Are they going to call you back or how is it going to go down for the treo. Because she didn't have them in stock yet and she said she would call me back with the treo price for me and would be able to process as soon as they came in. I am wondering if she is just messing with me or is honest. Also mine gave me both A900 for free with no fight... Just saying because i also wonder if she is just talkin to make me feel better right now. I said something about 50 razr (from verizon) she said free blades, I was like OK.

when you call back to get a better retention plan, do you tell them you want to cancel your account again? or you simply ask questions, without saying you want to cancel? how do you go about calling them for the second time?

Long time lurker, first time actually using what ive read.
Used eCare to try and get a new phone, for free, my contract being up in a week I figured why not talk about how I can sign another contract somewhere else and get a phone for free, $150 for my 2yr loyalty aint cuttin it.
Someone calls me from Bangaladesh...sigh....and for 20 minutes im back and forth with this woman...
F/F 400 anytime $40
free 7pm nights and free roam.
so YES its a better plan sorta, but I dont get a fancy phone, they didnt like it (must have bee our lovely static laden connection) and I said thanks Ill go somewhere else.
Immediately called *2, got Scott who was very happy to help me. I explained about seeing free phones here, free phones there, Im happy to get this new $40 plan blah blah.
He comes back with a $100 credit on my bill, with a 2yr agreement starting as my current contract ends, 6/7.
So I can (on 6/1) walk into a Sprint store use my $150 discount and get a phone there. And since all money is basically fake anyway the $100 credit is sorta a $100 addition to the $150 off making it a $250 off any phone type deal.
Ahhhh choices.
then comes the SERO change during :devangel: mid-June....

I tried to buy the A920 but was told by the sales rep that I could not with my current plan. I have free Vision, but they told me that in order to activate the A920, I needed Power Vision, and as such I had to pay an additional $15 or $20 (depending on the options) for the first line and $7.50 or $10.00 for any additional line (I have 4 lines). I have been a Sprint customer for 8 years and have never had a late payment. I contacted Sprint through email and asked for the power vision at a "loyalty" discount, but I was told that this is a new feature and as such they do not offer it at a discounted price. However, I have seen many postings here where the A900 or A920 has been included as part of the deal, with many of the deals including "free vision". I am confused. Do you really need Power Vision in order to enjoy Vision on your A920 (or 900)? Is it true that it can't be given for free or at a discounted price?
Thank you very much for your help.

They can knock 5 dollars off the price of, I think the top 2 PV plans.
Again, if you are out of contract, get transfered to retentions and tell them you are going to cancel unless they can figure out a better deal for you.

3000 nights at 8pm
$5/month roaming
New plan:
$70/month 2 lines included

Free Roaming
Free First month of PV, then $15 for first, $7.50 for second

Are you sure you never have to activate it? I specifically asked Sprint about this same thing, with an A900 that I got from retentions planning to give to my daughter as a gift at the end of the school year. I wanted to know if I could wait about a month to activate it... they told me that the credits on the phone were set to expire on 7/24.

I think you do have to activate it to get the rebates. Since it's a retentions deal from Sprint. All the new customer and upgrade deals require activation, at least for a short period of time. Whether that is 1 day or 2 years is your choice.

Well I don't use vision, texting or the photo stuff. So I was looking for a little less expensive bill but with the same stuff as I had. I had roaming put on the account when we were in Key West for the winter because after Hurricane Wilma Sprint servic was horrible there. It improved.. Then I had to call every month to get the roaming and long distance charges taken off of the bill. But if they are going to give it to me for free, I'll take it.

They'll probably give you N/W at 7 for free, and also roaming for free. You'd also have some luck getting something like SMS for free, too, but you said you don't use that. The best option for you is to ask if you can get a loyalty discount. I think they vary from 5-10%.
Punjaban
06-02-2006, 07:34 PM
I actually just got a loyalty discount for 15%. Even though I was only 2 months into my 2 yr contract, I called retentions and told them that i had been a long time customer and didnt even think twice about resigning and adding new phones. Told them that I just so happen to be browsing the t-mobile website and their family plan was a lot cheaper than what I had and then the rep verified it (asking for the website, where i found it and he was reading stuff of the same site while I had it open), gave me a 15% discount to bring my sprint bill to the same about and then gave me tons of freebies (like a phone, 6pm nights, vision and UL text).
I guess its luck of the draw but if you want more, its good to have facts to back up whatever u want. As a perk, Im sure you could try and squeeze in 6pm nights since you arent getting any of the other stuff.

06-02-2006, 07:50 PM
Well.....I say, if you are actually willing to jump carriers, I'd tell them that first. Tell them what you are wanting as far as price and features, and see if they offer up anything. If not, then switch.

unfortunately, my contract isn't up until some time in '07 ....I wish I had read this thread before I last signed on for a contract renewal.
I have a "decent" plan compared to the standards set by this forum: the standard $69.00 for 800 ATM shared between two phones (Fair/Flex), after 9PM N-W, 25% Corporate and 5% loyalty discounts.
As I understand, there are no SERO plans that allow sharing of minutes and since I really don't need more than 800, SERO isn't going to help me?
After reading this thread, I am thinking if I can get 7PM N-W and 15% loyalty discount, I'd be pretty happy .... but I suppose I have no leverage being locked until 2007 ... is it even worth calling or e-mailing?
I see someone posted the 800# for retention a few posts back ... is there a direct e-mail address or link for eCARE?

you said you have been with sprint 8 years and are out of contract? if youy have been paying on time, three lines 800 minutes, with credits on vision, mtm and nights at 7pm should cost about $80.you would be eligible for about $75 per handset on top of the usual $150 for cheap handsets and $150 per handset on top of the usual $150 for high end handsets.
forget ecare. call rentention, say your wife gets a very steep discount on verizon with work and she is trying to get you to change.
I would say you want the $69 800 minute plan (this plan ALREADY has 7pm nights and includes the second line FREE) .
tell them you understand you are eligible for a 25% discount on that plan. (take 20% if they offer it -- remember the 10% discounts are on the whole bill whereas the new 20 to 25% discoutns are on the plan alone.)
Tell them you understand people get the mobile to mobile (if you call your 2nd and third lines a lot this will keep your minutes used very low) for free.
fimf is a throw away for me it comes to about 50 mintues per month. you could try that but instead I recomend going for the extra diso****s (on top of the two year $150 off) on handsets. $75 per line is standard.
I fyou want vision or power vision go for about $5 credit per line, which is certainly a standard offer to long term out of contract customers.
cost before taxes:
800 shared friends and family with 7pm nights is $70. - 20% or 25% = $56 to $52.50
secondline is included standard = $0
Thrid line $10
Mobile to moble free
there you pay $66 or $62.50.
You are getting about 20 to 30% more minutes considering that mobile to mobile and nights at 7 pm will certainly lower your billable useage. and you are paying about 20% less.
make sure to ask for handset credits on handsset upgrade as well. this is standard.

OK, this was way easier than I thought it would be. I just said that Cingular is giving away RAZRs and had some better plans. I got:
2 - A900s and a Sanyo 3100 (might not even use it, can I sell this?)
1000 minutes F & C plan - $50
PV - $5 ($15 - $10 credit)
500 TM - Free
6pm N&W - $10
2nd Line - Free
3rd Line - Free
500TM on 3rd line - free
Total $65 less 27% employee discount
$50 credit for battery for A900
I have been with sprint since '97, that may have helped, but I am VERY pleased.

For those of you that have retention discounts, loyalty discounts, FIMF, and other account credits (e.g.$8 ul SMS but $8 monthly credit) do those show up online under "plan details" or do they just show up on your bill? Right now I have FIMF but it doesnt show up online, and I recently got a new retention plan that wont go into affect until my next billing cycle.
I am afraid I will somehow lose some of the perks when I get the new phones and activate them before the new billing cycle - any ideas on how to prevent this from happening?
new plan:
Samsung MM-A920 (credited $75, billed $75, I pay sales tax)
I keep the same plan
Plus the 20% corp. discount I've been enjoying
Basically, I got a free phone out of the deal, which is what I was after in the first place. My contract ended on 6/1 Since I needed to have my original VI660 replaced after 4 months of use, back in '04, I wouldn't have been eligible for the $150 rebate until Sept '06 I got the rentention rep to go from giving the $75 rebate now, to giving me the $150 rebate now, to giving me a free MM-A920 now. I tried to push for a text messaging discount, but she started pushing back at that point. I'm not a big spender with Sprint, so I feel I did fairly well. I'll probably switch to F&F 400, as I don't even use the 500 minutes I have now. Might as well drop the price $5.

How did you get a line with SERO added to your account?
At first I had the 4th and 5th Line on my Spring F&C plan...added for $20 bucks a month. I figured I rather get an extra 1000 minutes for 20 bucks, not counting loyalty and corp discount. So I just called up the business number and told them I wanted the last 4th and 5th line to have their own accounts...the rep asked me which plan I wanted and I said the SERO 500...She changed it no problem...however, I was unsuccessful in trying to get her to give me N/W at 7pm...that will be for another day.

Wow... I need a 6th line and I think I may try that. I am thinking of going to CompUSA where they have the A900 and A920 between 75-100 bucks for new lines, activating it on the lowend F&F plan and then trying to get it changed over. Even the $40 retention plan might work for me.

I have been a Sprint customer since 1999 and have been out of contract for almost 2 years, with excellent payment history.
My old plan:
2 phones - Samsung i500 and old Sanyo
2000 Shared Anytime Minutes
9PM Nights and Weekends
FIMF
Free Sprint to Spring Calls
Unlimited Vision Premium Pack w/ unlimited SMS
$100.00/month
On my second call to retention I got what I thought was a good deal, and after a few more calls I got the discount I wanted on EVDO. Here is the new deal:
$200 Treo 700p
Free Samsung A900
-Fair and Flexible with 2200 shared
-Free 6 pm Nights and Weekends (credit for unlimited period)
-Free Unlimited Text Messaging on both lines (credit for 2 years)
-$10.00 rentention EVDO pack on line 1 - no vision on line 2
- FIMF both lines
- Free Unlimited PCS to PCS Calling
-15% discount + 5% discount
Total = $95/month
I am very happy with the deal. Sprint is great - they treat you right if you treat them right. And I could not have done it without SU.com.

Unlimited N/W after 7PM
Unlimited Power Vision
Unlimited Picture Mail
Free 500 Text Messages
20% Corp Discount

Tried to get a % off for being a loyal customer, but the rep said only way to get 20% off was to add another line...kind of a hassle and he said he was already giving me free text messaging and free power vision...so I decided not to press for it. Overall, very happy with the new plan.

Seems like you should upgrade your plan. I can't imagine your ten-year-old plan is very competitive compared to today's plans. Back then, 500 minutes a month was considered a high-usage plan (and an expensive one). I bet you could get a lot more minutes for less money than you could back in 1996.
If you don't use your phones much, are you going to be happy with Treo 650's? I have a Treo, I use and abuse it, but if I didn't take advantage of everything it does I would rather have a much smaller phone. I tolerate the size of the Treo because nothing else will do.
Also, if you want to use all the Treo's goodies you'll need to upgrade to a plan with Vision.

Hey guys....
I ordered 2 LX 350's a little less than a few weeks ago. My wife and I decided to change them. So, I called Bus. Ret. today. Here's the outcome....
I talked to a great rep who was able to do everything I wanted.
She is going to send out 2 new Samsung 920's with return kits at no cost.
My NEW plan is:
- 2 lines
- 1,500 minutes shared
- PCS to PCS
- 7 pm Nights and Weekends
- No Roaming
- Unlimited Text
- Unlimited Picture mail (included with PowerVision mentioned below)
- Unlimited Video mail (included with PowerVision mentioned below)
- FREE unlimited Powervision on the primary line
- $5 Unlimited Powervision on the second line.
- All this for $94.99 (included the $5 PV) plus 25% business discount PLUS 20% business retention discount.
Ok, yea, I went down 500 minutes, but we never used that many anyway. Plus the 7pm N&W instead of the 9pm we had should make up for that 500 minutes difference. The good thing is, the new plan is $10 cheaper a month, so even with the $5 for PV on the second line, we are saving $5.
Sounds good to me.
Thanks for listening,
Matt!

Also,
If I am getting 2 new 920's sent out. How do they bill that? Since I am returning 2 LX350's -- will they charge my account the amount of the old LX350's and credit my account for the new phones? And when they get the returns, they will take the charge off? Just making sure.
I also talked to a rep that said that if my bill happens to be due, and the exhchange credit adjustment hasn't occurred yet, that they can push the phone charges to the next bill so that it takes care of itself and I don't have to pay....
Thanks,
Matt

Yes. Telesales has to bill your account. I'm guessing your account will be credited for the price of the LG's and the difference of the A920's(nice phone by the way! I love mine) so that when it "cycles", the charge for the LGs will cancel out and the charge for the 920's will bring your account back down to zero....plus your plan cost.

New member here and wanted to share my retention deal I got friday. Just a little background. I was on the grandfathered 2000 minute anytime for $85 with free vision pictures pack, unlimited SMS and 7pm Nights and weekends (10 extra) so my total was $95. There are only 2 phones, me and my wife.
My wife wanted a new Fusic and when we went into the store thursday the rep said we'd either need to add on the Power Vision Plus pack and text messaging if we wanted that, so our bill would have jumped like $30. Or we could redo our entire plan and lose around half our minutes to get a similar plan at our same monthly price. We've had sprint for at least 5 or 6 years and we've been pretty good customers, so I figured it was time I give retention a try. (Thanks for all the good advice from everyone here)
The retention rep was pretty cool and gave us a OK deal. It's not as sweet as what others have gotten, but providing it all goes through we're happy with it.
2000 Anytime Minutes
Unlimited PCS to PCS
7PM Nights and Weekends
$85 minus 20% off (probably loyalty discount?) = $68
Power Vision Plus ($10 per phone, but we got $120 in service discounts over 24 months) so it ends up at $5/month per phone
500 SMS Messages per phone per month for Free.
So our grand total before tax should be about $78 per month.
The final deal maker was he offered 2 Samsung A900's OR A920s for Free! I was kind of hoping he could help us out on a deal for a Treo 700 and a Fusic, but he said they were too new and he couldn't do anything with those. So I took one A900 for myself and we just got the wifes fusic at the local store because she qualified for the PCS Handset upgrade 150 off.
So my only question is does anyone have any ideas on how I can go about getting a discount on a Treo 700? I currently qualify for the $75 handset upgrade discount, but if I activate that A900 then I lose the $75. I'm tempted to call back monday or tuesday and see if I can get like a credit towards a treo if I send the A900 back. I know the A900 is cool but I'm not sure the battery life is going to be long enough. I suppose ebay is always an option. Any ideas?
jumonjii
06-12-2006, 01:24 PM
I'd call back.
When I renewed, I called back like 6 different times to go over the offers. Orginally was offered the a900 but got that changed to a920s.
It really depends on the rep you get.

If I took that (my phones are in my company name) can I later get a Met Life Discount?? Or do I have to transfer the phones to my personal name ? I have my Badge from Met Life and pay stubs. Will they ask for more?
Thanks

From what I understand of retentions is that they don't have deals on shared plans. You could probably get a better offer on 2 individual lines.
For the discounts, the phones would have to be under the employee of the company to get it I believe.

Perhaps I should ask for two SERO PLans. But I don't think I'd be getting any loyalty discounts NOR employee discounts. I figured I'd go for the shared plan and then ultimately switch the plans to SERO, providing I was able to get the discounts.
If I ask for SERO, they aren't gonna give me a $30.00 plan, then 20% loyalty, then 20% employee discount, I don't think.

06-13-2006, 11:01 PM
Most likely not. The question is though, how well are your chances of getting the sero plans? A lot of people are having problems.

06-13-2006, 11:03 PM
Sounds like I may have to bite the bullet and get the 2 A900's and pay the $79.99 each and work from there. How did you end up with the SERO, plus the enhanced discounts?
jumonjii
06-13-2006, 11:09 PM
I had the discounts first. There was someone who was able to switch my plan to sero.
I worked with retentions for a week. Got the 2 phones for 70 dollars. Actually, 1 free and one for 70 dollars a week later.
The free stuff I was able to get via ecare...from there my account was changed to sero. Then I called up customer care and told them my second line was suppose to miror my first line with plan and features. That one will take effect on my next billing cycle.

I can't seem to get retentions to give me a better deal than $79.99 each for two A900 phones. Been with Sprint 10 years. They just want to give me a 1500 min plan shared for the two lines plus N&W 7PM for $89.95 less 20% loyalty discount. Comes out to $71.95 per month plus tax. Not the greatest deal.
Frank
how many minutes do you need each month??? The price on the phones isnt bad!
Peddler999
06-14-2006, 01:12 AM
1700 shared would be ideal for a family shared plan, or 1300 on 1 and 400 on the other. 7pm is reall essential with mobile to mobile and Nationwide use since I travel.
Right now I am paying $80 for the 3 phones plus tax
1300 min 8pm $50
450 min 8pm $30
would like to get additional disc or extra services and trying to figure out if I should get the phones out of company name to ultimately get Met life discount
Thanks

Retentions would most likely be able to help you with the discount stuff. Maybe even tell you what you need to do to qualify for both.
7pm is standard on all plans. Push for free 6pm
pcs to pcs is included
roaming is included.
Your best option is to go with seperate plans.
They offered me the same thing orginally. The rep said they don't have any "promotional" (pronounced rentention ;) ) plans for shared accounts.

Here is my retention UPDATE.
I took the BEST deal that I could seem to work out
Two A900's for $80.00 each. No tax, no shipping. Just $160.00
Fair and Flexible combined plan with 1500 min. $89.99 with 7PM night/weekends, free mobile to mobile, NIGHTS, roaming and long distance. They threw in supposedly 6PM nights. They gave me a 20% loyalty discount for being with them 10+ years. It should be $71.96 plus tax. But seeing is believing.
Biggest thing for me was the phones. Lots of people said that they got them for FREE, but I schmoozed and schmoozed. NOTHING. Figured I better take the deal before I lost everything.

Long time lurker, first time poster. Thanks to all for your information! My retention deal isn't the slickest, but i'm very happy with it, and it only took one call to retentions. (by the way, Pam C in retentions is excellent to work with! Very polite and patient)
2 lines 1000 minutes, fair and flex, 7pm nights, unlim vision x2 - $70 total (or at least promised)
i got 2 treo 650's for $80/each, no rebates. couldnt swing her to gimme the 700p's - she said they were in hot demand (all you here probably laugin at me, cause you got them all!)
i might have to add 3 more lines, but that will be $8/line. low users, so no probs with minutes...
thanks again! were it not for lurking and reading here, i would not have gotten a good deal!

I never even heard of that. Not that it's not expected. The last rep I talked to said the 6pm nights thing has a lot of people switching to Sprint just for that.
If Sprint keeps it up, it will force the other carriers to lower their night time...uh...time?

Every year I up the ante from my original 500/500 for $50.
Now for $45 I get: (retention plan of course) :wavey:
-1 year contract
-1300 peak minutes
-Unlimited nights and weekends (well the agreement over the phone was for 3000 but unlimited shows up online and on my paper bill and *4, go figure!)
-7pm nights
-Free pcs to pcs
-No free text yet, but I barely use it and last month I had 50 messages but I usually average less than 5 a month so I thought it was a waste of $5 bucks. Besides I spend all day at my computer and hate texting. :bang:
So can one expect to get 6pm as a new off peak start now when the contract is up??
BTW. I switched phones at last contract intro and was charged a $30 "phone switch/upgrade fee". I was still within my 15 days and told them that " maybe I could upgrade to another carrier" and they reversed the charge. :haha: Has this happened to anyone else????

PCS Free & Clear Plan
* $100.00 PCS Free & Clear Plan
* 2500 Anytime Minutes Shared

* Unlimited PCS to PCS Calling
* Sprint PCS Vision Pictures Pack
* 10% monthly discount

One of the phones on the plan was a few month old and they gave a new treo anyways.
I was tyring to get unlimited texts but they said $8 per phone. I don't use them anyway.

Wow, I tried and only managed to get the A900 for $79.99. Anyone get one for free?
(Sprint customer for 4 years, bill paid on time, Family plan with 3 lines).
I managed to get 2 A900's free and a Samsung A560 (on my father-in-law's line who didn't want all the bells and whistles). I, like you, have been a Sprint customer for 4 years, bill paid on time AND on a Family plan with 3 lines.
It took 3 calls to retention before they finally gave up the three phones for free. The last offer I received was the A900's for $79.99. The final time I called was really early in the morning, (6:00am PST) and I could was connected right away. The rep I spoke to, Rhonda, was pleasant... you could tell I was one of the first callers.
I think that may help you out. Call when they aren't receiving an abundance of calls and when they're "fresh" in the morning. She also shaved off 10% off of our regular family plan.
I made sure to ask for her supervisor afterwards to give her a HUGE compliment on how "she represents what Sprint's customer service is... and the reason we are renewing our contract for another 2 years...." Honestly, she was great and hopefully, one of you guys will get her too.

Just posted this in general discussion, but it's probably worth repeating here for the retention gurus.
Here it is in a nutshell:
Plan includes 4 phones and one EVDO card
All lines have:
3500 shared anytime minutes
Roaming
6pm Night & Weekends
Unlimited SMS
Mobile 2 Mobile
FIMF
Business connection on one line
Ultimate power vision on first 2 lines
Voice command on first 2 lines
Picture mail on 3rd & 4th lines
Unlimited data on EVDO card
GRAND TOTAL: $93.76
Also got these new phones:
Treo 700p: $300
Fusic: $50
Merlin a580 EVDO card: $50 (I think I could have gotten this free if I tried)
2 LX350's: both FREE
Whadya think? Did I do good?
If you want the price breakdown and all the details, my original thread is HERE (http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1059395#post1059395)
I called yesterday for the 15% flier discount and got it. That brings this sweet deal down to right around $80.00! AWESOME!
This retention thing really works. I'm getting a great deal on my service and it makes me love Sprint even more. I know for the next two years I'll have a great plan and a great deal.
To be honest, I think Sprint gets a bad rap. The people I've dealt with on the phone, for the most part, are knowledgable, friendly, helpful and patient. My biggest gripe is their retail stores. They are a nightmare. In L.A. at some stores you need an appointment to speak to a human being, even if you know exactly what you want to buy. If you don't have an appointment ahead of time, you can wait over an hour for your turn to come up. Then when your name is called they may not be able to help you. And some stores around here won't answer the phone no matter how many times you call.

How are you guys getting nights starting at 6pm AND free texting???
I called retention yesterday and worked out 500 texts/month for free. Then called them back and worked out 7pm nights for free (I have SERO).
The girl said, after genuinely trying to give me nights starting at 6pm, that "I am unable to override the system, since you already have texting for free, it is giving me an error code when I try to put in 6pm nights for free." She said she wanted to, but it would cost me and extra $5/month.
How do I do it? Is it something I say to them?

Well, she could always put it on and then add a credit for it.
Try ecare, they may be able to do it. So long as the rep notated your file that she attempted to do it, you should be fine.
The best way to deal with any billing issues (ie: not get credit for this or that) is to email ecare with an exact schedule of what you should get and pay versus what you got charged and finally what you think went wrong. When I first changed plans, boy was it a headache... Dealing with *2 rep was a nightmare (she kept arguing that I got everything, even though it didn't make sense where $40 in charges came from). So I did exactly what I suggested with eCare and since everything was written down and for them to see point for point, it was easiest to communicate and resolve. Good luck and congrats on your great deal!

I emailed Ecare to add a few things I didn't get from retention. (I was the 2 Treo 650's for $239)
1. 7pm nights and weekends on both lines for free
2. Unlimited texts for the wife; 500 for me for free!
3. Road side Assistance for both phones. (Was offered to me, I didn't ask)
4. The only thing I didn't get (they said they can't) was the free $6 per Treo replacement thingy.
My next move in a few days will be the Biz discount of 25%. Either American Airlines, Home Depot, or Boeing Credit Union.
All in all, Customer retention retained me. I feel good about working the system as the feel good working me! I have spent a jillion with them & now I get my Karma!
Once I get my new bill I should be paying less then $80 a month for full services on 2 Treo phones. 2500 anytime minutes, 7pm nights & weekends, Free texts, PCS 2 PCS,..... I should never go over now! Hell I should barely even use minutes now.

Guys, please tell me if I can do better.
I had a grandfathered plan with 300 min for $30, 1st incoming minute free, 9PM nights, $10 Vision. Long time customer, no contract. When I called retention, after some negotioations they gave me a new A920, but re***e to give me more airtime. When I called to activate the phone, the agent removed Vision from the plan, telling me to subscribe to PowerVision for $15. I called the retention again, and they reinstated Vision (which became EVDO of course :) ), and gave me 7PM nights. So this is where I stand right now: $40, 300 min, 7PM nights, 1st incomeing free, EVDO. Do you think I can do better? I am still within 2 week pereiod when I can cancel the contract.

SERO 500 may be better you can probably get everything but FIMF but would the 200 additional minutes handle your FIMF you'd possibly lose? You'll need to ask for 6pm or 7pm on SERO. If you don't have any loyalty discounts you might be able to get them plus the grandfathered FIMF free.

The rep tried for free 6pm and 7pm but couldn't get the codes to work with the plan.
She went with a 5% discount to offset the cost. Not too bad.
The phones were ordered at the same time of the plan change. In order for the second phone to work, she set it so it so the plan would go into effect immediatly instead of at the end of the billing cycle. She gave a 50 dollar credit to offset the proration as well.
What's really great is that both the business rep, and the retention rep put their email address and rep ID's in the notes. Whenever I need to change someone out I can get their emails and have them call me. I don't have to deal with all the bone heads!

I was origionally offered 1 i870 for free, but I inquired back about migrating over to Nextel for my partner also, I was told yes to i870's all the way! So it may end up being 2 or 3 i870's for free.

HA! So the rep effed up.
5 dollar MRC for the 7pm nights. 7pm nights free.
Orginally the 5 percent discount was to offset the 7pm nights.
Now it's a straight 15 percent discount.
new plan
1000mins $40 (more than i will ever use)
8pm nw
$5 for the $15 PV (1 rep was going to give it to me for free, but effed up and didn't put thru the order or order my phone, call back and he didn't put notes in the account either so I end up getting it for $5 instead of free)
$0 for the $8 unlimted SMS
total $45 + $6 insurance
PPC6700 for either $200 or $250, i will find out when the bill come.
If the first guy didn't mess up it would have been a GREAT sprint customer service experience for me.
now it is just ok and i'm still annoyed

Okay so are you all just calling *2 and asking for this stuff outright or how are you going about it. I am about to run into my 150 rfebates and the end of my contract and have actually contemplated leaving as the service/signal from sprint is still not the best. I want to get on 2 SERO plans get earlier n/w, anf free texts, and get a good deal on 2 phone like the fusic. oh yeah and the 10% loyalty discount but am not sure about how to do all this. Are you all being really creative or do you just have to ask for this stuff?
Thanks all

I know that I lost 80 anytime minutes but my brother only uses an average of 200 anytime minutes/month. I was planning to add a new line(s) and also get Sero. Should I first add a new line then apply for Sero? What is the best methods/steps to get all perks/discounts transfered over without losing them? Thanks.

I recommend you call retentions by saying cancel at the prompt with *2 and make a deal with retentions first for the phones. Try to get them free.....they are giving out a substantial number of phones. Next call employee services and ask for the sero plans. I called back and got more free stuff such as 7PM after signing up for sero. You can join a credit union and qualify for a business account which will gain you a 10% discount. Remember the sero plan offers expire on the 30th of this month.

Check wirefly and sprint for comparable phones. Sprint will match any one they sell.
Get your plan and your perks. If some perks come by going with a more expensive plan do it....then switch to sero...if you can.

Ok sprintusers. I have read a lot of your post talking about all the good deals you got from retention and customer care and kind of got jealous so I decided to used some of the information to negotiate a better plan for myself. (This might be a little long)The first thing I did last Tue was to email cust. Care and told them I am not happy with my plan and would like to get my plan switch to a sero plan I gave them a name of a fictitious cousin (with a real e-mail) who worked for sprint local office that told me about the plan. They responded with the usual gibberish about not wanting to loose me as a customer and someone will call me back within 24-48hrs. The next day a rep called me and recommended that I go to www.sprint.com/sero website to sign up and he was not able to change the plan from his end. I told him to have someone who knows how to do it call me. I didn’t hear anything so I called retention @ about 12:55am and just went off. The lady told me that she would take care of me by giving me better plan than the Sero Plan. Then she went on a roll.

I had to go through a lot to get this so I really hope I came out good. My Treo 700 was suppose to be delivered to me on Fri. so when I called to to get the Tracking # I was told it just got shipped that day and I wouldn’t get it until Mon. so I called back retention and the girl credit my account with another Treo 700 so I was able pick up one at the local sprint store 10miles away. I won’t even go into that story but all I know is for all that aggravation I went through I think I deserve another Free A900….What y’all think? :deal:

This might not the best deal, but what do you guys/gals think? Again I would like to thank everyone who made this possible, even the reps at retention.....
:headbang2 In less then 1.5 months I was able to get FREE A900s added to 5 out of 6 lines on my account. Do you think I'm over doing it? The last A900 phone I added, 5th one, was a little troublesome since I still had 6 more months before contract expires. I think I'll stop here since the contract on my 6th line does not have expire until 2008.
All lines have:
Free Mobile to Mobile
Free Power Vision/Picture Package
Free Unlimited Text
Free Roaming
Nights starting at 5pm
15% Loyalty Discount
15% Company Discount
*** The only exception is that the 6th line only has regular vision :indiff: ***
Let's just hope :fingers: nothings gets change on my account :)

I'm in the process of trying right now using the "T-Mobile has the MDA for free" strategy, but so far, with the 2 reps that I've talked to, I've had no luck. I've heard of people getting it for free, though it's more common to get it for $99.
Of course, the rep that I talked to today told me that Sprint had the windows version of the Treo 700.
CS: So before I transfer you to our cancellation department, you said you need a PDA phone of some type, right? It can be a Treo, right?
Me: Well, I really need a Windows device, so I think the 6700 is the only choice, unless you guys have the Treo 700.
CS: Yes, sir, we have that.
Me: The Windows version?
CS: Yup, we have that one.
Me: Um...okay, I guess I'll ask the other department about it.
jumonjii

walked right into that one.
Freak4Dell
06-26-2006, 10:44 PM
You mean I walked into it?
I figure I can use it to my advantage and pull a little bit of the "your company pulled a bait and switch on me" crap.
I ended up saying I'll call back later to be connected to retentions because even after like 15 minutes, she was still trying to get a rep on the line. And hey, if they give me a 700p for free, I'll sell it, buy a 6700 off of Ebay, and still have about $50-100 left over. That works for me.

I'm a total newbie to this, but after reading posts for the last two weeks or so, calling Sprint three times, and emailing ecare back and forth about 5 times, i got what I wanted. It may not be the best plan out there, but it what I wanted and needed.
Old phone (really old): Sanyo 8100
Old plan: $35 F&C...300 a/t mins, n&w at 7pm ($10 per month), PV ($10)
New phone: Treo 700p ($250)
New plan: $48 F&F...1000 a/t mins, n&w at 7pm (free), PV (free), 500 text msgs (free)
I was offered the 700p last week for $250, ecare saw it in my notes and said that is the best they price for that phone. This guy told me that it's $250 off the phone, not for the phone. I told
