Posted this in another thread but it fits here too.
Just got off the phone with them and got plan in my sig line below. Bill stays the same monthly and picked up 500 txt for FREE on both lines and Pwr vision for my line FREE and a $50 service credit. Plus got a new A900 for $100. Might have done better but I'm good with what I have. I'll give it a month or 3 then try eCare for 6PM N/W. Outside of maybe FIFM, that's about the only other thing I would need.
Update on the above-
received phone today, activated it with no problems. I had to have them add the code for the free vision (I need the ultimate which I don't have. I'm an ESPN junkie. lol). Anyway, got bumped to retentions since that's where it started, rep added it in with no problem and even set it up so that it was active tonight instead of at the billing cycle. Perfect transaction on my end. Just going to double check my bill next month to ensure it all goes smoothly but so far so good.

if you have read any of the posts on this website you would see that is a horrible plan. the only good part about the plan is the 1200 -sharing for 2 phones.
you should be getting text mess for free
nights and week for free
m2m should be free as well. you should at min be able to get free nights at 7 with free 500 text. drop that plan. your paying out the roof.

Things are apparently different with retention starting this month.

just keep trying..it all depends on the rep you get. i got a rep that would not help and just quote standard plans..then got a good one
dont worry just keep trying until you get a good rep..and dont get your account noted by the bad ones!
just search some tips when speaking to retentions on the site...there are a few good ones and then get your story st8 before you call....then call..ull be fine just dont give up

I just wanted to say thank you to this site for providing me with the inspiration to receive the following from Sprint:
SERO 500 Plan
25% Employee Discount (United States Postal Service)
recurring $5 off monthly bill
First Incomming Minute Free
500 Free Texts Per Month Free
Nights and Weekends starting at 6pm Free
They wouldn't budge on a new phone. They only offered $75 at first but I managed to get another $75 out of them for a total of $150. I put that toward a Fusic.
After haggling with Sprint E-care for about 2 weeks now, I am finished. I am happy with what I have. For someone who has only been with Sprint for a year and a half, I would say that I didn't do too bad.

1000 shared minutes -$50
pcs to pcs - free
7pm n&w - free
second line - free
international plan - free (I didn't even ask, he just offered it. I usually pay $4)
$50 credit for inconvenience (I've been without service for 3 weeks)
2 katanas (which I'm returning and paying $50 ea to upgrade to fusic) - $129 for both
but I ended up getting a credit for the retail price of one. 129-279 = $150 credit.
21% heirarchy discount
total $39.50 per month. I'm going to try for free or reduced pv when I get my fusic
I called 4 times and had a variety of experiences. One girl was really friendly and agreeable, but didn't really seem to know what she was doing and I never recieved the phone I ordered through her. One guy was insisting I pay almost double for half the minutes I get now, I told him that's ridiculous...cmon...who's going to willingly pay more for less? I was polite (I always am. too polite says my friends) and he actually hung up on me! I later reported this to the next guy I spoke with, who laughed and said he knew the guy. This last guy I spoke with was honest and very patient. He stayed on the phone with me for over 2 hours trying to sort things out for me, he had to chase down a supervisor each time he wanted to add something (I guess that's part of the change, they need to get approval for lots of stuff). I'm very happy with my plan and I'll stick with sprint until I move overseas.

After much haggling, several calls to Retention and a few Emails to Ecare......Here's my plan before taxes: $60 F&C Nationwide 1000 AT minutes shared unlimited N&W@7pm, free AAP, FIMF, free M2M, free roaming, 500 free texts, Free Power Vision, 25% corporate discount = $45.00/month before taxes plus I got 2 Lg Fusics(one for each line) Freeno activation!!! Also the addition of the power vision gave me a one time credit of $20. I argued that it was given too all new Sprint Users for free for 1 month :) and i have been with them for years.
I'm pretty happy with the plan. With the upgrade of AT min. from 500 to 1000 and my N&W dropping from 8pm to 7pm I have so many minutes left at the end of the month!!
I'd like to give a quick "shout out" to all the Spintusers.com guys who posted online all the great advice and a special "shout out" to those few who gave me thier sprint number so i could call retention and get an equally great deal!!!

Hello everyone, this is my first post here, but I've been a lurker for awhile. I actually used to work for sprint 2 years ago and know about retention and other secrets and tips. Yesterday I came on this site for the first time in about 5 months and discovered so many new tips and tricks that I haven't been taking advantage of, that i wanted to kick myself. But to make a long story short, this board has helped me out so much that i am forever greatful! After calling retention on my own, I managed to get my bill discounted so much, to the point that I am now PAYING LESS FOR 6 LINES THAN I PREVIOUSLY WAS PAYING FOR only 5 LINES. I got them to add the 15% discount to each of the 6 lines, as well as 500 free text to each one (except the main line, already had the gf unl txt for $5) also I am getting PV Plus Pack on the non-shared line for $10 and on the shared line for $5. Also on the new line getting free MtoM (they wanted to originally charge me $5). The next thing I will work on will be getting more of a discount on the a900 that they are sending me for my 6th line (so far I will be billed 89.99 for it).I will be making my donation to this site soon! Thanks to everyone for all the tips they share on here. :)

How fast does ecare respond? TIA
kulnet
08-15-2006, 02:17 PM
It really depends. I have found it to take longer to receive a response during the day. You're looking at anywhere from 30 minutes to hours. I have had much better luck at night. My wait times at night have been anywhere from 10 or 15 minutes to an hour at most.

Different time zones... I think ecare is in India.
I've had responses within minutes, and sometimes no response at all.
Average is within 4 hours.

I just got off of the phone with retentions, and with the help of Patrick, I'm a happy camper Maybe what i got is not as good as some of the deals people here have recieved, but I'm happy, and thats what matter to me. I have 5 lines on the acct, and this is what retentions just gave me:
2200 Anytime Mins F&F for $109.99
Second line Free
3 More lines at $10 each
Free N&W 7pm
Free M2M
Free 100 Text on 3 Lines
$15 unlimited text for me
$7.50 unlimited text for my wife
(2) $15 power vision with Sprint TV (originally the $25 pack) (total $30) (1st month free)
20% off Entire bill loyalty discount
Now my bill will be $153 plus tax for all 5 lines, where it has been $240 including tax for regular vision, no sprint tv, and unlimited text on 2 lines, and no text on 3 lines.
So im saving roughly $60 a month after taxes, and getting more features for my money. Now, that plan isnt TOO different from what sprint's offering openly to anyone, however my real savings came on my PHONES!
HERES THE REAL SAVINGS!
2 Treo 700's at $99 Each!
2 Katana's at $79 Each!
1 FREE KATANA!
Paid $359.XX for Retail over $2k in phones!! That made me happy Plus all the fees to activate these phones are waived.
So check this out. My new plan kicked in yedterday, so I called sprint right before and got another great retentions rep which helped save MORE money!
I got them to give me this....
PowerVision......
WAS $15 each for 2 lines.....$30 for both. ($25 each package w/sprint tv)
NOW $10 each for 2 lines (no sprint tv) and $10 monthly credit....so instead of $30 a month for powervision for 2 lines, i'll now be payinf $10 BOTH LINES!!
Text Messaging
WAS $15 unlimited my line, $7.50 wifes line.....so $22.50 for both.
NOW $8 my line, $7.50 wifes line PLUS an $8 monthly credit so now only $7.50 BOTH LINES UNLIMITED TEXTING.
I'm wayyy happier now :)
can't wait to see the bill to see what I'm saving....ive lost track. plus I want to make sure all my credits are there.

Okay, so what'd you say? Since I got my new phone, my wife wants one. I'm wondering if I can go a similar route since my new plan doesn't take effect until the 20th of this month. I'm not really in need of any other perks just another cheap, or free, phone.

Looks like you're going through e care? I called and talked to retentions straight. Much easier that may IMO, get things done right away.
I basically told the rep, hey my new plan is starting and i want to make sure that everything is what i agreed on with the rep that gave it to me. Then when we were going over it, i told him i wanted to change my PV plan to the cheaper one because i dont use sprint tv, then he said ok. I also asked him to activate the 6700 i just got for my wife, and i need the PV on that as well. He said since its $20 on my line (then a $10 credit) it would be half of that on her line, so $10, and then a $10 credit. I said GREAT!
Then when we got to the texting, I told him i was supposed to get free unlimited texts for 2 of my 5 lines. He said thats not what the account was showing. Then he said the best he could do was get me $8 vision, and then an $8 recurring credit, and he had to leave my second line at $7.50 for unlimited text. I said, fine, and that was that.
You just have to be real nice with them and you'll get what you want.

Most of the time, it's full price for the phone, but an instant credit to your account. I was charged $350 for my a900, but at the same time, a credit of $350 was issued to my account. When the bill came, aside from the text indicating that I had purchased the phone, there was no sign of any purchase activity in the price.

Was on the phone with retentions last night and think I did pretty good.
Old Plan:
350 anytime $35

unlimited N&W with nite starting @ 8pm
pcs to pcs
New Plan
A900 $79 Katana $79
1200 Shared for $60
Free 500 Txts
Free pcs to pcs
Free nites at 7pm
Unlimited N&W
Power Vision (with Video) $10 minus $10 service credit on the A900
Vision $10 minus $10 service credit for Katana
10% loyalty
= 54 + taxes
They wouldn't budge on the phones, she said it was due to changes since the start of the month. As for text messages she offered $8 bucks for unlimited or $5 for 300. Once I mentioned 500 she gave that for free.

Please spare me....I've been with Sprint for 7 years, I buy phones month after month with Sprint at full retail and until recently didnt have a bill that wasnt less then 450$ a month. Plus all the people on my account are consently buying ringers, AIM access, Screensavers, Wireless backup, they always need accessories. And my bill is always paid in Full and On-time If anything i keep the ship aflot and sprint knows this...They're not going to let a 7 line account get away from them. Whats "Raping" us as you put it is the merger with Nextel and Sprint's tired marketing campainge that isnt bringing in the customer

After way too much time on the phone with Sprint, here is my new plan...
2 A900's, 1 Katana all $50 each
F&F 800 minutes $69.99 + $9.99 add a phone
7PM nights, PCS to PCS, roaming, all that jazz
500 text free on each line
Vision on the Katana $10 -$10 credit
Power Vision Plus $20 on main line - $20 credit
Power Vision Plus on other A900 $10 - $10 credit
20% loyalty discount
20% corporate discount
$51.19 before taxes.
I'm going to try ecare in a few days for 6PM nights, but other than that I think I did OK. Didn't want to pay $50 for the phones, but wasn't interested in another 1+ hr call to a retention rep either. Thanks to everyone for the tips.

1500 minutes for 60 dollars (don't ask me where they got that)
2 free AAP
free a900
2 free lx550's (I asked for lx 350's)
m2m included
roaming included
FIMF free all lines
6 pm nights 10/10 credit
unlimited text per line 8/8 credit
PV 20/20 credit
PV 10/10 credit
PV 10/10 credit
5 dollar per month service credit
10 % loyalty discount
23 percent NVP
50 dollar courtesy credit (renewal bonus?)
35 dollar credit for taking so long on hold.....
BLEH!
I'm through helping my friends. I hate calling *2.
I tell ya, those Iowa reps are awesome awesome awesome!
Had the reps supervisor confirm everything was correct, some codes were acting up and he had to verify them or whatever.
We called back like 4 times to verify everything.
Probably helps that he's been with Sprint since forever...

Wow! That's an awesome plan!! Yeah, your friend owes you big time. Quick question, how do you know where the reps are located (i.e. accent, by asking etc)? I saw this in a couple of other threads too where the poster knew what calling center he was connected to.

Here's my new plan... not stellar compared to most people here, but I was able to "get more" than what I would have gotten at T-Mo...
I basically called and ask them to confirm my agreement expiration date (which I knew, but wanted an excuse) and after confirming the end dates, the lady asked if there was anything she could do to make my plan better... I said I was looking into T-Mo and that for the same price I'd get 200 more minutes there and with the Sidekick plan I'd be getting unlimited text, while I only got 100 texts with my current Vision plan. She then asked if I'd be getting 7pm nights, M2M, roaming, etc. with T-Mo as if testing my knowledge. I said the T-Mo plan and another Cingular plan I had looked at had all that (T-Mo doesn't have 7pm but Cingular has it for $7). I then told her I'd be very happy if I could have FIMF to offset T-Mo's additional 200 minutes, a bucket of 1,000 text messages to offset the Sidekick plan and switch 7pm to 6pm nights.
She said she could offer 180 courtesy minutes, unlimited text for $8 or 500 text free and 6pm for free. She said FIMF was not compatible with my F&F plan, but she'd be glad to give it to me on a F&C plan. I asked her what she could offer and she said she could offer 1,000 min. for $50, but I'd lose my free roaming (which I received about a week ago) and nights would start at 8pm. She also said "why would anyone want to switch to a F&C plan? Yes, you'd get FIMF, but you'd have $0.40/min. overage!"
I said I'd have to think about it, because another issue I have with Sprint is the inability to add a third line. I said I had been approved for 4 lines at T-Mo and I needed to move my mom from her standalone Verizon plan by year's end. I said Sprint's inability to add that line to my plan was increasing our costs. She said if I paid down to zero every time for the next six months, they *will* change my credit class. (The rep I had talked to about a week ago said the same exact thing). In the meantime, she said she'd offer me an additional 15% discount on top of my 25% business discount. To me that sounded like BINGO!
I then asked her about a $50 credit for renewing my contract, which the other rep had offered, she said yes, you can have that too, but it's only for the main line. I then asked about the $50 *per line* credit I was offered upon handset upgrade in addition to my rebates. She said none of that is changing so you can go shopping for a new handset now or for the holidays...
So in brief, in the past week and a half, I've gained free roaming, three extra hours of talk at no charge every weekday compared to T-Mo, 500 text messages to protect me from overages since my original plan only had 100, 180 minutes to protect me from overages, I was able to keep my original F&F plan with overages at $5/100 minutes, I got $50 off my next bill and I have $200 toward a new phone for line 1 and $125 for line 2. Fits my current needs! Thanks Sprint!

Wow! That's an awesome plan!! Yeah, your friend owes you big time. Quick question, how do you know where the reps are located (i.e. accent, by asking etc)? I saw this in a couple of other threads too where the poster knew what calling center he was connected to.
I ask. :tu:

Any feedback on the plan I posted yesterday? and, forgive my ignorance (I looked around but the search results were not quite what I was looking for) is there anything as a "grace period" after renewing such as when we first sign up? If I change my mind about what I got, can I go back to my old plan and be out of contract or can I still negotiate something else?
Please advice...
Thanks. :)

Hi all, I need some advice on the retention plan offered to me...good or can do better?:
1000 family share plan $50
Power Vision, M2M, No Activation Fee, Fusic phone for $100
Total cost after taxes: $53
I wasn't able to get free text messaging or 6pm nights.
Freak4Dell
08-24-2006, 12:18 AM
Hmm...you got Power Vision for free, but not text messaging? That's really weird. I'd call back and see if you could get text messaging, but if you won't use it, there's no point. Other than that, the plan sounds good. How many lines? Just 2?
paulsaini
08-24-2006, 12:27 AM
Yes 2 lines. I first asked for unlimited txt. He said $8
Then I said 500 for free he said the usual line "that code isn't possible with Power Vision" haha as cheap as I am I then said ok I'll settle if you will give me 300 txt messages for free. No cigar.

Does anyone here have the PPC-6700 phone? I was able to get a offer for that phone for $340 after discount. It's that or the Fusic. I chose Fusic but I am tempted...and before I call back I'd like to hear from someone who has used the 6700.

This morning I called Sprint and basically told retention it was a no-deal if they were unable to give me either 7pm nights or 500(!!!) sms, OR $10 discount for second line.
The rep decided it was better to cancel my offer than to honor one of the three. I need suggestions as to my next steps and options. Anyone?
jumonjii
08-24-2006, 11:12 AM
It's best to take the offer they gave you, then attempt getting the perks via ecare.
the retention plan is setup for 8 pm nights, so it's unlikely the 7pm code will work with that plan. Don't know for sure though.... my friend's dad was offered that plan and the retention rep was unable to get the 7pm or 6pm code to work.
It also should include the second line for free.
Your other option is to get a standard plan with the free perks if they are willing to give them to you. With m2m and 7 or 6pm nights, it's unlikely you will need 1000 minutes unless you call a lot of non Sprint customers and also call before your nights kick in.
When I first signed up for Sprint, I had a 500 minute plan and was using about 350 minutes per month. When I added m2m, my usage went to about 200 minutes per month. When they offered me 8pm nights, my usage dropped to about 150 minutes per month.
With my current plan, I use less than 100 minutes.

That's odd. It sounds like they gave you 2 different plans. A 1000 minute F&C plan, and a 300 minute free incoming plan. I've never heard it happen like this. I have the 1000 minute F&C plan, and all my AAPs just show up as an AAP with charges of either $7.99 or $0.00.

If you account mins are shared then the N/W at 7 need to only be on your main line to effect all your subs. So all your lines should have it

Well, its not really on the main line, its on one of the Add-A-Lines.
I asked for the N/W at 7 when I was activating THAT phone.
I looked at the bill, and the N/W at 7 was on the Add-A-Line, but it wasn't on the other lines.

Long time lurker, first time poster . . .
We currently have two lines, bill of close to $100 a month and using the old Sanyo 8200s. I want/need the Blackberry 7130 and my wife could use a new phone.
Statement: It appears as though I am not going to get a better plan until it is time to renew, which is in April.
Question: Is that true? Is it worth it to try and get some things thrown in at this point? Right now the only benefit I received is N/W at 7 pm. Because I eventually want to add the Blackberry should I made a push now for Vision, or text messages?
Thanks in advance,

I'm trying to get an idea of what I should conider an acceptable offer from retentions. I'm currently not under a contract and have some cheap busniess plans for 2 phones but they don't include anytime minutes. I'm looking to move to a shared plan with anytime minutes, get as many perks as I can for as little as possible (who isn't ;)).
Can someone give me an idea of what I should be shooting for with retensions? I don't want to accept something that isn't good, but I also don't want to hold out for something that's not reasonable. I also plan on contacting eCare in my 30 days to try and get additional perks if possible.
Thanks..

If they don't offer you the 50 dollar per month, 1000 minute plan with free AAP, then they aren't offering you a good deal. Anything less (in minutes) for that price is a standard plan.
I think nights start at 8 for that plan, so you may have to cough up 5 dollars for 7pm nights. Far as I knew, the codes don't work for free 7pm nights on that plan.
Dan
08-27-2006, 01:18 PM
Free 7pm codes do work on the $50/1000 plan. Unless they have changed the codes recently to make them no longer work, they were fine when they were on my plan. Swapped them out for free roaming and pay for my 6 now so I cant tell you for sure :)
Proctor

So the $50/1000 plan doesn't include free roaming or 7PM nights? Is there anything else that's different from the new plans?
dand411 - To respond to your post in the other thread.. We do currently pay for the minutes of our calls, so I'm spending $40 a month with them now(plus tax), and not really using the phones that much..and it's been that way for 6 years. I'm hoping that since I've been their customer for 6 years and my bill will actually go up as a result of this, they'll treat me well :)

Proctor, look around and see what works for you in terms of minutes and price. Once you've figured that out, call retentions and tell them, "look, I've been a loyal customer for xx years and now, this is what my wife and I need for (our jobs or whatever, you can make this part up), so I was wondering what Sprint can do for me." If they say that they can't do anything for you, then just say "I'd hate to cancel Sprint but if I can get a better and cheaper plan with another carrier, then I just might have to do it." Your leverage is huge, you've been a long time customer, and even if you cancelled your Sprint plan, you'll get charged a $150-200 ETF, and if you go to another carrier, you'll more than make that up in phone savings/discounts on a new contract. Sprint knows this, you should also let them know that you know this so that they'll be more willing to work with you.

I called last night and the guy I spoke with seemed like he was in a hurry to get me off the phone. He was giving me conflicting information and told me to go to a Sprint store and talk to them.
I just said "OK, thank you." And got off the phone with him. The farthest thing from his mind was to sign me up for anything. I even asked him, "Can I get a contract with you?" That's when he referred me to the store.
I'll try again today and hopefully get someone better.

I forgot to mention... be very patient. You may have to call numerous times to get the plan you want. In total, I must've called 8 times, day and night. The other important thing is that you need to know exactly what you want before calling them. Tell them that you're in need of a new plan with xxx minutes, but you're concerned about cost. You notice that a competitior had a similar plan to what you're looking for and in addition, you can get a new phone (tell them the one you really want) for xxx dollars (look for prices online, Sprint will sometimes PM Amazon.com and Wirefly.com). And blah, blah, blah. You may already know all of this, so sorry if you did. Trust me, Sprint'll take care of you if you ask correctly.

If my goal is to get the following...
* PPC-6700 for $199 or less, free overnight (to get it before the hurricane), waived activation fee (the last Sprint-subsidized phone I bought was in 2000... the rest have all been eBay and Lockline)
* switch from 450/2150 plan to current Fair & Flexible 450 (same price... $39.99)
* upgrade from $15 vision to Unlimited PAM ($39.99)
* 10% loyalty discount off voice & data (Sprint customer for 7 years, ~2 years out of contract)
Should I mention the two-year contract and try to negotiate for the phone first, or should I start with the voice & data changes (so it'll be obvious to the account rep that I'll be spending ~$70/month + taxes vs the $55/month + taxes I'm paying now) and THEN go for the phone?
Or try for the phone, expecting to be rebuffed, proceed to the voice/data changes, ask again, and decline if they won't give me the phone, changes, and discount I want?
Would I be pushing my luck too much to ask for overnight shipping (since we might be having a hurricane here tomorrow night)? Is it possible to get Sprint to arrange for me to just go to one of the local stores to pick up the phone myself? It seems like THAT would be a win-win for me AND for Sprint, since I'd get to have my new toy right away, and Sprint would save about $15-30 in shipping charges... but for some weird reason, most companies don't seem to think that way...
Should I initially ask for a lower price on the phone ($99? $150?) just to give the agent room to negotiate upward (and presumably make a supervisior happy)? Or will the agent likely be happy I'm not asking for the impossible and be glad to just try and find a way to make it happen if it can be done?
Proctor

OK.. second try and I think I did good enough for me for now. I went with the F&F 550 plan for $59.99. I didn't want to try and hassle for the $50/1000 plan and try to get an add a phone for free, free m2m, free roaming, free 7pm nights, etc. And 550 should be good enough with the m2m ad 7PM nights.
I got an A920 for free and a Fusic for $100.
I also got her to give me a 10% loyalty discount and vision on both phones for $10 total.
Then I can slap my %25 employee discount on top of that, and I actually do have 2 $5 a month flyers for my 2 lines that I can call and have added. If I get both of those, it will be $39 before taxes. Now I just have to try and work ecare for texts and 6pm nights :).
Question about the $5 off flyers. Should I wait until after my plan goes into effect or can I do it before?
gosprint
08-28-2006, 06:48 PM
I tried doing the $5 flyer after I negotiated a new plan with retentions, the rep said that since I'm still within my "right plan promise" period of 3 months, I can't have that added, it will be available after 3 months, when I will be required to resign a contract. I called a couple more times, but other times I didn't get an explanation, just that it is not currently available but "check back soon." So you might want to do that asap if there's any truth to that

Hi,
Man this forum is awesome.
Warnin long post follows
Here's what I got
3 year old customer just coming off 2 yr contract
Family Shared Plan (I believe not a FC, just before that was avaiable)
3 phones
1100 min anytime
Free NW at 9pm
105 (65 Primary + 20 each addtl phone = $105)
-27% corp discount
=76.65 month before taxes
I am seriously considering leaving to sign up with Tmobile for their
1000 min shared plan
I can get that plan for
80 primary and secondary + 10 for third phone
with 3 Tmobile MDAS
with a 12% corp discount for $70.38 a month
all 3 mdas free after rebate by signing up with letstalk.com
no data plan required (though it looks like I can sign up for unlimited web for $6 per phone)
Now I'm thinking of asking sprint retention for what I think is similiar
(3 wifi phones
3 PPC 6700 for free
1400 min plan
90 primary and secondary + 10 3rd phone
100 before taxes
-27% disc = $73
I would like opinions on if sprint would even consider this to keep me since their PPC 6700's seem to go for so much compared to the subsidized MDAs from tmob? Could sprint even sweeten the pot a little further you think? Basically I woud like the wifi and real keyboard for emails as you can see from the phones I'm considering.
I 'm even open to considering 3 sprint blackberries since it is a cheaper phone I just don't want to pay more per month than I need to (duh).
Thoughts?

Hi All, this forum really inspired me to get even more out of my service that i've been very happy with from Sprint.
I spoke with Greg, and i got 1000 anytime, 6pm N/W, and free mobile to mobile for 39.99, and a deal (349.00) for the 700p (not as good as some, but i've had a few late payments, and i admit i didn't have the name of a site to double check with, oh well, still not bad).
I have unlimited txt for $8, and i had an old vision line that I had for $10 unlimited pics and internet, which i'm going to try to match once i actually get the 700p on Friday (Maybe agree to a $15 if PAM is included?). I also think i'll try for the free roaming as i've just recently noticed some roaming in my apartment that i never had before.
What do you think? any suggestions for my follow up on Friday?
Edit: I forgot to mention that i've been with sprint for 5 years as a single phone account holder.

Well, earlier today the 29th I spoke with retention after I came to a boiling point of an ongoing strugle of crappy phones and incorrectly stated prices on my account for almost a year. (ever since going to my MM9000, go figure) Anyways today after speaking with 2 people that identified themselves as supervisors and later being told by retention they werent this is the offer I was given.
Fair and Flexible for Families 800
NW @ 7
PCS2PCS
Roaming
Old style additional minute charges not the 50 min blocks.
Unlimited Text both lines
Sprint Power Vision on primary line
Sprint Vision on secondary line
for the low monthly price of $79.99
And to address the issue of them replacing my 9000 with a refurb A920 (comparable? i think not, so it has bluetooth wasn't worth losing ready link or my nice big screen) I have also been given a discount to call back in when the 700wx releases (31st"today") of $460 - tax as well.. So i will be paying $190 for the 700wx
so recap Plan from $130 to $79.99 and $650 phone for $190 needless to say I have never been happier with a wireless carrier!

i have had HORRIBLE trouble with the phone we have had for the last couple years, and sprint was really bad about telling me it was fixed when it wasn't. so we are really glad to be getting some new phones, but i was trying to get an idea of what to look for before we go into the sprint store. there are two of us and we are bothing looking for nice looking/but reliable phones.
what do you guys suggest would be the best deal for this date (sept 1)?
First i'd suggest the Samsung A920, inexpensive, bunch of features and reliable from my experience. While you're there be sure to negotiate the best deal that you can get. Mention a family member or friend has whatever plan they offer you but with Nights and weekends at 6 or text messaging option added free. (plug in what you need there). Though i never tried to negotiate perks before having service I'd imagine they'd consider it with two potential customers in their store. Good luck, and enjoy sprint.
Edit: whoops didnt notice that you already had sprint lol. Call retentions first and ask for whatever incredible famly plan you see on this thread (cant get much better than those anywhere) and a good deal on a phone (A920 > most in its price range). lol sorry for the dumb post

Guys, I need some advice. Right now retention gave me 1000 shared 2line plan with 8pm nights with m2m, and power vision for $50.
Would it be wise to stay here or try retention and switch to a sero plan? My 2 yr contract wont start for another day

Gotta weigh the pros & cons and your own priorities.
Switching to SERO means two seperate accounts which would cost at least $10 more a month (two SERO $30 500 AT minute plans). It would add free roaming and earlier N&W.
As for your present plan, it's cheaper and I would think you might be able to easily talk retention into adding free 7 PM N&W. The addition of free roaming and/or 6 PM N&W is also possible though more difficult to get. You also might be able to get a loyalty discount with the present plan (not possible with SERO). Discounted or free Power Vision is a very attractive perk on SERO plans but you've already got it on your present plan for free.
Both deals are nice and can't be matched by any other wireless company so don't fret too much - you'll have a great plan either way.

I personally like the plan that you were offered. Everyone that I help with Sprint plans usually take this plan with the shared minutes because one person talks on their phones more than the other. Also, you might want to get text messaging added if you need it. (also discounted).

Hey all, first posting here, long, long, long (+2 yrs) lurker. I'm a former Sprint employee and thought I knew all the tips and tricks, but must admit that I've gotten some good help from here. Here's my old plan:
$85 MRC
2000 Anytime
Free PCS2PCS
$0 MRC for a 2nd line
$15 MRC Power Vision
Well, where I had been a high end user, I am now a lower (300-400) per month user. I didn't really want to keep the 2nd line (which I was out of contract on anyways) but I wanted a better than advertised deal. I was a littler worried that the $30 SERO plan wouldn't have enough anytime mintues (I don't own a landline phone), and after calling and speaking to retention, going in stores, et al, I FINALLY got ahold of a competent person with customer service skills. She was the first out of a dozen people that knew about SERO first of all. Once she talked to me about the SERO details I prayed that I didn't drop the call, which I didn't. Here's what I got setup with:
$100 Svc credit (I bought the A900 a few months ago and don't need a new phone)
$40 MRC
1000 ATM
6pm N&W
Free Roaming
Free PCS2PCS
FIMF
Free PV
Free VC (she was surprised I wanted it when I asked for it...gotta love the wrestling updates :headbang2 )
2yr term
The only things I added on were the ERP (I'm brutal on my phones) and the Roadside Rescue (when your car phone is worth more than your car, you need Roadside Rescue).
My only concern is that I just stated to use a bluetooth connection to connect my A900 to my laptop for internet access instead of the USB cable. The display actually has a timer on it now versus the PKT that used to be on there. I never received the dreaded "No more teathering without PAM" text message, so I am just nervous that this may screw things up for me. I just like that I can charge and be on the web finally!
Again, thanks all for the advice and tips on here.

Ok, update on my Sprint Account. Dont ask me why, and don't ask my how, because I have no idea, but GREAT things have been happening to me when I call sprint. I couldn't be happier. For those that haven't read my past posts, heres what has been happening. My first post I made was about the plan change and phones i bought, which is this:
I was happy. But when my new plan took effect, I went ahead and called back. Then this happened.
Needless to say, I was ecstatic. Well, one of my Katana's was blue. It was for my mom, she said she wanted pink like my wife's phone. So i call sprint, and ask them to exchange. Well, the pink one gets here, i send the blue one back. Few weeks later, no credit for the blue one i returned. Yesterday I call sprint again. After an hour of figuring out what went wrong, the rep tells me that from whats on the account I should actually owe them $1100!!! I said, no, check the notes from the first retentions rep i spoke to. She reads the notes, puts me on hold to talk to a supervisor, and comes back on the line. She says, according to what I have paid, the credits recieved, and the credits i SHOULD have recieved, SPRINT OWED ME $550 CREDIT!!
I almost fell out of my chair!!! Bottom line, now sometime today, or tomorrow (she had to get the credit approved by her supervisor because it was too much for her to issue right there) I will have another $550 credited to my account. Right now, with that second Katana on my acct at $279.99 (the one i returned) the bill is at $350. So this month will be free, then I still have $200 credit to pay for another 2 months almost of service. Jeez im happy!
The rep i spoke to, sweet girl, is going to give me a call tomorrow to make sure the credit was given, etc. Im going to ask her if i can exchange my Treo 700p for the 700wx, see if she can do something, even though its been over 30 days. I guess we'll see :D

Renention Offer update:
Talked to Heather yesterday and got the UPS tracking numbers for the phones. Were discussing some of the plan options in regards to vision. I asked her how much it would cost and the $20.00 pack she can give me for $10.00. I told her a friend of mine had gotten it for free.
She told me that due to abuse of Retentions, they have had their codes cut in half and can't offer as much as they were able to a few months ago.....

Here is my happy experience with ecare!
I sent this:
Hi,
I'm not sure how this works but I was talking to a guy about cell phones and he said he recently was planning on switching to verizon but got a discounted plan from sprint. He said it was probably because he was with you for 5 years and it was a bit of a 'thank you' plan. I have been with Sprint for 7 years and have also thought about changing providers at the end of my contract. But after hearing the plan you guys gave him I figured if I could get a similar plan, it would be worth it to stay. He said he had
-1200 minutes Shared between 2 phones for $60
-unlimited N&W- Nights starting @ 7pm for both phones
-500 Texts for each phone free
-Power Vision for each phone for $10/each
-10% loyalty
for around $80/month. He also said that he got $150 towards a new phone.
Currently I am paying nearly $115/month for 800 min shared on 2 phones and I get less than half of the extras and wondered if I could get the plan like his.
I'm not sure how it is all supposed to work so if you could please let me know I would appreciate it.
Thank you for your time.
Thank you for contacting Sprint together with Nextel. I will be happy to assist you regarding the service.
You are right in stating that you have a long term relationship with us. Considering your loyalty, I have decided to give you the following options on the renewal of the two-year Sprint Subscriber Agreement.
1. The special plan for $60.00 with 1200 Anytime minutes
2. Unlimited Night & Weekend 7pm option for free
3. 500 text messaging option for free
4. 10% discount against the monthly service charges
We are sorry to say you that we can't offer you the Power Vision Pack for free because this option is no longer available for free.
Please write back to us with your confirmation about the renewal of the agreement. So that we can make the changes on your account.
Thank you for emailing us.
I emailed back trying to see if I can get the PV+PicMail on each phone for $10, currently it's $15/each phone. I'd also like to keep my 5% Credit Union discount. And I'm trying to get the $150 or more off the 700wx as a third phone..
Has anyone emailed ecare shortly after a new contract and gotten free AAP?

I would've haggled for 6pm nights and unlimited texting for free.
500 sounds like a lot but incoming and outgoing text are counted so it's more like 250...
Good luck with the phone though, they may give you a better deal if you've never upgraded your phone in the time you've been with Sprint... they did with me.

Well compared to 100 text messages, which is like 50 in and out.. 500 is waay more than enough. I usually only hit about 80/month anyway.
And in 7 years I've never taken the $150 discount. I didnt even know about it until 3-4 years ago, and at that time, I traded my life away for a better 2phone shared F&F deal which turned out to not be a deal at all. This plan tho, I would consider a major improvement and I think I'm about due for a nice rebate :)

So in response to my question about $10 PV.. I got this response:
Thank you for your reply.
The power vision pack costs $20.00 on the primary line and $10.00 on the secondary lines.
This pack includes the following:
- Unlimited Web (Internet) Access
- Unlimited Sprint PCS Picture Mail and Video Mail
- Sprint TV Channel 1
Regarding the $150.00 rebate on the new phone with a new line:
You will receive a rebate of $150.00 rebate against the handset you will purchase with an additional line.
As your account will be provisioned with a special plan, the discount can't be provisioned. This plan is not offered in general.
Thank you for emailing us.
Since when is PV $20 unless you are using it to dialup through. The total ends up being the same for me if I just stayed with $15/ each phone for that package.
Another question.. Instead of getting the $150 rebate off my 3rd phone, I think I might be better off going through the sprintnetwork deal on ebay to get the 700wx for $99 with 2 year contract.. That would add on to the 2 yr contract I would get for the retention plan, but still the ETF is still cheaper than the $400 I'd be getting off the retail price with rebate. And thats IF i want to quit sprint.
I wonder, has anyone got their PV changed mid-contract by simply emailing ecare and asking them?

What's strange is that I found out that this unlimited SMS code (the new one), expires after 2 months of free unlimited SMS? W-T-F? I am writing to them requesting on the problem since why would I want to pay $3/mo more when I am already paying $5/mo for unlimited SMS? Is this an example of Sprint math? You get the same service, but pay $3/mo more?

I noticed that too with the new code. You can't click on it and stuff like that. The old one, I was able to do so. I hope there isn't an expiration code on the free unlimited SMS since that totally defeats the purpose of changing from a $5/mo plan for unlimited sms to $8/mo plan with the first 2-months free. W-T-F is going on with the Sprint math people?

Exactly! Mine is $8 charge with a $3 credit. I am asking Sprint what's the difference between my existing one that was removed this morning that was charging me $5/mo and this one that is a $8 charge with a $3 credit? Apparently, they couldn't do a $8 charge and a $8 credit. Strange.
Totally agree ... Free is better than 5 dollars per month, but I don't see the change that Sprint did. Maybe that's Sprint math, but something I don't get:
$8 - $3 = $5
$5 - $0 = $5

Dear Jeff,
Thank you for contacting Sprint together with Nextel. I will be happy to provide you information about the plan details. Power Vision pack is free for you along with picture mail option. 500 Text Messaging option is also free for both these lines. However, this information will not be available online. The above information will reflect on your bill. The service credit of $150.00 has also been applied on your account. This credit will reflect against the monthly charges on your future bills.
The Business eCare rep by the name of John is trying to explain that I am getting a big benefit by doing this. Can someone explain this to me?
I would email ecare and ask them what is going on with it.
I was going to say, maybe the credit is less because you have another discount on your account?
My sms credit is for the full amount, my 6pm nights credits is around 8 dollars though because of the other credits on my account.

Finally activated my 700wx today.
Here's what I got when activating my phone:
Mobile to Mobile for Free (Savings $5.00)
Hubby's Vision $10.00 (Savings $5.00 from his old vision/picutre mail plan $15.00)
Vision $20.00 for only $10.00 (Savings of $10, hoping to get the $25.00 for $10, want TV on the phone)
So far we are saving $30 (got earlier 6pm nights for free)
Still Want:
2000 anytime minutes to increase to 2500 anytime minutes
Ultimate Vision for only $10.00 ($15.00 savings)
300 txt for free on Hubby's line
Unlimited txt for my line (should have already, but waiting to verify later on this week)
Any Suggestions as to how to get the last three
Thanks

You will most likely have to give a bit to get the others.
Sprint is more flexible if the customer is willing to meet somewhere in the middle instead of just Sprint giving away everything.
Like the folks who want a lot of the perks for free, but don't want to extend their contract....no point in doing that if the customer can bail at any time.

OMG!! Can I tell you how much Sprint Urks me sometimes?!
Called back to check up on our plan and what a nightmare!
Why is this so difficult? UGGGHHH!!!
Ok, so after talking to Latrice for about an hour I think I got everything straightened out!
Here is what we have:
Main Line:
2500 - $100
Roaming - $5.00
Vision Premium Package - Free
Picture Mail $5.00
Unlimited Texting - $8.00
6:00 pm - $10.00
M2M - Free
2nd Line:
Free
Shared Minutes
Roaming - $5.00
Power Vision - $10.00
100 Text messages - Free
M2M - Free
Total: $143.00
Less 25% United Arilines Discount: $35.75
Total (before taxes): $107.25
Taxes Estimated $11.64
New Total: $118.89
Old Monthly Service Charge with taxes and discounts applied: $111.14
What we had before:
2000 anytime minutes
8:00 pm Nights and weekends
Vision on both phones
$15.00 Charge for vision
$5.00 Charge for Picture Pack
100 txt on 2nd line
Unlimited txt on 1st line
$5.00 M2M charge
$10.00 in Roaming for both phones
So we are paying: $7.75 more per month, but we have an additiona 500 anytime minutes and nights and weekends at 6:00pm, plus unlimited vision on both phones.
I know it's not the best retention plan, but I'm happy, we got everything we wanted, except for TV on the 700WX. I guess I can live with out.
I talked to Latrice in California, she gave me her direct dial: 877-816-7937, Supervior Frank.
Plus a $25.00 service credit to cover the charges taknig place in the middle of the plan. Bummed that I have to pay for unlimited texting (use to have it free) but the extra 4000 minutes makes up for it. Especially since I have to help plan a wedding in Iowa for next year.
Have a great day everyone!

I called my account rep at 4:30 am HST (9:30 am her time) and she is like ... W-T-F happened? :irked: There is a full investigation going on why that grandfathered code was removed from my account dispite high-priority notes stating not to remove any grandfathered codes! She was floored to the max!!! She is like ... errr ... W-T-F???? Exactly!!!! I dunno!!!
After all is done, there is a 15% discount on the line of service plus (basically, after all is done with, it comes to $7.50 off per month), 500 messages were added to all the lines on the account for this major screw up at no monthly charge. Got voice command free on all lines on the account too.

I just renegotiated an old plan through retentions. I think it's pretty sweet. The guy was cool, and added a 15% loyalty for 6+ years of being with Sprint, plus gave me the 6pm nights deal, and removed the $10 for night & weekends. Most importantly, I kept the unlimited free vision & sms text messaging.
Let me know what you think about this plan:
PCS Free & Clear Plan
$85.00 PCS Free & Clear Plan
2000 Anytime Minutes
Night & Weekends -- Free
Unlimited PCS To PCS Calling -- Free
Nights Starting At 6pm -- Free
Unlimited Vision (not power vision) -- Free
Unlimited SMS -- Free (with the vision)
Free 2nd phone -- Free (just for using plan minutes- no vision or SMS on 2nd phone)
America - Roaming Included -- $5
PCS equipment protection -- $6
40% discount -- 25% corporate discount through my company + 15% loyalty discount
Caller ID, Call Waiting
Three-Way Calling
Voicemail
Additional Anytime Minutes $.40 Per Min.
Now that's a sweet plan!!

Need some input, just renegotiated for a new contract, got a nice deal. The only thing I didnt get was some extra AT minutes. I have 2000, was looking for 2500. I was told by the rep the only other plan was 3000 and that I would have to pay the extra money for it. Anyone know if there is a plan between 2k and 3k for around $100.00?

I just canceled Sprint. My Goal was to get a new phone, LG or A900 or Katana for free, a service credit and a slightly better plan. I have 300 any time minutes, 9pm nights.
I have been with Sprint 4 years. Same plan all 4 years. I have had the Sanyo 8100 for 3 years. It has not worked for the last 3 months. Doesnt hold a charge. So I have wasted $100+ this summer.
I called a few times, best offer I got was $150 off a phone and $100 service credit, never got into upgrading the plan.
Called tonight, got some idiot, canceled me right away. Best he offered was LG for $130.
Were my expectations too high? After what I have been reading, I don't think they were.

Just a quick note here for anyone that might care. I posted it in the eCare offers thread but it's more of a retention code...
...FIFM is still around. I had some trouble with eCare and them saying that it wasn't around. Short story, the code is still around, you just need to ask.
Hope the info. was redundant, just giving a little FYI.

No sounds like a bit of bad luck on the reps you are geting. I suggest calling and saying how much you love the service, be verypolite and get them happy. Tell them you've been a loyal customer for 4 years and are looking around at other carriers but really prefer sprint. Tell them exactly what you want and ask what tey can do for you. The key is to be polite, nice but also firm

I am by no means an expert here but you might have been shooting a little high on the phone part. The plan would have been easy enough I think. But I think the whole phone thing goes alot on just what your avg. bill is. Again, I could be WAY off base here. Last week the best offer I got on a Fusic was $150 (which I took). But, then again, you had a set goal and you stuck to it, I would never blame anyone for that.

Incredible. Maybe they need to revise the system to put the high priority notes in English, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Indian, Spanish, Italian, German and Russian just to be sure. Amazing people that don't follow instructions ... and this is Business (!!!) Customer Care!
Now you wonder why Sprint gets all sorts of irate customers ... go figure!

I've been with sprint for 3 years, and my 2nd line has been active for 23 months of now. Although my second line isnt eligible for a $150 instant rebat because of multiple esn swaps. Would I be able to get some sort of good deal for a treo 650?

Okay, so here is my retention plan i got last night.
$100 F&C plan 2500 AT mins. shared plan. (Thanks to NIKO for the direction, I got the extra 500 mins)
N&W @ 6 for $10
1st line,Ulim text/vision/pictures/web for free
2nd line free w/ 500 free text
3rd & 4th line $10 each w/ 500 free text
Free PCS to PCS on all lines shared minutes.
Before taxes it comes out to $130 a month for the 4 lines.
2 free lg pm225
Treo wx for $300 plus tax
Was not hard at all getting what I was looking for, had to call back to get the 2500 mins instead of the 2000.
My question to anyone is how can I check that they got this all right? Do I have to wait until my next bill?
How long should I wait to ask for a customer loyalty discount and how would I go about getting it?
Also how long does it take to recieve the new phones?
Thanks everyone for participating in this forum

I'd call customer service and explain that you changed plans and just want to check your plan setup, that you don't want to change anything. Have a list near the phone so you can make sure you got everything.
IF it's all ok, ask if you're eligible for a loyalty discount.
If it's not right, get transferred to retentions for them to fix it.
Sprint should send a letter detailing your plan...

Just got new plan from great CS rep. very helpful, after calling 5 times over past week with no luck from the other
-1500 min $75,
-free pv unlimited for 1st year (reg 25), $10 for 2nd year
-7pm n/w
-unlimited pcs to pcs
-500 text free
-2nd line free with same features as 1st
New Treo 700w 299, A900 49.99...no activation fees for either one
Also kept my 23% corp discount!!! Bill should be around 57.75 after discount
Now, let's see if Sprint doesn't screw it up. CSR set up plan to go into effect at next billing cycle. See my sig for old plan. Didn't need extra min, so willing to give up the 500 min for $25 less :)
Tried for loyalty discount too but CSR said he couldn't add it! Maybe will try next time!

That's a solid plan, I'd take that. Why wasn't I offered that last week when I spoke to retention? I'd pay the extra $15 for 500, still cheaper than what the extra minutes are if I go over.
