Retention called me to follow to yesterday's call and asked if I purchased phone A900. I said no since there is no availability in my area in San Francisco. Through the frustrations with everything I agreed to the following.

Monthly Plan
1000 ATM for $40 F&C ($10 discount old grandfathered F&C $50 plan)
U/L N/W 7pm free (old plan 8pm)
U/L PV $20 plan - couldn't get discount on this (old plan Vision $10 - discounted $5)
15% Loyalty discount for life of contract (did not have it b4)
500 Text messg 30 day trial only
Total Monthly Bill $51 (savings $9)

Phone - Samsung A900
$349.99-$150 instant rebate-$120 service credit = $79.99
Since no availability - Sprint will ship for free and No activation/upgrade fee
(Savings $156 = 120 service credit and 36 fee waived)

Sprint would NOT give me U/L text mssg or any text plan for free - only 30 day trial
No Roaming plan
No M2M plan

I feel it's only a half victory since I hear others have gotten better deals incl. U/L text & M2M included, but I tried with many calls to CS, ecare and retention over 2 months..due to dropped calls on my current phone Sanyo 5300....

What do you think of the retention plan I received? Good/OK/No good????

Also - Can I get Ecare to honor $200 service credit for phone I negiotated before I talk to retention dept also?

Ecare said I was not qualified for $150 phone rebate so they gave me $200 credit when I purchase phone in-store... I have email confirmation from ecare.....

Can I get the $200 service credit now even though retention sent me the phone?

Or will they (eCare) say NO since I already received phone credit from retention?

Would love any feedback..........Could make $120 on the phone with credits...thanks in advance....

I would take what they are offering....a900 for $79 aint bad (I paid $150 and I have been with sprint for 7 years....)
Coming to the plan; take what they offer.... you can always negotiate later (that's what I did)... if you read my signature the only free I got initially, when I re-signed 2 yr agreement was $200 off on the phone and 0$ for AAP... I got the rest later, in the next 2 months (one after another).... So, I would take the offer and deal with freebies later.... as you have been reading all along, the key is PERSISTENCE.

GoodLuck !!

By the way, I am so jealous of Korean Samsung phone users ---v840 slider is sweettttttttt...

I got N/W's @ 6:00 p.m. for free and they gave me a $100 service credit. I told them that they had recycled my phone number; because I had switched number and could not get the $150 off my next phone so they gave me the $100 service credit. I think that it fair. On my plan it shows N/W's at 6:00 p.m. at a charge of $10.00 but they give a credit. I did have N/W's at 7:00 p.m. for $5. I also increased my minutes from 2000 minutes to 3500. I have 5 shared lines, unlimited text on three of the phones for 2.50 or 5 bucks and of course the internet for $15. I couldn't go to the F&F because I would lose my freebies.

Have a good day!If you don't mind me asking how much total are you paying?

I just added a 5 line to my account and I screwed out my grandfathered vision on my primary line. I told the rep to not change anything to my plan and she still did. I plan on calling retention today. Is there any special number or time to call retention? I think 2000 minutes might be enough but not sure the pricing on different minute plans. I would have interenet/power vision and + either unlimited or 500 text messages on the primary line. On the second line 500 text messages. Nothing on the other 3 lines.

I just got offered 1500min for $90 and the 2200min for $110
Primary line
$15 for vision/picture pack
$5 for 500 text messages
$5 for nights/weekends at 7pm I think I get a 10% discount
free 2nd line
$10 for 3 line
$10 for 4 line
$10 for 5 line
20% of total

I told the rep to save the info becasue I wasn't sure what I wanted to do. I'm pretty sure both minute plans are Fair and Flex. I'm not sure if I could save more money with a regular minute plan? I have a 6700 and would like to know if there is a special vision pack I need or can I just use the $10 one? I thought about just getting the $15 vision picture pack but the 6700 doesn't have picturemail. I'm wondering if I should go ahead and get a $15 vision picturemail pack just incase I switch phones later? Can retention switch phones around on my account? I was going to ask if I could get a additional credit for my less than 14 day 6700 but forgot.

Any input would be apreciated. I would like to get this done today. :)

Is that enough minutes for 5 lines? We tried the 2500 F & F and went over so that plan did not work out for us the based plan 115 + 50 so that hurt us lost 1300 mins and paid more money...we had to go back to the 4500 F & C for $150.

I know this does not answer your question but I just thought I would bring up a few points that might help.

-I got my 3th and 4th line for $7.99 by saying T-mobile offered extra lines for 7.99 and I was told sprint would match.
-the 7PM should be free for sure. Actually some people on this forum get 6PM for free, although I could not.
-texting is typically free for at least some lines. Sometimes they give you 500 and sometimes unlimited. I got 2 lines with unlimited, one line with 500(primary), and one line with 100, lol
-Is the 20% loyality or corp discount?

You don't have to be "under contract" to modify stuff... you can do that any time (like I did).. all they will ask is sign another 2 yr agreement from that day ...

Man I'm so siked. I've been seeing people here get the nationwide 1000 min/month plan for $40 so I thought i should have it too. For the past couple years I've had the area-wide 1000 min/month plan for $45 which has worked for the most part, except for the few times that I been hit with traveling minutes which are $.50/min. Boy do those wrack up. So I called CS last night and told them that I was offered the nationwide plan last week but the rep talked me out of it. This week i decided it would be a good idea to get insurance on my phone but i didn't want to pay another $6/month. So my idea was to pay $5 less on my plan/month while picking up insurance on my phone for $6. That way I'm only out $1. To me nobody looses. The CS rep resisted big time for at least 20minutes saying that he couldnt find the plan that i was talking about. So i asked him if there were anyone else that could find this plan for me, he said no, everybody looks at the same thing. In the end I asked to speak to a supervisor which took another 20minutes. The supervisor quickly told me to speak to retentions who have access to what I need. He transfered me there and the retention rep was so nice. I ended up on the phone with her for about 10 minutes. So in all I spent almost an hour but I got what I needed.

$40- 1000 min nationwide
$15- power vision pack
$8- 500 text messages (shows up as $8 credit ea/month)
$5- picture pack
$5- video pack
$6- phone insurance
20% business discount

My total should be $56.80 before taxes I think, If not it should be less.

Also, what is the next lowest plan for a shared retention plan?

1G, did you email eCare for this deal? Or did you have to speak directly to retentions for this?

My friend has a main line with a sub line, then a separate third line on their own plan.

Can my friend have their sub line become the sub line for line 3?

That's a good deal that you got your family there.

I called into retentions which transferred me into business retention. I'm not too sure about how that sub situation would work out.

I'm a bit upset though, I called in to have somethings fixed. FIMF was NOT added onto the shared plan like it was promised. That REALLY got me pissed. I'm going to email eCare and find out what can be done.

Here's what my latest debacle with retention got:

1st line:
Same as posted
FIMF was added

shared lines:
All else same except for these things below
100 free text on both for 2 yrs.
$10 vision picture pack for primary
$7.50 vision picture pack for sub

So we ended up paying $17.50 MORE for getting back what was basically the old grandfathered vision. I just realized what we lost : Free pic mail, unlimited vision, 100 text free, $5 download credit. It was a very big give and take basically. It's going to end up being more expensive when the first line upgrades to a power vision phone and has to pay for both ready link and power vision ($25 MORE). :indiff:

Is there ANYTHING to offset the costs of power vision? I'm going to try and have the 1st line converted to SERO because it makes more sense.

I got the standard $40 1,000 anytime minutes, free m2m , nights weekends starting at 7 free....jp morgan chase corp. discount %27 .....$200 credit towards new a920
(so i paid $99)

my question....i tried to get retention the next day to include loyalty discount and n/w starting at 6 for no charge....told no for both.
tried ecare for same....told that corp. discount can't combine with loyalty...is this true?
also told no-go on the 6pm....
should i just keep trying?

Hey good job! How come you didn't try eCare to move the first line to SERO? Is it because you wanted an answer right away? Glad you were able to get your stuff situated.

1st post here. Just found this site. I thought I was the Grandmaster of Sprint CS until I saw the deals people were getting here. I've been w/ Sprint for 6 years now and never have paid more than $50 for a phone. Just got off the phone w/ retention. Here's what I got.

Samsung Blade a900 for $49.00
Samsung a920 free!

My plan is pretty generic. 3 phone lines sharing:
800 AT fair and flexible 7pm NW
Text messaging 5.00 fist 2.50 second none on the 3rd
Plus all the other stuff included w/ the family share plan for 69.99

Total price was 87.49 per month minus 25% company discount. Out the door price was: 65.62 plus tax.

One question...should I ask for a loyalty discount? Like I said we've been w/ them for going on 7 years w/ not 1 late payment.

We don't use too many minutes per month and don't do a lot of EVDO stuff (for now) so getting the deals on the phone was pretty much the big deal for me.

Ok...

Here we go..

I have a buddy on the old 3500 minute plan, with 2 free AAP. He is willing to drop one, althouhg if he could keep it, it would be good.

What is the cheapest price he could get on 2000 or 2500 A/T a month, with the Free AAP, 7 p.m, Vision, and Free PCS-PCS.

Nice job!I'm pretty sure it's a Fair and Flex. I think I remember the rep saying that every additional 50 mins over my plan is a extra $5. I plan on calling and having a rep tell me my plan. I have the reps name/Id just incase any problems. It's funny because I knew that rep would be nice to me just becasue how nice she sounded when she answered the phone. :) It took around 5 calls and a few days to find the right rep. lol

Do you have to change your email for power vision? I've been having problems with my email which was a service issue but I think my email has to be all caps and all my emails/contacts are gone.

When you look at your plan on your account page on your pc is it suposed to show your exact plan with adjustments?

Just a FYI to everyone... I was offered today by eCare a 1500 minute plan which includes free 2nd line (they tell me $20 for 3rd+ line, which makes it sound like a Free & Clear plan) for $75. I just wish they'd make the 3rd+ lines line $10 then I'd totally jump on it.

Confirmed also that they'll let me keep all my current goodies:
FIMF free
$10 vision with $10 credit (free)
PCS-PCS free
$15 unlimited SMS with $8 credit ($7)

And they don't touch the 10% MRC discount and 18% NV discount.

James2012
03-27-2006, 09:27 AM
I'm trying to figure out how you got to $72 from 20% discount should you have received the standard F&F plan...

$89.99 (1500 F&F family)
Minus 20% = $17.99
= $72...

Ok... I'm being confused by $2. I REALLY need to stop looking for a new plan because this is ridiculous. :dazed:

Is there a retention plan phone number to call? I have an account w/ 3 lines. My girlfriend has her own account. I'm going to be moving my number to her account and keeping the other 2 lines separate. I was just given free 6PM n/w on my 3 lines. I'm hoping to get them to transfer this to her account when I move my number. She has been a customer 3+ years, $60+ month. Would she qualify for a good retention plan? Would do it before I move number over.

ok...so I've been working w/ retention the last couple of days. They are sending me 2 phones, an a900 and an a920. I'm paying only $49 for the blade and getting the a920 for free. They're also giving me 6pm n&w for free. Other than that my plan is the regular f&f family shared plan 800 min for 69.00. Minus all my discounts, plus a 3rd line, totalling close to $65-70 per month.

I've been on the phone w/ them the last 3-4 days trying to get a tracking # for my phones, but everytime I call it seems the order was either rejected by the shipping department or mistakes were found in the order and therefore rejected or incomplete.

My questions are, what does it mean when you go through the automated menus, ask for a representative and automatically get the retention (business retention) department. When I called this morning, the retention rep automatically gave me a $20 credit for my troubles (I dindn't ask for it). Would I be crossing the line in asking for more freebies? If so, what would you suggest?

that is a really good deal, i renewed to day and got the 6pm, but i really needed a new phone, so that's why I did it, they also gave me a 10% loyalty off the primary line. I have 3 phones also on a F&F plan, but they didnt offer me any cheap phones like that, do u think i should call back? I'm getting $150 24 month credit on the phone. But all the good phones are $300!

I have 3 phones also on a F&F plan, but they didnt offer me any cheap phones like that, do u think i should call back? I'm getting $150 24 month credit on the phone. But all the good phones are $300!

the $150 credit is what is offered to every joe-shmoe if they complete the 2 year contract. I'd call back and ask for the retention department. Let them know what phone you're trying to get and they can work w/ you. Being that you already signed a new contract you may not have much leverage to bargain with. But...I've known retention to be very generous. Just be very polite w/ them.

ok...so I've been working w/ retention the last couple of days.

I know what you're going thru...i'm in the same situation. I called to have my Treo 650 returned and so i can order the PPC-6700 last monday, then after 3 days...i called back to find out that my order was rejected for some reason. The rep. that i talked to on Thursday said i had to pay full price for the PPC-6700 then i would get the credit back when i return the Treo 650. On Saturday i called to check the status of the phone, to my surprise the CC rep told me that the order has been rejected. I was pissed since i was charged $600 and they reject the order. So he finally cleared it up and made sure the order was processed properly and also gave me a A920 for free on my 2nd line. i called today to check the status of both phones and "shipping and tracking dept" said that the order should ship tonight and i can call to get the tracking number around 10 PST. My suggestion to anyone that is promised a phone or any phone accessories is to make sure you get an order number.

did i mention I was only 9 months into a 2 year plan? and the phone was replaced in November 05? I will happy with what I get, but I can try to get more later. I'm pretty good at that. I did have the free 500 texts on each line, but i went back to the $5/2.50 unlimited on the first 2 lines.

Spoke w/ retention again after 6 days of having to have my phone re-ordered for one reason or another. (it kept getting rejected) Then yesterday they sent one of the phones I ordered to my old address. So last night I told them to scratch the whole deal and cancel everything. This is what they offered me: (and I accepted)

1000 AT minutes
Includes 2 lines
3rd line $10
500 text messaging on all 3 lines
7pm N&W free

All for $50 for the first 2 lines and $10 for the 3rd
$60 total minus a 25% employee/USAA discount
Total before taxes = 45.00
(I was paying $55 AFTER taxes for 2 lines at 750 AT minutes)

Not to mention I got a Blade a900 for 49.00 and a free a920 during the original retention call.

The 920 came in yesterday and the 900 is "out for delivery" according to UPS. I just have to figure which one I'm going to keep for myself.

Im out of my contract, do you think if I signed a new one I could get a BLADE for 49.00 like that? How did you do it, or how would I go about doing it? I really want 2, 1 for an existing line and then I want to add another line.

Touchless,

Hate to say it but you are dreaming. you might be able to get a blade for $99. I am a very very preferred customer and I got one for $99. 349- $150 for another 2 yr renewal HUP. He also knocked off $100 more to bring it to $99. As for the additional line dunno, but good luck!

Got mine (a900) for $49, plus an additional line added w/ the a920. Paying $10 for the line and got the a920 free. I guess I'm a very, very, VERY preferred customer. :strong:

touchless,
I called in saying I wanted to cancel my service and was willing to pay the early termination fee. When retention got on the phone, they asked my why. I told them my job had a deal w/ Verizon where I could get a Razr for $49. The rep put me on hold for a minute and came back and asked me if she could give me the phone for $49 would I stay w/ sprint. I also told her I wanted to add a line. They gave me a cheap camera phone. I didn't want to push my luck so I took it. The next day I called in to check on my order and found out it wasn't complete/ordered correctly. After some chit chat and a little charm I told her I really needed bluetooth, so after a little coaxing she gave me the a920...FREE. Pretty cut and dry. I didn't get the plan that I mentioned above until they kept screwing my order up.

If you want 2 Blades, I'd just ask them. If you're account is in good standing, I believe retention can do ANYTHING. Someone once told me..."asking is free". Good luck.

I tell the *2 rep that I want to cancel and then get transferred to retention. But from what I'm reading here, I guess saying cancel works just as well...if not faster.

Maybe you aren't as preferred as you thought OR you didn't get a generous rep. And you probably didnt dial the Select Services Dept directly. I called to set up my folks on a new contract.. He offered:

2 blades for 49.99 each ...I countered with 2 8300's because samsung sucks he accepted 2 8300's for 35.99 each $40.00 for 1200 mins N&W at 7pm no charge for 2nd line, on both phones unlimited vision with pic mail, unlimited text on the secondary 500 msgs on the primary(via credits that cancel out the charges for text and vision every month)..10% monthly loyalty credit on both lines IN ADDITION to the NVP discount of 25%..THEN he asked me about my account and asked if i wanted free vision with pic and video mail and 500 texts a month at no charge...SO MAYBE YOU JUST DIDNT GET AS LUCKY AS US..I also have been with sprint since their inception and never made a late payment. I've only paid for a phone once with Sprint...back when sony made the click wheel phones and it was called Sprint Spectrum...so maybe that gets me some clout..and I never threaten to cancel..I just say hey cingular offered me this (make up your own offer) and be upfront..i said what do you have to offer to keep me. And you can get even more extras piled on if you wait a few days and contact E-care..i just got a reply back from them offering me an additional 5.00 off each line for renewing ..all I did was email them asking for a loyalty discount IN ADDITION to what I already got...you just gotta know how to work it man.

After reading the last few posts, I feel so cheated paying $300 after taxes for my 1 blade phone. Although I did only sign a 1 year agreement, not 2 like most of you. I did this because I want a new phone every year. It used to be every 18months you were eligible for rebates now its 24months. As long as I keep agreeing to 1 year agreements I can get a new phone but I only get $75 dollars off. Next year I'm going to aim for the full $150 for a 1 year agreement.

I think my plan and phone is just too good to get 2 blade's for 50 bucks each.
I really would like to add a line and exchange my Treo 600 (secondary phone) with a new phone. Both phones being the BLADE but:

1st: I have 5 lines, 2 that I personally use, 4 of them under contract. The line not under contract has 1150 minutes, Power Vision, 500 free text messages, free PCS to PCS, all for 50$ + 15$ = 65$. If I tell them to cancel the line not under contract because I can get 2 RAZRs with another company, they'll just see all my free stuff on that line and say, "You'll have to give up PCS to PCS, etc."

2nd: Remember my main goal is to get the phones, not a better plan, therefore it would be very hard for them to give me a better plan because of the one I have already, then give me the phones. The phones are pretty much a derivative of getting a better plan, a better plan which I don't need.

3rd: I could threaten to cancel all 5 line but remember, 4 are under contract, which means 600$ in ETF. They would laugh at me and say ok unless I told them the other company offered me unlimited minutes for free.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I have a PPC 6700 on the line not under contract.

Just got off the phone with rentention. Was offered the following:

Plan - see sig
15% off all lines
Free Vision and Unlim SMS on line two
Free Vision on line three

It's not as much as what others are getting here, but I was pretty happy about it since it now brings my bill each month to just over $100.

My bill was $105 + taxes for a long until last Sept when I added Picture Mail to line two. That added $7.50 a month. Then adding that took away the unlimited SMS that was on that phone from the start. That incurred another $7.50.

So today's rentiontion offer took my total bill down to $89.25 + taxes, leaving my plan intact. I didn't mind the re-sign I had to do on all 3 lines for that kind of savings.

ok-- so i just got off the phone with sprint and basically just wanted a new (free!) phone and a couple of freebies. i am out of contract (and have been for some time) and have been a good customer with sprint for the past 7 years or so. here is what i got...

* $200 credit for new phone with 2yr agreement (still paying 99 for the a920)
* $30 for 450 a/t mins
* $15 for power vision, pics pack (upgraded from old vision to include tv)
* free $8 for 500 texts, $8 credited back
* free pcs to pcs mins
* free 8pm n/w mins (from previous retention plan, should i have asked for 6/7?)
* 5% off - loyalty
* All in all: about $43 before taxes

i guess what i'd like to know is-- could i have gotten a better deal on vision? or could i expect a better refund on a new phone? a higher loyalty discount? i don't really need more minutes, and i think i have a base-price plan so i didn't want to upgrade to more minutes if it means paying more every month-- and as stated above i had hoped to get the phone for free.

any thoughts?

If you look at my signature, you can see I have a pretty good plan. Although I had to pay $100 ea for the A920's and $200 for the A900, I think my plan will get me there.

My fear with my plan is that when my contract expires in 2 years, my 500 SMS, 7PM N&W and Vision Access recurring credits will disappear, along with my $20 monthly credit.
Now I am only paying only $30 + tax, but I could me paying about $75 +tax if I keep all the add ons.

I would like to get some of the add ons to be added as free instead of to be charged and credited back so I do not get hit when my recurring credits stop. Anyone know if that is do-able?

Also, I was told I was getting $48 1200 min Free and Clear. When my bill arrived, it was $60. They gave me $15 recurring to cover the shortfall. Is there a $48 1200 minute Free and Clear?? The last rep said NO. I would rather get a hard coded $48 plan than a $60 with 2 yr recurring credits. Any help here??

Sorry for the length of this. I just need to know if I'm worried about nothing and should relax. I really like and trust the rep I'm working with now but I read things here about accounts being audited, etc., and it really makes me nervous.

Her'es the story: I began working with Account Services when I called March 27th to cancel my lines and get SERO through the webpage and Inphonics. (Had a valid employee referral, cell number, email addy, but never could manage to get my numbers just moved over.) When I said "cancel" I ended up with account services, and the rep who answered the call worked for a very, very long time to try to get it to happen for me. When he came back he said he still would not be able to transfer my lines to SERO, but he said he could offer me a plan that he felt was as good or better. When he told me what it included, I was floored. Three lines, all netting at $35 p/m. All were 1000 a/t free ld, free roaming, free m2m, n/w @ 6, power vision with unlimited picture mail, unlimited text. on my primary i would also get 180 recurring courtesy minutes the life of the contract. Well, needless to say I was elated and had him sign me up on the spot! But then when the plan showed up on my web account, it was a full-scale mess. He had given me his id number and so I called back, said "cancel" and got to account services again. Unfortunately, this rep was from an outsource center in Sacramento, so they were unable to email him to contact me. As a result, I started to work with the rep who took the call. He said he would work with me and get it done. We went over it all and he was really nice and courteous. I asked him pointblank if the codes existed to get this done and he said not to worry, they did and they would take care of me.

We spoke a few more times since, with the last call just a few minutes ago. I trust him to be honest and that he intends to take care of me if he can, but i'm worried that i may end up not getting what we discussed -- which ended up not what I was originally promised, despite his best efforts. He said he'd worked on the account for hours off and on, but the codes currently DO NOT exist to give me free powervision (all three new phones I ordered and activated are EDVO based on what I was expecting). However, he gave me regular vision with unlimited picture pack. I asked him if they would audit me and force me up to PV. If so, that would amount to $1100 over the life of the plan. He assured me if anything happened to call him.

He worked so hard and said he pulled every string in the book to give me a really good plan. I didn't want to act or sound ungrateful, because I know he's tried hard and the plan I have is a good plan if the vision will work at EVDO speeds (isn't it suposed to anyway?) and I don't get hit with extra charges. BUT I am so worried that the PV problem will come back and bite me in the butt and my special rep will be helpless to do anything about it.

The plan as it stands now is: 3 lines, all identical. 1000 at, free ld, free roam, FIMF, n/w @7 (he coldln't get 6 to work with the other codes), free m2m, Free regular vision with picture pack, unlimited text. with a 15% loyalty discount, the lines will net out at $34 each, which is right about what I was promised initially. I didn't get 6 but I got FIMF so that seems more than fair. The 180 minutes didn't happen (he said it wouldn't fit with the plan?) but hopefully again with FIMF would help offset it. The only thing I'm really worried about is power.

Do I just need to have faith and enjoy my new plan?

I just got a new family plan thru retention, and I'm very happy with the end results.

800 Fair & Flexible family plan

Free nights starting at 7pm, but it expires at the end of the contract. :irked:

$300 off 2 a900

P.V. $15 on primary, and $7.50 on secondary :headbang2

Free 500 sms on primary (wife does not text), but it also expires at the end of the contract. :irked:

$12 for insurance on both phones, which is the normal price.

I still keep my discounts. :music:

I will see 9 years with Sprint now. :fingers: :p

P.S. For all of the S.U. members running around with all of those freebies, get ready for some pain. :bang: They do expire at the end of your contracts.

wow! That's cool you got Vision for free! I wished I could get that! However I just asked for 6pm N&W for the same rate that I pay for the 7pm N&W....they gave it to me but I had to sign another 2 year deal with them. So maybe by the summer of '07 I can see if they will throw in Vision for free.

I called and immediately asked to speak to the retention dept.
I pointed out the rebates they offer new customers on the a900 and the rebates verizon offers on their razr.
Here's what I got after 3 phone calls and 2 1/2 hours on the phone.

For signing a 2-year contract:
A900 for $75 ($200 rebate + $75 rebate for completion of 2-year contract)
1000 minutes Fair & Flexible
Unlimited Text messaging
Unlimited Nights & Weekends, start at 6pm
Nationwide Long Distance
No roaming charges

Price: $40/month
:deal:

Maybe he was just blowing smoke up my ass, but the last guy I spoke to said that the first person I spoke to gave me too much for free, although he ended up giving me a little bit more because the 2nd person I spoke to screwed up. Also, I spoke to someone monday to activate the phone, and that person offered me an additional %15 off, although she seemed stupid and confused, so I doubt that will get put through. I haven't gotten a statement yet, but the last guy I spoke to said it's going to show a bunch of charges, and then a bunch of credits every month. I expect the first 3 bills I get will be screwed up. That's my major complaint with sprint. Their billing dept always screws up anytime there is a change in your plan.

I just wanted to make sure my offer is possible... seems a little unreal. I'm going to call back tomorrow to make sure again.

2200 F&F
7pm N/W
PCS to PCS
Unlimited Txt Msgs
GF Vision

4 lines
250 off per phone (ordered 3 a900's other line will use old phone)

All for $42.50 a month....

Out of pocket was $297

The phone deal seems typical, but isn't that kinda cheap for the plan? The first time I called I was only offered 109 + 10 + 10 x 25% discount for the same plan... this time I get a big difference with the plan.... just being a little skeptical.

FIMF makes all 1st minutes free, anytime, night/weekend/ mobile to mobile. Obviously the only ones you pay for are AT so its all that matters! Like many features, FIMF is NOT for calls during a roaming connection. With FIMF if your call is inder one minute it is totally free with that exclusion.

No, they do not have FOMF and never did / will im sure!

FIMF is a very old option that sprint had about 8 years ago. Most people that get it have been long term customers!

I have a 100 service credit and 750 credit on my account for phones, don't know what the 100 one is for though, if it was reoccuring then it would make more sense, but the 42.50 I still have no idea where they got it from.

Guess I'll just try calling back again.... back to square one. Is there anyway I can contact the rep that gave me the wrong plan in the first place?

Well I did not know that my internet was free so I called Sprint and they transferred me to retentions department and I said that I have this in email form and they went ahead and added free internet for 2 years. Guess its better than the loyalty discount.

Hi,

I posted this in the e-care thread, but I think it may be better suited here:

Hey folks, I was reading through this thread, so I decided to post what I got as a retention plan. I just called and told them that my contract was up and I was happy with the service and wanted to renegotiate the old retention plan that I had. Note that some of my plan was done via retention, other portions were done throug e-care.

$59.99 (includes $10 vision) - 23% corp discount - 10% loyalty
1500 Anytime minutes, free & clear
PCS2PCS
7PM N/W
America Roaming (free via ecare)
500 SMS (free via ecare)
FIMF (carryover from my previous retention plan)
Vision

Does anyone have a retention plan with 6PM nights for free? Also, out of curiosity, has anyone gotten readylink for free?

Frank:

I am sure not an expert but I've just gone through plan negotiations. Here's two options for you, but there's probably a lot more!

1. Do you know anybody in your local sprint store who would refer you for SERO? (if you are unfamiliar with what SERO is search for the threads to learn about it) If it's still available in your area and you're willing to risk losing your phone numbers, that's an option. I had one rep tell me to go ahead and sign up for SERO with new numbers and port my existing ones over -- but I decided I'd give them up and start fresh just to be sure nothing went wrong. I called *2 and said CANCEL and ended up in account services (aka retention). I told the rep what I was calling to do and he offered me a killer plan -- better than SERO.

Which leades me to option 2: Call *2 and say cancel to get to account services. It seems you'll have a better chance at getting a plan and phones you are happy with by talking to a live person rather than going back and forth with Ecare, but I could be wrong. However, I've had serious problems getting what I was offered on the phone to actually materialize in my plan so be sure you get the rep's name and ID in case you have problems. I also knew clearly what I wanted. I knew the details of the SERO plan and the cost. He worked to match or beat the features at the same price. Know what you want and what you want to pay for it and maybe the rep can come up with something that will make you very happy!

Good luck!

I appreciate your thoughts. Ther SERO plan may be out of the question for me.
Two lines have phone numbers that CAN NOT be changed. My phone has had the same number for 12 years. The second one is going on 7 years.

But your thoughts may be right with option 2. I spoke to someone in retensions about a month ago and they gave me what APPPEARED to be a decent deal at the time, yet othjer people talked of much better deals.

They offered me 1500 shared min for my three lines, 7PM nights, m2m, Long distance for $75.00. $99.00 each A900 phone if I committed right there on the spot. The monthly plan was $75.00 or if I needed more minutes $100.00 for 2000 minutes. They would not at the time offer any loyalty discount, yet Ecare in a different eamil said they'd give me 15%. Two weeks later a different ecare person said they would give me 6PM nights. Would love to try and get the different offers combined to just make this happen and get new phones and be done with it. If anyone with Sprint is reading and you get any credit for making a deal, BY ALL MEANS contact me.

I might have to call back and GRAVEL.

Thank you

Frank:

There seems to be an element of karma and random dumb luck to some of this stuff. :) Many people got SERO without losing their numbers almost painlessly. I suppose you shouldn't rule that out as an option and especially if you have a valid referral person it can't hurt to A-S-K. As for the plan, look for things to make the pot sweeter and ask for them. All the rep can say is no. Maybe a rep here can give you a good gauge of what's reasonable and what is approaching shoot the moon status. I do know the key to everything is stay friendly, polite, and if it's really not what you want tell them you'll think about it and call back. Eventually one of you will wear down and a deal with be struck.

Again good luck and let us know how you make out.

I've been in the local store because they had to swap my heandset under warranty. I pay for the protection. Because my phone is a sanyo 6400, it is usually a big conversation since I LOVE the phone. I know some of the people in the stores since they had to swap the phone like 4 times within 3 weeks because the reman phones were on pice of junk after another. Not I got one that works PERFECT. Should I ask one of the people that I've had some polite chit chats?? How exactly do I bring it up??

Frank,

Call back and get w/ retention. Make a list of what you want and tell them that another company is offering you the same deal. You may have to adjust the pricing to make it sound realistic. Retention has the power to offer you a lot more than what you would think. It's getting it out of them that's the trick. Everytime I thought I was pushing the envelope w/ them, they gave me what I was asking for, wheather it be a free $300 phone or a better plan. Case in point was last month when they gave me a free a920 and a a900 for $49. I told them my job had an agreement w/ Verizon where I could get the Razzr for $49 and then I added a line and got the a920 for free. If they pull your bluff, tell them you still want to cancel, but make it effective on your next billing cycle. Your reason being, is that you don't want to mess up your budget and you need time to get your #'s ported and what-not. This will give you time to cool down and call back later to see if someone will give you a better deal. If not, and you really don't want to cancel, you can back out and continue on w/ your current plan. Also, maybe when they see that your serious about canceling they might pull some tricks out of their hat. This strategy has worked several times for me. Just remember to be very polite, but firm. Good luck!

Frank:

if you do want to see if somebody in your local store could refer you to SERO, just ask one of the reps that you know well if they've heard of it and if anybody there would be willing to refer you for it. Now, you may not be able to get anybody to give you SERO with your existing numbers anyway; but if you qualify to get SERO it may help with the retention offer since SERO is a fabulous plan.

It can be frustrating when somebody on this board reports emailing Ecare once and they get everything they ask for and more while you can't get to first base, it seems. (I've also heard weekdays are better than weekends for negotiations but that may be urban legend.)

again, good luck.

I think you would be served better to try to switch all of those plans over to SERO. If you call to cancel (do this one plan at a time), you'll get the retention dept, tell them you want to cancel, and when they as why, tell them you are not happy with your service, and company xxxx is offering you a better plan with a phone (ex: T-mobile 1000 anytime minutes for $40/mo, and right now they will pay you $25 for a RAZR after rebate). If they are a good rep, they will offer you an A900 for free, or really cheap, and then ask for the whatever corresponding SERO plan you want. It just worked for me last week. You may have to call more than once. I had to call three or four times, and I emailed customer care 3 times, finally on the 4th call, I got a worman that worked with me in retention. Give it a shot and good luck. :fingers:

Frank,

You should be able to get both discounts. That is next on my list of things to ask for. If you get the right rep, you should be able to get them to add both discounts (at the very least the corporate one) on the plan, and then you can call or write back later and ask for the other. I actually don't officially have the SERO, it "isn't available in my area." Whatever the hell that is supposed to mean. The rep ended up building me a custom account similar to it. Here is my plan

Power Vision - free
Free America Roaming - free

I think that is it. I was pretty excited about it. I may try to switch over to SERO again later, with another sip code, but I'm happy. Hope that helps.

-Ron :headbang2
Don't even try to switch to a SERO plan, you have a very nice plan there already. Also you might be in a market where SERO isn't available, that is why you have your retention plan.

Unless you didn't get the free unlimited pic/video mail with your current plan? That's the only thing I see lacking on yours.

What is the charge if you go over the 1000 minutes??
Right now I have 1300 minutes for $50.00 with 8PM nights and weekends on my phone. 1000 is a little light for me. But all the other **** added is GREAT for $40.00.

Thank you

I'm right in the middle. Flashdance's deal for $40.00 was VERY good. 1500 minutes would be a bit overkill. Still tryng to determine if it is best to keep all three phones split, or to combine all three into a family plan type scenerio with about 1600 minutes

Thank you

Yes... They either have no clue as to what I am talking about or they direct me to the advertised plans on the site

I was just offered a retention plan today and I wanted to see what you guys think. They offered the 400 minute f/f plan for $32 with pcs2pcs and u/l n/w at 6pm. They also offered the a920 for $50. Though I have never used vision, I like the idea of having it and wonder how useful it would be and that's why i'm also considering the 500 min Sero plan. Any advice?

It takes time, but usually you can get whatever you want. My most recent new contract got me this:

2x A900's for 50$ total.
69.99 F&F plan w/ 33% total discount (to cover both phones PV)
Unlimited texts
Unlimited nights and weekends at 6pm
Unlimited Sprint to Sprint
An additional 10% from the promo flyer posted elsewhere (did it two days after first 2 year contract too, works anytime.
Free second line.
With taxes and all, my bill us sub 100 dollars for more bells and whistles than imaginable to me. That does include 12 bucks a month for both phones protection plan. For the next few months at least gonna keep that, just in case something goes south!

I have the F&F America For Families
800 ATM
Sprint to Sprint unlimited
6 pm unlimited N&W
Nationwide Long Distance
American Roaming
5% Loyality Discount

For three phones plus tax comes to around $89.00 a month. I'm not sure if this is a good deal or not. What do you guys think?

I am jealous over the folks who get free unlimited Vision. When I ask for it, they told me it was not available but when it does become available they would give it to me. Yeah....right!

Malibu.... that seems ok. There are others that have gotten better deals, but for three phones, it's not too bad. Especially if that $89 includes tax.

I'm at $104 including tax for my plan (listed in my sig)

Asking for free vision seems to be a crap shoot. One of my lines that had no vision, they added it without asking me... which was nice.

The only problem with SERO is that it is an individual plan, i.e., you can not share the minutes with your other 2 phones. It's something to consider.

The person I spoke to talked about this 20% discount. Yet for some reason, I am not sure if it's good or NOT.

Spoke to someone about a month ago, and just APPEARED like a better deal. I just don't want to get myself jammed up. I've been with them for ages, but just didn't feel like they were giving me all that good a deal.

The Samsung 920, I just told the rep that my dad needed a bluetooth phone. He first told me that it would cost $100 for the phone, but I just asked nicely if he could give me a discount. He told me to wait a few minutes and when he came back, he offered it to me for free. Even the Sanyo 2300...he first told me that they were $30 per phone. After he told me that, I asked him if he had any free phones that was Vision capable. He again put me on hold and when he came back he told me that he would charge me for only 2 phones and send the other 2 free of charge. It was unbelievable...it just seemed like anything I asked for the rep was like, "Wait a minute.." and when he came back he was like okay I'll do that. He let me know that Vision wasn't compatible with the 920 so he told me that he would give me PowerVision for only $5. The only thing I couldn't get out of him was FIMF. Then again, I didn't really push it since he hooked me up so much.

After he gave me all that for my dad...I jokingly asked him if he could give me FREE R-LINK and FREE VISION on my accout and he said sure. I gave him my account info and he just went ahead and added FREE R-LINK and VISION. I even called back today to verfiy that this wasn't all a mistake and they told me that everything was in place and I had nothing to worry about. Needless to say, I am very happy right now.

Another thing that made me smile was that every rep that saw my dad's account was like, "wow...I've never seen a plan this good before..."

So bitter.

I agreed to a new retention plan two months ago and picked up a new treo with the following terms:

1000 Anytime $40
Free 7pm N/W
Free Vision
$5 U/L Text messaging
5% loyalty discount
$6 insurance

And I would keep my 12% NVP. Well, last month I didn't get the NVP or the free vision so i called to see what was happening. They explained that the nvp wouldn't work with the loyalty so they removed both and added back in the loyalty.

This month I again didn't get the NVP or the free vision so I just got off the phone. Apparently I got booted from the NVP since I no longer work at my old company and they checked to verify when I added it back in. He also explained that since I was on the $10 pcs vision from a few years ago the free vision code would not work with it. He would have to take me off of it, but I would lose my $5 u/l text messaging since the new vision codes don't work with the old u/l text messaging. I asked if he could just up my loyalty to 15 or 20% and he said it wouldn't work with a retention plan.

So now I only have the 5% loyalty, no free vision, and lost my 12% nvp...I'm incredibly bitter because I'm coming in $20 higher than what I thought I would be coming in at. Was the rep correct in saying he couldn't up my loyalty discount and that he couldn't give me the vision credit?

Thanks for the help!

It's possible that the rep just couldn't up your loyalty or give you the vision credit. It truly is a crap-shoot.

When I had your plan a few months back, I had everything plus America roaming for $5 except the insurance and my bill came out to $52.15 after taxes. I didn't have free vision, I paid $10 for it and I got the $5 u/l SMS.

I had a 15% NVP discount and a 5% MRC discount.

From what I have experienced, there are some difficulties adding things to a retention account through a "regular" representative. The people at retentions are the ones with the power to do anything, especially with a retention plan.

Can we say "green with envy?" Geez what a deal! When I wrote to Sprint and asked for Free Vision after they were using my ATM for PCS to PCS calls I got this reply;

Further,as per your request about the free vision services, at present
it is not possible to configure this service to your account as free as
the system does not allow it but when it will be possible we will
change
it to your account.

So how did I make out..

Retention gave me 20% off right off the bat. Then I tried to talk out something further with him. He told me since I have grandfathered prices ($5 unlimited text, $5 vision) that if he were to give me a rention plan instead of just the discount, I would end up paying the same price because he would have to throw away my grandfathered prices.

So then he worked to see what discounts I was up for, and he ended up giving me 15% federal employee, 15% reservist, and the original 20% he offered straight away.

So with my preferred customer discount of 15%, and my USAA Afinity discount of 5%, I have 70% off. I think I made out insanely well, thoughts?

Not to brag or anything...but I just scored another excellent deal!

I have my own family plan with 2 phones...I originally ordered 2 Sanyo 2300s. Well, couple days after I got the phones, I found out from SU that the newer Sanyo 3100s were coming out. I tried calling everyday asking if the phones were in stock, but every time they didn't know what I was talking about. When I called in several times, I kept asking the rep when the last day was for the 14-day return policy. Every one of them told me April 25. Well, today (April 24) I called again, and this time they actually had it in stock (telesales) but they transferred me to customer care because they told me that I had to pay for the 2 phones (sanyo 3100s) up front. I wanted them to send me the new phones for free and after I receive the new phones, I was going to send in my old phones so that I would have a working phone the whole time. Well, after some convincing, they gave me a credit of $400 so that they could send me the new phones without me having to pay.

Anyway, so the lady in telesales tells me that she found the sanyo 3100 in stock and she would place the exchange order for me. Well, she put me on hold and after a few minutes, she comes back and tells me that my 14 day return period had expired!!! I was very upset, so I let her know that I've talked to several different reps earlier and that they all told me that my last day was the 25th. Well, she couldn't do anything for me so she transferred me to retentions. The rep there offered me 2 Samsung A920s for free for the inconvenience and also that they would honor the 14-day return policy of april 25th. I asked for the A900 instead, but she told me that I would have to pay the difference of $50. I said no and I asked for the Sanyo 7500 for free since it's the same price
