services: (a) provided on a month-to-month basis; (b) consistent with our published trial period return policy; or (c) in response to a materially adverse change we make to the Agreement as described directly below.
Our Right To Change The Agreement & Your Related Rights
We may change any part of the Agreement at any time, including, but not limited to, rates, charges, how we calculate charges, or your terms of Service. We will provide you notice of material changes, and may provide you notice of non-material changes, in a manner consistent with this Agreement (see "Providing Notice To Each Other Under The Agreement" section). If a change we make to the Agreement is material and has a material adverse effect on Services under your Term Commitment, you may terminate each line of Service materially affected without incurring an Early Termination Fee only if you: (a) call us within 30 days after the effective date of the change; and (b) specifically advise us that you wish to cancel Services because of a material change to the Agreement that we have made. If you do not cancel Service within 30 days of the change, an Early Termination Fee will apply if you terminate Services before the end of any applicable Term Commitment.
Your Ability To Change Services & When Changes Are Effective
You typically can change Services upon request. In some instances, changes may be conditioned on payment of an Early Termination Fee or certain other charges, or they may require you to accept a new Term Commitment. Changes to Services are usually effective at the start of your next full invoicing cycle. If the changes take place sooner, your invoice may reflect pro-rated charges for your old and new Services.
Your Right To Terminate Services
You can terminate Services at any time by calling us and requesting that we deactivate all Services. You are responsible for all charges billed or incurred prior to deactivation. If Services are terminated before the end of your invoicing cycle, we won't prorate charges to the date of termination and you won't receive a credit or refund for any unused Services. Except as provided above, you must also pay us an Early Termination Fee for each line of Service that you terminate early."
Good luck and let us know what kind of deal you get out of "re-dealing" with RETENTIONS. I'd do myself a favor by writing every rep's name and ID # down and all the offers and I'd ask each and everyone of them to email/confirm all of the above for your scrutiny and consideration before making a final decision. I'd also remember to be in control of my own plan and account and that I won't be dictated as to what I can have versus what I want to have. The same goes for the phone of my choice. :hee: LRB

I have the pleasure of still being in P2K with a Retention plan that I know I will be pulling my hair out once migrated over to Ensemble to keep even 50% of it in place.
My Adverage Bill before an additional charges (Phones, Vision) is usually less then 170$ a month (But my accounts phone addiction, I havent seen a bill that low in quite some time).
When migrating over to Ensemble, I will probably fighting to Keep:
- High Loyalty Discounts
- 6000 Anytime Minutes
- One Family Plan with 8 lines sharing
- Recurring Credits
- FIMF (The Jury is still out on this one, as most people kept theirs, but others have lost there).
I need prayers, because I know I'm in for a fight.

I'm in a similar situation and I'm thinking I'm going to go up the ladder. I was supposed to get calls back from reps that never happened. I called and had messages sent to one of the reps, per his request, and still have not heard from him. I too did a lot of plan movement last month and now my bill is about $250 long. Ok so I checked online to make sure I got what was promised to me this past Friday. To recap this is what I should have gotten:
1500 F&F $89.99 minus $20
lines 2, 3, and 4 for free
additional 200 min./line for free
unlimited txt all lines free
N&W @ 6 on all lines free
-15% loyalty
yadda yadda yadda
I check online and I am missing N&W @ 6, free txt, free 3rd and 4th line and minus $20.
I call retentions and explain the situation. The guy says he can see how I got the free txt and N&W @ 6 but then he says, and I think this is hilarious, "What was said when you were offered the $20 off and lines 3 and 4 for free. I'm not saying it wasn't offered but I'm an employee and I can't even get that price."
I wanted to laugh on the phone but resisted. I explained what happened when I called originally and that it was just offered. Long story short, he checked the notes on my account and it was all there so they had to honor it. Then he says, "We're losing money on you every month with this plan." :headbang2
I do have one question though for all of you out there that got free vision for multiple lines. HOW DID YOU SWING THIS? I tried to get it but the best that was offered was $10 per line. Just curious. I'm still happy with my plan regardless.

Nice plan first of all. I'm glad you are really happy with it as thats all that matters.
I got my free vision a long time ago. In fact, when I first asked for it, they couldn't do it until they grandfathered in the really old vision stuff. Now it shows up on my bill as Power Vision Plus Pack, whatever that means. I have it for free on all four of my lines but it seems that retentions is more cracking down on giving it away for free as it is likely more people are using the connection for things like PAM and such
1st Line - Mogul 500 Texts, N&W @ 7, ESRP, PV
2nd Line - A500 N&W @7
3rd - Fusic N&W @ 7
Total W/Taxes =
$35-40
All with 1 year contract
Although ecare promised me free unlimited texting a while back, they never added it and since I called retentions yesterday and told them about it, they said that there was no free texting code... :icon_smil

I responded by saying that even though im not eligible for the 24 month rebate i kno that it is possible for me to get a phone at a discounted rate because i saw it done before. and i also mention that i was with sprint for over six years and i never recieved nor asked for any type of deal or promotion that i was not entitled to. I ended the email by saying thanks for showing me that my customer loyalty is appreciated.
got an email back in about an 30 min saying they do appreciaite my loyalty and offered me a $75 rebate. $75 off of $549 phone is not much but i guess its better than nothing. but im gonna pass i can get a better deal on ebay...........................................wha t you think

I think you should just wait till the next ver. comes out. You will have $150 trade in and more leverage to get more off and you will have the most current phone. ;)

Signed up for Sero, then called before the 30 day period. They offered $5 off, I said ok, but I also wanted 6pm nights. He said he couldn't find the code for 6pm night, so they would just charge me $10 for it and credit me $10 each month.
I said instead of the 6pm nights, just give me the $10 credit instead. He agree, so $10 service credit every month for the contract.
A few days after, I called back again. I had an issue with the phone. They resolved my phone issue. Then just for the hell of it, I ask for free 6pm nights. They couldnt find the code for it, BUT they found the code for 5pm nights. So they gave me that instead.
so, sero 500 plan with the usual unlimited blah blah blah for $20, and 5pm nights.
got lucky.
i tried calling for someone else, got only $10 off for 6months, 6pm nights, and 10% discount for the contract.
really depends on who answers your call at retentions.

I've seen the Centro for $79 after rebates on Amazon.com. If I were offered the $99 deal by a rep, and I told them I'd buy the phone online, what would Retention be inclined to say? Would they match the $79 deal instead?? And if I did buy the phone at Amazon, would I be able to activate the phone with my current Sprint phone number?

My husband and I each have the SERO 500 plan. He's been out of work this month, so when I checked our usage (actually looking to see if we had a new bill), I was SHOCKED to see that he had used 400 minutes OVER. (almost 900 minutes total). I immediately called to upgrade to SERO 1250, but was told it won't go into effect until the new billing cycle, which starts Sunday. So that doesn't save me any money. I went ahead and upgraded, because I'm scared he'll do it again with his job hunt and all, and emailed e-care witha promise to renew the contract if they back date the upgrade to save me the extra money on overages.
If this doesn't work, should I try calling retentions? (and maybe get a bonus too?)
If I try, how do I call retentions? Is there a direct number?

dial *2 and say cancel when asked what you need help with. It will transfer you directly to retentions.

hmmm....so we can't ask for any type of discounts (corporate, CU,...) with SERO, but we can ask for service credit? What's the difference, then?

Do you happen to know what the 5pm code is? If you login to your account under the addon features is it listed there and when you scroll over you should see a webite with the code in it.
If you could please post the code I am sure others will really appreciate it. I know I would.

I signed up for SERO online on 7/16/08 and ordered two Q's with two accounts, one $100 (for me) and one $30 (for my wife). I got setup within a week without any problems. The Q rebates were processed -- they refused the $100 rebate on my wife's account because they said it did not qualify (a $34.99 plan minimum requirement). But on the other $100 account, they sent me a $300 rebate! Weird. Anyways, after about a month I decided the Q is a piece of crap, but I was stuck with it since the 30 days were up.
Fast forward to the holiday season -- I received the famous postcard informing me of the change to the terms of the agreement. I called retentions on 1/10/08 and spoke to a nice guy who offered to honor the change in terms allowing me to cancel the service without any ETF. Great. He offered to compensate me by paying the tax, etc. which I refused. He set up the account to cancel at the end of the billing cycle.
I called on the morning of 1/11/08 and spoke to a nice rep in retentions. I told her that the guy I spoke to on 1/10 had offered some perks, but I really just needed some new phones. I told her why the Q was crap, IMHO, and she asked what I wanted. Since I am a Palm person, I told her a "Palm based phone," not indicating I knew anything about it. She suggested the Centro at no cost to me, which would have been OK, if that was her final offer. I asked about the other Palm based units available, specifically the 755p and she said that the cost of that unit would require some money from me, since the Q was worth $449 and the 755p was worth $579. She told me, "How about $30 / phone? That is about the best I can do." I accepted and she said the phones would arrive in a day or two.
So, I am getting two 755p's for +$40 profit, since I originally paid $200 for 2 Q's, got a $300 rebate, and am paying $60 for the 2 755's.

Hello everyone. I'm in need of some advice.
I called retentions about 4 times this weekend trying to get some new phones. I never demanded that they give me a new phone. I simply told them that i was very very frustrated with my Treo 700p (constants resets, screen issues etc.), which is no lie, and asked if they could help me out. My two year is up in about 4 months and I've never called retentions for anything. Ive been nothing but polite with them but they refuse to give me any leeway. I also mentioned ATT, canceling my service due to changes in the contact etc. and nothing. Do I have to be a complete jerk to get what I want? Is it because there is some kind of a note on my account? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

yo man, sorry hear about ur phone and such. remember, retention isnt a trouble fixer but something to reward loyal customers. so if you have been with them a long time and always paid on time, then it should work. otherwise, i dunno what to say

wow nice deal! for sure something that i would like to get my hands on as i might be switching over to a sero plan. if you dont mind i had a few questions that could help me and others with better deals. how long have you been a customer? also, with all your calls to sprint were you talking to the retentions department? and lastly, you said you called in before the 30 day period, but what were you calling in for, to cancel the plan? arent you under contract and can not cancel without fees? what was your leverage?

I have been a customer for around 10 years and Retentions has ALWAYS been good to me.
We need 3 new phones on our Family plan, as well as adding unlimited text.
I think the texting will be easy to get.
What kinds of phones are they offering. I was wanting at least one MotoQ or Centro for free, is this possible? Then a couple of less expensive phones for the kids.

What are the ages of the phones you have now. You might swing a centro for free or close to it as well as the others for nothing or close to it depending on your current status.

Well, its been awhile since I have posted anything but anyway.
Called retentions for the for only the 2nd time in a year. First time was to get my broken phone taken care of. This time I thought I would be straight forward and ask if there was any discounts I could get for being a loyal customer.
In turn I recieved 20% off per month for 3 years, 10.00 monthly credit for 24 months for vision services and 300 text per line(I have three) free. Hell, I wanted to give him something by the time I got off the phone.LOL
All in all theres no need for me to call them agian anytime soon.:wavey:
O' I almost forgot, he hooked my second line(wifes) up with a Centro(pink) for 150.00 which I gladly paid for with my sprint rewards card.:hee:. I know people have paid less for it but her phone wasnt up for an upgrade for a year. So I choose not to push it and take happly what I recieved.

i just resign with retention and mentioned sero, since i dont use my phone that much and he knew what it was and gave it to me. i checked my plan online and it says "Emp F&F 500 Power Vision Adv" ive searched but didnt find anything solid. can someone tell me more about this or is this the SERO $30 plan.
Well I'm not sure exactly what this stands for, but I signed my mother-in-law up for SERO, and somehow in her activating the phone, the lady offered her SERO's specs at $15/month! When I log in to her account, "Emp F&F 500 Power Vision Adv" is what is listed.
I asked the lady if I could switch my SERO to this plan and she said "I am going to have to say...no." Worth a shot!

First of all I've been w/Sprint PCS for 10 years.
I just got off the retention department and they gave me the Treo 700wx for $149.99 no rebates or anything. Free shipping next day FedEx, free activation. They said they'd add it to my next bill.
My previous plan was fair and flex 800 min. evenings/nt/wk ends, Sprint-Sprint free, shared w/two phones $70. + $15 for Unlimited data/vision on one line= $85/mo + all the taxes and crap.
For the 2yr renewal they offered me the same plan only with 1000 minutes for $50 + $15 for the unlimited data/vision for the Treo. $65 total + all the taxes and crap.
I was pleased with the deal overall. I just had to renew one of my numbers at this time to get the deal. I told the rep from retention I'd renew my other line when I decided what phone model to get.
I need to decide what phone to get for the 2nd line for my dad (simple model w/big numbers!) to replace his.
Any suggestions on the model to pi
