If you get the unlimited plan, it's for incoming and outgoing (single line only).

As of this week, all plans and codes that are not currently offered are no longer available to agents. So trying to get 5pm free, unlimited incoming free or anything we no longer offer is a lost cause.
Just a heads up.

I called to check my contract expiration date. I have 3 lines...all with different dates. One is expired, one is expiring in a week, and the other expires in Jan '09. I already have...
For a 2-year renewal, Sprint offered...
... $70 credit per line ($210)
... $150 credit towards new phone for two lines
... $75 credit towards new phone for one line
... eligible for any mail-in rebates offered on a phone

So what should I ask for when I call in to upgrade to a Treo 800w Next month? I have a 1400 min plan with unlimited data and messaging for $149 a month for 2 lines, but only 1 plan has the data on it...my wife doesn't need anything but the phone part...she hates texting and data.

sprint changed their plans. right now they have a 1500 share plan with unlimited data and text and gps for $130 or $139 with 2 phones included, ask them if they would be willing to upgrade your "defective" to the treo 800w for free if u return the old phone with a kit and change to the new plan in exchange for signing a new 2 year contract
here it is $129.99 a month (http://nextelonline.nextel.com/NASApp/onlinestore/en/Action/DisplayPlans?filterString=Share_Plans_Filter&id12=CHP_PlansTab_Link_SharePlans)
Have fun with your phones —unlimited email, Web, TV, text and more.
This plan includes
* Unlimited data and messaging: Web surfing, email, BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS), GPS Navigation, Sprint Music Premier, Sprint TV® Premier, text, picture, and video messaging
* Unlimited mobile to mobile, night calling and weekends starting at 7 p.m.
* Lines 1-2 included, lines 3-5 are $19.99/line/mo.
* Domestic long distance and roaming

Does anyone know how apt retentions is to make deals nowadays? I'm looking to renew on one of the new shared voice/mess/data plans with 3 lines, but I'm hoping that I can get the 3rd line free, as well as a loyalty discount. Has anyone had success getting either of these lately since the recent changes? I'm also trying to get the Pick 3 that I was told I would be able to get a while back.

Call'em up and give it a try. The word is they're tougher to deal with now. Apparently they're desperate for more money......

It is my understanding that all plans have a title/category that they are placed under.
For example, the current title/category plans Sprint has is called:
Simply Everything
Talk/Message/Data Share
Talk/Message Share
Talk/Message
Sprint Basic
Etc.
I was told that the Instinct will work only under the Simply Everything & the Talk/Message/Data Share plans. Furthermore, this is verified on Sprint's webpage with the following statement:
To take full advantage of the Instinct's expansive features, you'll need an innovative approach to service. That's why we're only offering the Instinct with Everything or Talk/Message/Data Share plans, which include domestic voice, e-mail, texting, GPS navigation and more.
My current retention plan (that is also currently expired) is categorized as Free & Clear. Are there any current retention plans that are categorized as the Simply Everything or the Talk/Message/Data Share? I've been reading the other forums and it seems nobody can activate the Instinct unless they sign up under one of the 2 plans. I was hoping that Retention Dept. can offer me a plan that is categorized under either "Simply Everything" or "Talk/Message/Data Share".

So how do you guys suggest I begin my conversation with retentions? I kinda don't like saying I'm considering canceling, although I am in no way bound to Sprint. I have been considering Tmobile just because in my market they have good reception and because through letstalk.com I can get some BB Curves for free. Is it a good idea to mention this? Also, do I just straight out ask for a loyalty discount or is there some better sounding way to ask for one? Also, I've been offered some cool things here and there by other reps, but I wasn't able to sign a new contract at those times due to waiting for same Sprint/nextel phones on shared plans. Should I ask them if they can honor such offers? Thanks for the help!!

sprint is removing existing loyalty discounts from long time customers without their knowledge so i would assume that they are not handing out loyalty discounts anymore.

I have been trying to renew my contract for about 35 days. I've spoken to about 12 people at Sprint and been bounced like a rubber ball between ecare, retentions, and some lady at Dan's email account. For the record do not bother emailing Dan with contract issues. I tried it when they started avoiding my hard questions about my disappearing discounts. She wouldn't even honor my phone prices quoted by ecare. Sprint has tightened up since I got here about 8 years ago.

I ordered a BB Curve on 6/19 and have still not received it, despite promises of "overnight shipping."
I have the SEP450 plan with employee discount for a total of $59.xx.
Since it has take 8 days for overnight shipping (and an estimated 5 more by one supervisor), is there any way i can negotiate reducing my bill.
Would it be better if I threaten to cancel my account before I receive my phone or after I receive my phone (but within the 30 days)?
I am really frustrated over their lies about shipping dates and times and it has cost me a lot of productivity at work.
Where do i stand?

So I spoke to retentions yesterday and was offered this so far:
-3000 min V/T/D plan
-3rd line @ 9.99
-10% discount on primary line
-$10 reoccurring credit
-2 Curves at $149.99 and 1 Sanyo @ 79.99
I'm pretty surprised that someone was finally willing to deal with me as I called a few times earlier and got fed the same line that they cannot do anything. So far the RMC has dropped from about $190, before taxes, to about $153. Like I said, so far I'm happy. However, I was was going to try to get that 3rd line free and 6pm added on free as well. However, I don't want to push it. What do you guys think? The reason I was given this offer was because I was able to get a deal from Tmobile for 3000 min, 2 BB data plans, unlmtd txting, and 15% off making it $136, which is still cheaper. Should I use this point to try to justify getting the 3rd line free (as Tmob offered) and 6pm nights as well? Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!

I was very happy, we have been with sprint for 7 years, and no will be 2 more. I made sure to tell the supervisor of the agent how glad I was and how helpful she was. I am very happy with sprint. They gave use a 100 dollar rebate on each phone at the price of 229 and then a 100 dollar rebate on each phone, so it was 129 and also a 50 dollar credit for each phone, making it only 79.99 dollars for each phone. Based on the previous posts (page 167) that you can still get good deals. Try & use the 1000 minute plan as a basis to get your new plan. I believe it's 1000 minutes for $40.

There could be alot at play here ---
Do you have a low monthly bill?
Do you have a low credit rating?
Do you pay your bills ontime always?
Is your NVP already really high? (it would transfer to the 1500min plan)
I think Sprint tends to "deal" more with the longterm clients that have higher bills, high credit ratings and pay ontime (autopay another plus)

There you go -- they are offering a comparable "gooddeal" to what you got before ..
You said you were paying around 100 So if you are on the 129 plan minus 16% NVP puts you at about 109 plus tax for the best of data and lots more min than you need....
At the 75 dollar rate you mention as your target you are basically asking for another 25% discount off what your currently paying or almost 42% off their $129 plan ... I don't see that happening in todays "new " atmosphere.
Maybe if you asked for less like getting the 129 plan with your 16% nvp and a 15 dollar credit ? Maybe your asking too much? ... jus saying :)

Ok so this is what I signed up for so far to start on 7/7/08:
3000 min V/M/D plan
-10% off primary line
-$10 discount off primary line
-3rd line for $9.99
Total monthly charge-about $154
2 BB Curves @ $139.99 each
1 Sanyo Pro 700 free
I'm pretty happy with it so far. I'm just gonna try getting the Pick 3 added on as I was promised a while back and try for unlimited incoming. If I can get those 2 add-ons then I can lower my plan down to 1500 minutes therefore saving about $30 a month.
Also, has anyone had any luck lately stacking percentage discounts? Or maybe I should ask if they can give me another credit discount in lieu of the percentage discount from my employee?

Here's my story:
On 21-June-2008 I got my monthly bill: $952. :scare:
Now, my normal monthly is usually about $225 incl tax (see above.)
Yes, you guessed it, the new billing system :td: was trying to make back its development costs. It had billed me $.40 for EVERY minute, shared, N&W and M2M on the 2nd+3rd Lines.
Well, I had had enough. :bang: I sat down and starting making notes for when I called to cancel my service. (Verizon and AT&T are great in my area) When I got to 20 various errors/problems originated by Sprint in just the past year, I was primed.
I called and the regular agent was great on the phone. Spoke Canadian English (there's a lot of that going around now :D, and I WILL NOT talk to someone who learned English as a second language ;-) )
She said that she would look into the billing, that it was "probably" the new billing system and she would look at my plans to reduce my costs and call me back the following Wednesday with a solution. Since I am mostly a patient person, I agreed.
Well, Wednesday came and went. I was busy and couldn't call in during CS hours. Finally a few days later, I was working at a client and my phone started going off like crazy with text messages saying my account and plan had been changed, etc. Since I was on client time, I couldn't do much about it until the following day, when I sat down and looked at my account online. Everything looked good, except when I went to look at the contract dates, one of the phones (which had expired 18 mos earlier) showed it was expiring two years from yesterday. :irked: OK, now that was ENOUGH! :frustrate --- No call back, and now my plans are changing without my consent...
I called and told the automated :bang: bimbo I wanted to cancel (of course she claimed she didn't understand and was transferring me to an agent smarter than her.) The first agent I got was not cancellations/retention but a regular CSR. He tried to help me and tried to talk me down, but I was too hot. He credited my account for the correct amount, but couldn't give me ANY definitive answers on any why's or if it would happen again --- he just claimed he could fix it all (except the contract date!) and try to help me (just like the first rep a week earlier.) Well, I had had enough of that, and finally said STOP, I want to CANCEL. He tried the "poor CSR gets bad marks if they can't help someone" routine, but I was fed up. FINALLY I got to retentions.
The retentions guy I got was polite, but I could tell he was not a wheeler or dealer. I patiently listed my complaints: $900 bill and contract change, and started listing all the problems over the past year. When I got to number 10, he stopped me and said that he could fix the contract date, and make sure the billing problem wouldn't happen again and "What can Sprint do to keep me?" He offered that he could make changes to plans, and possibly some one-time credits to make up for phones.
I said that I could see that MANY MANY others like me had gotten great plans and reduced price phones, and that I just wanted a fair deal, and a little extra compensation for all of my trouble and time on the phone with the Eastern Hemisphere.
He still maintained that he could not do much in the way of phones, that there was no way I could get back to him later, and that everything had to be handled then on the phone, or I could take the regular phone deals after that. Well, I ordered a Centro at $99 (after rebates/stuff) and he said he would give me a $25+$25 credit for that. I said I couldn't decide on the Touch or Mogul and he backed off at that point and said he couldn't do anything for the high end phones and that he could lose his job if he did (FAR CRY FROM A YEAR AGO!)
He suggested that it might be possible to get a few small credits if I called back in and ordered a phone, but that the plan he had offered was about it for that call. Since I had not totally decided between the Mogul/Touch/Palm, then I said ok, thanks, I would wait for my next bill and see how it goes, but for the moment, I would not cancel.
The deal I got is significantly better than what I had before, :fingers: although I didn't get much in the way of consideration for phone upgrades.
:deal: New Plan:
3-Lines Mogul+Centro+PM8200 --- F&CFamily2000 $85 incl EVDO-Casual + N&W7pm + ea-1000-SMS
+ 2ndLine$0 + 3rdLine$10 + Unl-Vision $7.50 ea + TEP $7 ea Total 128.50+13%tax
I did end up paying the going rate for a Mogul, $249 after rebates/stuff, and we haven't figured out an upgrade on the PM-8200 yet (he can't decide.)
So, not a bad deal?

I got this in about August, of last year, but just found this.
I was living in Louisiana, at the time, and was moving back to Nebraska. I called up under my buyer's remorse. Out of a stroke of luck, I got a rep. from Omaha, NE (the city I live in) and explained my situation.
I was moving back and in Omaha, we have Cricket, which is bad coverage, but $40/mo unl. text, min, picture messages. He said okay and asked me to hold on. He comes back and states: "Okay, I just had to speak with my manager to see if it was okay to add this." He gave me a $20.00/mo unlimited voice plan and a $30.00/mo unl. text and data package. I said deal and been with ever since.
And recently, I did a *way* early upgrade to a BlackBerry Pearl at 2 year pricing!

I have been working retentions for a few friends. They will do nothing for you unless you tell them that you are cosidering leaving. Most will not even work with you unless you say that you called to cancel.
What do you do if you don't intend on canceling and they say something like, "Okay, let's cancel your account"?

I've dealt with executive services/retentions a dozen times since 1996 and the NEVER say that. If they did I would ask for a supervisor.
There is no per se intending or not intending to cancel. There is intending to cancel if they can't give you the best they can. While there may or may not be quotas and commissions for retentions personnel, you can bet there are metrics on how many customers they lose (weighted assuredly on the individual customer's profitability number) and periods of time (say beginning or end of a reporting period) when they can give more or less incentives, (credits or discounts)to keep the customer.
You are doing the retention specialist a favor when you say you are considering canceling. This is the trigger they need to make you a better offer then current plan or give you credit for the (frequent) billing mistakes that make you waste time calling.

I see. So I can use billing mistakes to my advantage? I just express my frustration and that's about it. They never seem to do anything for me even though countless times there are random charges for text messaging for example. Either way, I think I will wait till the 13th in case something for SERO comes out and I can use it as leverage.

I have been with Sprint for a longer time, around 15 years.
Although it is very rare for Sprint to say that, I did hear that personally a couple of times.
Again, very rare compared to all the times that I have called, but they have done it. I quickly hang up :D

I called today when I noticed my account was suspended. - I was like
W O W- My monthly due is below $60/month. Which post on the 8th (today) of every month.
Was charged 154.00 for the month.
To make this simple:
I did ESN swap last month and some how my plan was changed to a plan with no text / internet.
After being transfered 2 times.
The nice lady found the error and issued me a credit of $115.
Changed my plan back to SERO 1250
Added vision for $8/month
issued a $10/month credit
Here is where it gets confusing to me.
Data plan (same as vision) comes with SERO 1250 correct?
I have not paid for web usage since signing up for SERO.

I got this retention plan pretty recently. Its actually all coincidental. I had a normal plan and had a year and a half left on my contact. I wanted to get SERO though. Soi needed a way to get out of my contract first. I got this notice in the mail saying they were discontinuing voice command. To be honest i dont even know wat voice command is and i dont use it. So i called them and was like u guys are getting rid of voice command which is a change in my contract which allows me to opt out. I had to explain it to the billing guy 3 times then he transfered me to retentions. The retentions guy knew wat i meant right away. I told him id stay if he could give me sero, he said he couldnt, so i told him fine i want u to get rid of my contract and i want to stay on without a contract so he did it. Then i called back a week later to try to get sero since i wasnt under contract it still wasnt happening. I came to the conclusion that id either have to cancel my contract and sign on with a new number (which i didnt want to do) or switch my number to prepaid and switch back which is a pain in the ass. I figured id try one more time so i called retention again. This time the lady was nice she told me she couldnt switch me to sero but she could make me a plan just like it but it wouldnt be called sero. I said no problem. She told me she wasnt able to do it with 500mins she had to do it with the 3000. I said great if its the same price she said yes. Here is my plan:
Free and Clear 3000
3000 A/T mins
Roaming
Unlimited N/W
Unlimited data (internet)
Unlimited texts
long distance
All for 25 bucks
Plus i get 25% Corp discount
My bill comes out to about 20 bucks a month
Oh i also got a 50 buck credit when i opened that new contract

What do you do if you don't intend on canceling and they say something like, "Okay, let's cancel your account"?
well, a lot of customers always BS and have no intention of cancelling their accounts, so reps need to start saying and DOING it if someone brings up Verizon or at&t, like they are going to make the switch if they ARE NOT GIVEN THIS, AND THAT!
I don't like arrogance and if I was an agent and had the green light, would cancel those arrogant people with their nasty tones!
And do so with a smile on my face while talking to them too.
There is a difference between making comparisons to an offer or another carriers pricing/plans, and being completely belligerent as if you are the ISH AND DESERVE SOMETHING.
Tip! And just so they can't weasel their way out of the cancel you'll give them, simply overtalk them and do not allow room for them to interject while you are canelling their behinds! PLACE EM ON HOLD...Then afterwards, simply ask, is there anything else that I can do for you today? YES!

sprint is glad he doesn't work for him either, it is exactly this kind of CS rep they have been firing.
Saying you are going to cancel when you are not intending to -- is the direct result -- and we ALL know this -- of a sprint policy of forcing you to do so in order to get to a higher level CSR. The lower level CSR can only screw up your account and can't fix it with proper codes if you are a long time customer.

people threaten to cancel things all the time, not just with sprint...any service
it is not the CS reps (with a high school diploma) to judge wether it is a bluff or not, but to simply help out the consumer to the best of his/her ability
It's people that work for sprint like 'the spcs guy' that makes sprint look bad

keep an eye on those service credits. it sounds like sprint gave you too much money. you may as well check it out now because if you wait, and sprint determines they over applied credits, they will want their money and you may not have it too give. if you check it out now, at least they can just remove the over applied credit plus it wil put you in good standing. if you wait, and it is determined you were given to much money, sprint will not be too happy, considering you did not notify them.

Missed out on the Sero Plan as I neglected the deadline.
I have been with sprint for 6 years, rarely ever call to complain, and I pay my bills on time.
However after speaking with retentions/account manager they offered me the following deal for $50 for two lines:
Free and Clear plan 1000 A/T, 6pm N&W, M2M, no roaming charges, EVDO both lines, 500 Text both lines, $140 ($70 per line) and Got the Treo 800w and the Centro 250.00 and 125.00 respectively.
I also have a corporate discount of 24% but I'm not sure if they'll let me add this as I haven't tried to add it yet to this plan. When should I try to initiate this discount? Should I wait a little bit or do it asap?

you should not have a problem adding this discount as you have already had it applied to your previous plan. you could have asked to have retentions apply it at the time they gave you the plan.
but you can call customer service and ask to have it added.
maybe it was better to wait, as retentions may have hesitated to give you the nice plan and perks you received, but i have a feeling they would have applied the discount but no harm done as you can add it now.
Btw, i didnt know they were still giving the free n clear plans out. i have the 2000 anytime minute plan with 3 lines for $100 before discounts and some nice add ons.

I've been with Spring since 2004, would like to sign up for another 2 year plan and I'm wondering what I can get. I know Sprint's tightened its belt lately, so I'm wondering if all/none of these are feasible.
I currently have:
1000 F&C $50 shared between 2 lines
7pm n&w, roaming, m2m
300 texts $5
Business discount 23%
With taxes I pay about 48/month
I got a letter in the mail this week stating that I could get a 10% loyalty discount is I re-up before 8/31. I called the 800-number and got the dreaded "we can't stack discounts." They did offer a one-time service credit of $70 + $15 if I called before 8/15. That's not great.
So I guess that's set in stone, huh? Has anyone been able to stack in the past year?
I would like Free unlimited texts and 6pm n&w. That I think I could get.
But my wet dream is a data plan for $5 so I can get the Blackberry Pearl. Is this possible? I know they require it with the phone. If so, how do I go about it?
If not, I'm thinking the HTC Touch which has no such requirement. I am eligible for the $150 rebate, the phone is $99 online, can I apply my discount?
Any and all other suggestions are welcome, thanks for your help!

I also got a letter in the mail With my last bill stating that I could get a 10% loyalty discount if I re-up before 45 days. I went staight to Retentions via *2 and then saying "Cancel". I was pushing for The $85 deal I have seen on Sprintusers. IST REP could not find a plan of that nature so i hung up and called back 2nd Rep offered me the $85plan but could only give me vision free only @discount rate. Told me everyhing on original plan would stay the same except Min upped, 6pm N&W and Sprint Unl Vision Pack@$7.50, Free Roaming (0 and now shared) NEW PLAN OFFERED:
2000 F&C shared
6pm n&w, m2m, Free AAP
500 texts ea. line, FIMF(Primary),
Unl Vision Pack $7.50(x2) EVDO Casual, Roaming $0(shared)
Still retained Business discount 25%
I pay about $75 before taxes
BUt I couldnt get The 10% added on. I too got the dreaded "we can't stack discounts." and instead offered me a one-time service credit of $70. Well i didnt take it and decided to call back again.......Here is were it gets interesting. I was told that because of the amount of calls i have made in such a short time(3days 5 calls) she could not help me but would forwardmy request to an Account Services Escalation Manager...Yikes...not good!! Stay tuned for my next post cause new offers are thrown my way...lets just say new Everything Plans r out there!!!!

I've been with Sprint since 2000 and decided to call to negotiate contract after seeing the $85 2000min plan @ Sprintusers and getting an offer thru mail.
I currently have:
1000 F&C $50 shared
7pm n&w, m2m, Free AAP
500 texts ea. line, FIMF(Primary),
Unl Vision Pack $10(primary) EVDO Casual, Roaming $5(shared), PCS Picture Mail
Business discount 25%
I pay about $48 before taxes

sounds like you received a nice offer. hopefully you did not risk that offer by denying those offers in the hope of getting something better. Sounds like you are looking for that 10% loyalty discount.
regarding the loyalty discount, if that is why your request was escalated, let the account service rep know that you received the offer of the loyalty discount via a sprint offer in the mail. when the rep says the discounts cannot be stacked, ask for a service credit of some sort. maybe $100 or so spread out over the course of 10 months or paid out in one lump some. be pleasant and cordial and see what happens.
if denied, see if you can get an add on of some sort or maybe a $0.00 charge for an add on that you are paying for now. or just accept the plan as offered, which sounds pretty good, if that plan appeals to you.

Oriion - so we had very similar plans except you had the Vision pack for ~50... now you are at $75, it seems like a very large increase, but I see you got 2000 minutes. I don't need that many even though my plan is shared. During the day my calls are usually from work.
I walked into a Sprint store today to look at the phones. it seems that I can't get the Blackberry because it's a $30 plan, not $20 data plan - and I doubt they would give me that for $5. The Touch is Windows-based, that bugs me out.

My last post I indicated I couldnt Get a 10% loyalty Stacked on to my 25% Employee discounts even though the offer was sent to me by mail with last months bill. An Account Services Escalation Manager calls me on my cell after 2 quick emails...Looking at the plan offered to me and my 8yr good standing history He cuts to the chase and again states Sprint no longer Stacks discounts and has steered away from giving mthly Service Credits, those days seem to be gone, so to compensate me for the amount I am losing each month we decided to AAP for free(3rd Line) with all lines sharing 6pmN&W, m2m, Roaming and he threw in FIMF(ea. line, didnt ask for it but he gave, so i took :) and Additional 500txt For 3rd line also....He Hooked me up with 3 new phones with new customer Pricing...Im pretty happy ...feels nice to be loved:)
My New PLan:
2000 F&C Family Plan $85 shared
6pm n&w, m2m, 500 texts ea. line, FIMF(ea. line), Roaming $0, EVDO Casual,
Free AAPx2
Unl Vision Pack@$7.50(x2)
Still retained Business discount 25%
And I still pay $75 before taxes
at one point He had also offered me the Samsung Instinct W/ family Everything Plan w/ 3 phones for only $112 only catch is 1500ATM and thiers a 2 week wait on the phone, its out of stock. Im going the cheaper route...grabbing my phones and running out the store before they change thier mind.

i also have a 2000 anytime free n clear with 3 lines total. my third line is $20 with a $10 monthly reoccurring credit which i got when i added my Dad to my plan 2 years ago. maybe i can get that discounted even more. my Mom's line is a free aap. I may only want to sign a new contract for my line though, but i will see.

We just re-upped for 2 years last night. Please tell me if it was a good deal.
2 Treo 755s for $149 each (no MIR)
Our plan:
800 Anytime
N&W at 7
Free Roaming
Power Vision for $5 each
500 texts for $1 each
M2M
Our bill was about $56 after taxes and we only added the second Power Vision and the 2 text plans so $7. We got a 10% retention discount and a $70 credit.
Is it worth contacting ecare about free incoming, first minute free or 6 N&W?
FWIW, the first rep I spoke too was impossible. She would only give me the 2nd Power Vision for $5 and nothing else - no retention discount, nothing. I called back to CS and got another lady that was great! She kept giving and giving. After scoring the phones for $100 off and no MIR and the texts, I decided not to push further.
Do I have a good plan?

Interesting - I think that's how I am going to get a discounted Blackberry data plan (fingers crossed $10). I'm going to complain about them not stacking the discounts I have and not honoring an offer they gave me - which is actually a valid complaint because they sent me the piece of paper, it's not my concern what their policy is, they should have taken my existing disc into account before offering something they couldn't provide. Hopefully I get a good rep.
Anyone think that's unethical?

alexm,
I dont think what ur asking is too unreasonable. I made the same
points when I called CS...they knew full well what my plan was when they offered me the discount. Only select individual got that offer in the first place. So hopefully with the right Rep and a little bit of luck u can get something added to ur plan thats either discounted or free to make up the difference u woulld be losing since the new system no longer stacks. Thats what happened to me. Good Luck.

The vast majority of people can't get discounts stacked... but Sprint has told me directly and explicitly in an email (from eCare) that I will receive both my loyalty and corporate discounts. I've seen one other person post that its worked for them too. So it is possible. The funniest part is I would be perfectly willing to trade my small loyalty discount for another perk like 6pm NW, so of course I don't get the chance :)

Sorry but i dont know the abbreviations could someone help me out. FIMF, AAPx2, FWIW
FIMF=First Incoming Minute Free
AAP=Add A Phone (x2 would mean 2 add a phones. With cellular service, if you had a plan with AAPx2, that would mean you have a primary line plus 2 additional lines)
The above are acronyms associated with cellular service
FWIW=For What It's Worth
Hope that helps you out.
Btw, in the F&Q section, there is a thread with a whole bunch of Acronyms.

OK, so I renewed my contract yesterday - here's what I got.
To recap, my old plan
1000 F&C w/ AAP $50
N&W 7pm/Roaming/M2M
300 Text $5, 23% biz disc
Phones: A900 & very basic LG
New plan:
Same everything except I now got 1000 Texts for free ($5/month savings) and 6pm N&W.
Phones: I got the Muziq and the Blackberry Pearl for $369 with $300 service credits and a $50 mail-in rebate for the Muziq, so I got both for $20.
I got them to give me the Pearl w/o a data plan, I said I would "add it on later." The regular Pearl plan is $30/month, I don't want it. I'd rather get Power Vision for $20, and I'm thinking that I can knock that down to 5 or 10. If I do that, I get an additional $100 mail-in rebate for the Pearl.
Not bad, eh?
*I ordered late last night and I don't see the order yet, I know it takes a few days so I am keeping my fingers crossed. So far, only the $200 svc cr, txt msgs and 6pm nights have hit sprint.com. Worse case scenario (say they don't approve shipping out a Bberry w/o a data plan) I get the Touch, which doesn't require it.

I've been told that percentage discounts cannot be stacked (i.e. Business + Loyalty), but what about recurring service credits in dollar amounts ($15 + $10 monthly discounts)? Are the dollar amounts more "stackable" so to speak?
Yes, I do realize that some people are able to get two percentage discounts to stack. Just generally speaking here....

I love this. So the 2000/85 plan is still availiable? I talked to multiple reps who told me that it was no longer in the system. Please confirm this as i would love to call in again and get this. Yeah, I know. Sometimes it seems like Sprint is kinda "Bass Ackwards" in the way they do things.... or is it just me who feels this way? ;)
For example...
Account #1- I've had for 4+ years. I was told I'd get 15% business plus 15% loyalty discounts in exchange for renewing my 2 year contract, so I upgraded to the $69.99 Everything Plan. However, they refuse to add the 15% loyalty discount now, saying the system will not allow both discounts.
Account #2- SERO plus BlackBerry Pack. It was no problem for them to add multiple recurring credits to this account and they seemed happy to do it.
In other words, I was able to get more "discount" on my brand new SERO line than I am for my 4+ year old account. Just seems a little weird to me. :icon_smil

What kind of credits were they adding to the second line? Were they percentage discounts or dollar amount discounts? They can add multiple dollar amount discounts to plans (though they generally don't on SERO plans) but they will usually not add more than one percentage discount to a line.

No they are not, in my experience. I have had, at one time, a 5.00 credit and a 10.00 credit at the same time. Guess what, when ensemble built the bill it just used the first credit which was 5.00 and forgot all about the 10.00 credit.
I had to call Account Services and get the amount combined into ONE 15.00 credit.
When your bill is made, it pulls the first dollar amount credit and just uses it.

I have a family plan with 3 total lines. My main line is under contract til 11/09 but the other two are up as of 7/18/08. Do you think retentions will do anything for me if I renew the contracts on lines 2 and 3, or does my primary line have to be out of contract as well. I called last night and the person from retentions could care less if I cancelled or not. I guess some reps don't care.

I had a retention rep offer me vision for around $2 on my line, but after I said I wanted to upgrade to a powervision phone the rep said that would be around $5 for the line.
My question is: Are there different prices for vision and powervision?
My understanding was you get a data plan/internet plan and the speed of the internet depends on your phone. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Vision and PV are different. If you are offered PV for $5 unlimited, I would jump all over that. The speed does depend on your phone. I have a Centro that gets PV speed, my wife has a sanyo base phone that only has vision speed.

So, if you ordered the regular vision for a cheaper price then you upgraded to a powervision phone, would you still receive slow speed vision? I don't see how this would work (can they send a weaker internet signal to you?). I thought the speed would depend solely on the phone. Could someone please provide some clarification of costs and differences if any.

Update:
My phones have both been shipped out, but I still have not seen my $50 per phone credit. I called *2 and got a really nasty rep who first thought I was confusing mail-in rebates with accounts credits, then thought that I was confusing the $200 I got with the other $100. After I calmly explained to him the situation, he said "so like why they give you another hundred dolla?"
He forwarded me over to the TeleSales department, 5 minutes on hold, I tell my story and get forwarded to Sales Support. Again I repeat my spiel and the woman says that the account was not noted as receiving an extra $50x2. Well, the phone call was recorded (the original sales rep repeated everything including the credits) so I told her she can listen to that. She will be sending an information request to someone to verify the $50x2 credits and "someone" will get back to me. I won't be holding my breath.
One thing I am wondering: To be fair, I have not been charged for the phones yet. So I'm thinking maybe I am doing all this prematurely and they will show up next time on my bill.
Any thoughts?

could be but i will a dollar that sprint told you one thing and did another. not in the notes, etc. sprint is up to its old tricks of telling customers one thing just to get them to sign the contract.
even if it does not happen, sounds like you got a nice deal.
the tape is good except you have to be careful regarding eavesdropping laws. they vary state to state and them there are the federal laws.
alot of people overlook these laws and if you are not careful, you can get in some trouble if the other party wants to pursue the issue. just wanted to let you know.

alot of people overlook these laws and if you are not careful, you can get in some trouble if the other party wants to pursue the issue. just wanted to let you know.
I meant that the phone call was recorded on their server. The Telesales rep said "I am now going to record everything we have talked about" and repeated everything including the credits. I didn't record it - I'm not that crazy.
To previous poster - how did you get free data?

Very Nice Plan -- Nice to see Sprint trying to reward longterm customers.
Yes. Been with Sprint for a very long time. Never been late in those 15 years and always keep a credit balance which helps in case I ever miss a payment.
Also, we don't abuse phone upgrades - my wife still has her Samsun N400 which is some 6-7 years old.
I love Sprint :D

Curve for 150 without the mail in rebate. No shipping or upgrade fee.
Doesn't sound like much, but there's not much more they could have offered with my plan.

Update 2:
Got both phones, still have not been charged for them (according to sprint.com) nor have I gotten my credits. I am not calling*2 anymore because I will come out ahead if they don't charge me. and don't credit me. I'm still sending in both rebates of $50 and $100.
I called to activate both phones, that went down without a problem. As I mentioned, I got the Blackberry w/o a data plan, so now I am trying to get one. The *2 reps refuse to give me PV with the BB and would not discount the BB data pack. I just emailed eCare, we'll see what they say. I am a texter and I think it's more convenient to do that on a Pearl than the Touch. Although, I might just switch to the Touch before my 30 days are up if I can get discounted V/PV.
Any tips on getting the net are welcome.

Hope not. I have ask her several time to upgrade and she wont give up that phone for nothing.
Not sure what she likes about that phone, but it's ugly in my opinion.

So I'm at the 2 year mark and want to renew my SERO 500 plan and do a phone upgrade to the treo 800w. I currently have the treo 700p. I see that on their website the treo 800w is $250 after instant savings and MIR. I am eligible for the $150 upgrade credit and never late on payments for the past 2 years.
I just want to milk one or both of the following out of them: pick 3 and n/w starting at 6 or 5 (because I was using n/w starting at 9 p.m. for the last 2 years when spring offered n/w starting @ 7)
What number should I call or should I do this via e-care?
Also the GPS with the 800w...does it require you purchase a special service in order to get live gps tracking or can you just use your powervision and it will tell you where and when to turn according to where you are at?
Thanks!

I have been reader for over two years, thought it will be good opportunity to post renewal plan that I got.
Sero 500 renewal
500 anytime
Unlimited text
Nights @ 7
Unlimited web, email
Nationwide roaming
...
[all other std Sero plan components]
Got HTC Touch for $0.99
After reading other retention offers that folks have received, can it be considered good renewal deal?

Use Google Maps - its free and I have heard it works great. Also, see the official 800w thread (http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=168586&highlight=palm+treo+800w) for all the details.

Unless you need that many lines, the deal's really not that great compared to others. $70 for 1000 minutes and no Pick3 on any line.

For renewing my contract for another two years, I received a $20 recurring credit and what I suppose was a slip-up by Sprint...
I used my $150 off a new phone to get the Samsung M520. My account was charged $100 and I was supposed to receive a $50 mail-in rebate check. So six weeks after mailing in the rebate form, I got a check for $200. So thank you, Sprint, for paying me to take a new phone. :tu:

Consider the base price of the plan... Getting the other perks are all about how lucky you are. But the base rate is very kick-arse. $70 (not including the discount off which drops it to $50something) is a lot less than what I'm paying.

Compared to the plan that they gave me last week, $70 for 1000 minutes is a rip-off. I have the same basic plan except free Pick3 on each line and 1280 minutes for $50. Free roaming, free unlimited text and data, two lines sharing the minutes (every feature identical on each line).

I had F&F 550 for $59.99 (3 lines)
1000 text for $10.00 on all three
Power Vision on first two for $10.00 each
TEP for $7.00 on two lines
add third line for $9.99
15% employee discount
N&w at 7:00, Roaming were already free
To renew I got text and vision free on all three
$100 instant credit
instant $100 credit on Treo 800 instead of mail in rebate
my bill is going WAY down

My contract is up in a couple of weeks and this is the kind of plan I am looking to get. Can you explain how you went about this deal? Did you just get a good rep? Just wanting to know the steps you took and if any of this was grandfathered from a previous plan. Also, did you negotiate a new phone?
Thanks!

About 4 months into my new 2-year contract. 280 bonus minutes were grandfathered in from my old plan (so was Pick3 but anyone can add that to your lines for free), otherwise it's a standard retentions plan. I did just port one of my three lines to AT&T for the iPhone 3G, so maybe that encouraged them to give me a good deal.

What's the best way to go about getting a good deal? I've e-mailed ecare a couple of times and am getting no love from them as they are just quoting me the regular prices and stuff I already know. I've been a sprint customer since '01, and am seriously considering verizon as I can get basically about the same minutes and same texting stuff for a very comparable price because my employee discount with verizon is 5% more than the one with sprint. Do I have
