oh dont get me wrong i am certainly not pointing any fingers or even inferring anyone on this site is in "that" mindset. i am just saying there are alot of people like that out there. whether they have ever posted here or not.

and i do agree that some of us would like to get some extra perks. its always nice to get a better deal than you thought you would or already have gotten.

well i talked to retentions again today and got some one that was willing to add the pick 3 free to my acct without extending my contract. so now i have pick 3 free on both of my lines.

Old Plan:
3 phones:
1st phone: 1000 minutes/NW at 7pm = $40
2nd phone: 1000 minutes/NW at 7pm = $40
3rd phone: 400 minutes/nw at 7pm = $30
Then 25% employee discount.

New Plan:
5 phones
4500 minutes shared + 500 text/line + Power Vision + Sprint-Sprint + NW at 7pm
1st line = M510 for $35 = $120/month
2nd line = M510 for $35 = Free/month
3 free M300s $10/month for lines 3-5 each.
Then received a 25% employee discount and 10% loyalty.
Total paying per month is around $140

Do you know what sort of plan you have? I have 3 lines and I'm thinking about adding 2 more lines and your minutes is the exactly the reange I'm looking for. I have employee discount and I'm cool with it, but I want to be on an actual plan instead of $20 service credit $5 msrp credit etc etc

Let me know thanks!!

Its "AIMF" that they are referring to. And from what I'm reading, its not easy to get that added. Many of the people who had it, have been with Sprint for numerous years and was able to negotiate it into their plan or they had some MAJOR issues with their migration.

I have that feature added to my account and I've with sprint for only 11 months. ;) I told them that I get harassing calls from telemarketers and universities/colleges ( not kidding) and its using up all of my anytime minutes. Next thing you know, they gave it to me.

Well Sprint continues to piss me off.

I am near an 11 year customer with Sprint with a bill before tax always over $100. I've never had an issue with paying on time and of course never had my phone shut off.

What I was getting while in contract that expired in January:
Line 1- 2500 for $99, free M2M, free 500 Text, 20% loyalty discount
Line 2- free, free 500 Text, $7.50 power vision
Line 3- $10
Line 4- $10

My bill before taxes was about $107.50

My contract was up in January and I lost all the credits I was getting so my bill went up to about $150 before taxes.

I called today and asked to cancel. The best offer retentions would give me is the same plan I have and for the same price. No deal on phones at all either. I said no thanks and got off the phone.

I called back later and for the same plan, the best deal this guy could give me was just over $120/ month. That’s almost $15 more than I paid last contract. He said they no longer could give the loyalty discount. I said no thanks and got off the phone.

I called 2 more times and was basically given the same thing for $120/ month again and was told they didn't have the loyalty discount anymore.

I did get a call back from the first rep I talked with though. She asked if it was okay if she called me back tomorrow. I don't know what that was about though. Is she going to have some special plan tomorrow that they didn't have today?

And Sprint wonders why they are going into the toilet. After dealing with Sprint the last few years, I wonder if they make their employees take a polygraph and only hire the people that lie on every question.

I don't get it, you had a pretty amazing plan, why not just stay with it? From what I've heard this is the most minutes for the least money. (And trust me I've been looking for ret family plans).

Honestly, it seems like a pretty amazing deal. If anything you could ask for pick 3 or earlier nights, or some free vision on the other lines. But I really can't see how much better you can get than what you already have. I'd kill for that plan.

I agree. My 2500 min plan costs me $115.99 a month and I have 9pm nights. I got the 6pm nights for free but I would be paying $120.99 for 7pm or $125.99 for 6pm.

By the way, do you have a NVP or company discount? Maybe that's why they're not giving you the loyalty discount.

You might be correct. I won't know anything until this Friday. I'm being migrated so I'm going to see how it all turns out. I might end up dropping this plan down to a lower minute plan if I lose all of my discounts.

I feel you buddy. My contract expired on the 1st. I'm going to call and ask them if they
can find anyway to make my plan even better to get me to renew. I'm not expecting they
can/will though. Sometimes it all depends on the rep you get. But still i'm looking
at the thread about "post your new family plan retention offers".. soo soon as I see one,
I can call in and say "Hey another one of your customers got this a few days ago, and I'd like the same plan" because obviously it's doable if it was just done.

Well apparently now, I can't even stick with it. They want $15/ month more than what I was paying since the loyalty discount is "no longer available with their new system".

Plus I was suckered into the 3rd and 4th line in the first place. First I was told I would get the 3rd line for free only to find out I was getting charged and no one could do anything for me. Then I was told since I was paying for the third line, I could get a 4th line for free. I fell for it again and ended up paying another $10/ month. I had already given these phones to family members and couldn't take them away.

I'm ready to say see ya to Sprint. I'd rather pay a little more to another company than keep giving money to people who blatantly lie to me.

If you have negotiated with the retention department and gotten what you feel is a good deal, I HIGHLY suggest that you get a copy of the details of your plan before committing to a contract.

I felt that I had a fair deal. I asked the rep to email the details and was told that he could not. Now, several months later they are refusing to honor the offer that was extended to me.

I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I have made many, many calls to Sprint to have this rectified. Now I am being told that the person that I spoke to never documented the offer in their system and they could not do anything for me.

I'm really at the end of my rope now and it looks like Sprint is not going to honor their offer. I have a very strong feeling that I will end up in court or be left holding the bag.

Oh, I see now. You've got the same plan that I have. Your loyalty discount makes it $99 versus $115.

I've seen people with loyalty discounts int he new system. Now I've been told that you can't have a loyalty discount with a NVP (company) discount so maybe that's the problem you're running into. Do you have a company discount?

OR.. cancel his main line, if his added lines are 20 months away, and still pay the $10 a month add on line with the phones off and not in use. that would
be cheaper and he woudln't be breaking his contract.

He could always default, and fight it out on his credit report too. I find that if you don't pay your bill for a while... it'll build up.. and they can see you're not going to pay it, so they'll call you and offer you a huge discount.

I found this out because they screwed up my account by $600 and took 3 months to fix it, and I was refusing to pay my monthly until they fixed it. So If I were him, i'd stop paying the bill, and tell them why. ThAT department will
fix it by compensating, and prefering to keep him as a customer as a 1 time adjustment loss is perferable to losing an infinite cash income customer for who knows how long he may live and stay with sprint. :)

They really should fix his add a lines free. They've ALWAYS given me credits to convert my added lines when i asked.

I called retentions today to see if I can get pick 3 added and was shot down the first time because I didn't have a voice plan for it. Five minutes later I called again and this very nice lady named Juanita picked up and I asked for pick 3 added free because my plan was over 40$ and she did it. She asked for my 3 numbers and confirmed it. Never thought it would be that fast to get it.

Current plan:
$49.99 Unlimited BlackBerry E-mail and Web (including PAM)
Mobile-to-Home
Pick 3

100 Bonus Minutes
5 PM Nights/Weekend
20% Loyalty Discount

All-right!! There is hope for me. I've got a 15% NVP and a 15% loyalty. I also have that random 5% discount. It's a PCS courtesy discount that I got back in 2003 for signing a 2 year committment and it's permanent, just like my $5 credit.

I'll keep my fingers crossed. My migration will be done this Friday so we'll see what happens.

Original Question: Exchange phone
Question: Hello. How are you today? I upgraded my phone in December of
2007. I have been with Sprint for close to 3 years now. I ordered the
Centro phone in Black. Since the day I have
received the phone, I have had many problems with the phone. It drops
many calls, it loses service randomly when it has full bars, it roams
randomly, and it echoes a lot. Now during my 30-day trial, I called
Sprint 5 times and spent 4+ hours on the phone trying to get another
phone
sent to me for exchange because I had a defective phone. I was
transferred many times and I was never able to get a new phone sent to
me. I decided I would just live with it but 2 days ago, the phone just
completely died.I mean that it won't turn on, it won't charge, nothing
happens at all when I plug it in. The sprint store said it was fried and
that I would need a new phone. I?ve had enough and would like a new palm
centro to be sent to me and I would like to send this one back. So I
would like to exchange my defective palm centro for a brand new Centro
in Black for free. I really hope you can help me out with this as the
phone
reps were not able to help me at all when I called them. Ecare has
always come through before! Thanks!

I wasn't within 3 days. We've had both the phones for 5-6 months now and they still decided to exchange them for free which they usually do not do. I know friends with Alltel that have to pay for their contract and then pay the price for the phone. Well we didn't even have to pay $100 for the phone which is its price now, we get them for FREE!! I LOVE SPRINT!!!

We have also gotten 6pm N&W and 10% off every one of our SERO lines through eCare. They are the best way to get things done with Sprint by far!

i think i would have pushed more for something like that had i not gotten a great deal on my phones.

my line was eligible for new cust pricing but then i would have to do a mail in rebate. all i paid was 99.99+tax no mail in needed

my wifes line was still a year out from the new cust pricing and i got her centro for new cust pricing without having to do the mail in. 99.99+tax

plus i dont use all the extra crap that comes with PV i.e. tv, radio, etc. i surf the web and check my email. thats it i dont even take pics so picmail is useless for me too

Thanks. She thanked me profusely for my loyalty. She did say to call *2 for an update. I said, a roaming update, she said yes, but also some other "system" updates. I have been unsuccessful in getting this done, so I hope it isnt crucial to anything other than roaming, which I rarely do, but nice to finally have.

Also, it helps to play dumb as much as possible, so they can act like they came up with the idea first. If you represent to them a legitimate concern/need, it's up to them to offer a solution...

I cannot verify the change yet on sprint.com. In all my years with sprint, every change they've said they made was true. When I added UL Incoming, it seemed like it took 6-8 hours to take effect. I hope to see the change by the end of the business day today, and get more info. When I said I called Sprint, I called ES for a discrepancy in 5PM night charge. Maybe that had to do with availability of the plan. The first question I asked her was, "Was I transferred to Executive Services"? She said, "I am an account manager, what can I help you with"?...

As promised, here is the latest info I have. I did call ES/Account Services when Yankee said this plan didnt exist, and they confirmed everything was changed over. Sorry in advance for the poor image quality, but I did it low tech, and didnt want to mess with trying to copy a webpage image. The picture from my phone shows $0-1700 AT, but should be $65, as both reps had confirmed previously. I circled the usage details, because I hadnt changed plans in such a long time I wondered if the ensemble conversion had fixed that. It seems that there is faster access to add-on changes (post ensemble), but unfortunately you still have to wait till the next billing cycle for the usage to be correct :irked: ...

Uhh right. What people are forgetting is you have to provide a need/concern to the retention dept. and it's up to them to provide a solution. You also have to be eligible for the plan or add-on.

Looks legit, congrats Adam! I wish they had offered this plan, but she said she couldn't find it. (I dont think she looked very hard, she said plans tend to be round numbers, like 60 or 80). Are you on P2K? (Your first shot looks ensemble'ish, but the second shot looks nothing like what my plan details looks like.) Maybe that's why she couldn't give it to me.

I ended up going with the $85 2000 minute plan. Hopefully everything works out.:fingers:

I just noticed that second picture is from your phone, and that is what 'my account' details looks like on my phone too.

And you said it was $65? I might try again in June or July when the instinct comes out and I upgrade. 20 bucks for only 300 minutes is definately not a steal. Wish me luck!

Sounds like you're getting 50 bucks in addon savings alone, not including the
12 bucks savings with the NVP. Plus you get a hundred more minutes than the current plan, plus if its an old f&f plan you get the overage buckets (unless its a f&c plan).

Definately a good deal.

Thanks! You just can't get these kinds of deals with other companies. This is the second time I've used the SERO strategy. I tell them my friend works for sprint (he does), but that I've been told I can't switch to SERO. I politely ask if they can give me the perks of SERO on my current shared plan. They did it a year an a half ago and they did it again for me this Saturday.

What are overage buckets? Is it if I go over I pay $5 for 50 more minutes? I do think I have that.

Would it be too much to ask ecare for a few more minutes? We've been with Sprint a combined 10 years.

Just FYI to all of you who said it couldn't be done. CS was going to give me the $99.99 Simply Everything Plan for $85 and that included my monthly discounts from Retentions almost 2yrs ago when I had renewed my contract through them. This doesn't count the Business Discount of 27% since that cannot be used with the SEP.

That's exactly what the buckets are. If you need a few more minutes, you should ask them to swith you to the 1200 mins $60 plan which seems to be going around a lot in ret lately. If your add ons are free and 'included' then you should be able to keep them when you switch plans, just tell the rep not to mess with them when switching base plans.

How do you get your 20%? is it listed as 10% and another 10%? That's how mine was listed before (I used to be one of the lucky ones to get 25%). Since he already has an NVP I dont think he'll be able to get a loyalty discount too. I know alot of folks say they have it, but I think it's different for reps setting them up now.

No, I get the same features now and I'm paying way less w/o being on that plan. I was going to make the jump if my bill was close to the cost of the SEP plans, but since there's a $40 difference between the SEP plan and my plan, I just stuck with what I have

ahhhh so it's not the SE plan, it's a customized plan. That is definately not the same as saying you can get discounts to the SE plan, its saying you can get a plan like SE that gives you all the same features but at a discounted rate. Big difference.

That's a good question that i'm curious about too. I wish i would have posted it a long time ago :)

However for you, you should be able to call in to retentions and simply
ask for it. Say you hear about all these other people getting it, and
you've been with sprint for xyz amount of time, and ask "Do I qualify?"

then while youre on hte phone you can "happen" to ask about the other
thing.

Oh you can switch your plan at any time btw, so you should call retentions
and tell them 800 minutes isn't enough. It's a good idea to review your past bills
to see how many minutes you typically use, then go somewhat higher than that
on choosing how many minutes you need.

Ok, I have an amazing plan right now, that pretty much includes everything the SE plans do ok? What I was doing was calling up to see how much the SE plan would cost compared to what my plan is now. The SE plan is going to be $40 more than what I'm paying now. My plan right now that I have includes everything except the Unlimited Minutes but everything else is the same and I'm paying $40 cheaper than the SE plan.

i'm pretty steamed right now. here's an insert from eCare:

A review of the account reflects that this options is being charged
$10.00 for the Monthly Service Charge. As per our records, we do not
have supporting notes about the offer for free 6 PM option.

The SERO plans include a number of free services and features, and offer
new phones at minimal prices with additional rebates. Therefore, any
additional promotional offer such as invoice credits and other
promotions are not applicable on the accounts with SERO plans. All the
offers available with the SERO plans are listed on the SERO website:
www.sprint.com/SERO

However, as you are already benefiting from the above discounted
options, the 6 PM option cannot be validated on the account. I
appreciate your understanding in this matter.
i just recently rewnewed my agreement for another two years. two years ago before i renewed then, i had asked for N&W @ 6PM for $0. it was then (and the reason being) that i renewed for another two years. that was the trade, so-to-say. now, they're telling me there is no note of it and that because i have all these great benefits/options that come with SERO, there's no such way of getting any additional option(s) added. ***?!

i explained to eCare: "had i known i would have been charged an extra $10 every month, i wouldn't have accepted the option nor would i have accepted a 2-year agreement. it makes no sense that i would ask for a recurring $10 option and give you guys the benefit of locking into paying every month for the next 2 years."

this especially sucks because i just deleted my Sprint folder in my email account (a week ago which had many back-and-forth conversations with eCare.

sigh...

You may be getting caught up in the correction to SERO accounts. That said - SERO's terms and conditions have been "no additional discounts" but a lot of people have always gotten discounts. Now, it appears that they are cleaning up the SERO accounts. How long ago did you renew the contract in "exchage" for free 6PM n&W? If you are within your 30 days, you could void the contract extension since you do not have the free 6pm N&W. You could ask since it was your understanding that your 6pm would be free IF you extended your contract. Since they CANNOT be free, then you do not want to extend the contract. You can choose to pay the $10 or revert back to 7pm and possibly just get out of the contract extension since the feature is no longer free. Good Luck

Be careful with that "call retentions" statement. If they know you're calling up to get free perks, they will automatically request your line be canceled for abusing the contract. This is what several reps have told me. I was only requesting to talk to "Account Services" because thats who originally dealed with my plan in the first place but they said unless you're calling to cancel your service, they will automatically do it for you if you're calling for any other reasons.

I know this could be a breach of contract on their half but I'm sure they'll have some legal term(s) to use against us to protect themselves.

the "exchange" was two years ago. for some time earlier in that 2-year period, i used to go over my 500 text message pack and would be charged for it. after that time, my bill was still in the $60+ range and i never really realized why. i sometimes thought i sent over my 500 texts even when i never really reached 500, and that the rest were from taxes.

i didn't find out i was being charged for it all along till i recently emailed eCare concerning my plan/options. some phone representatives insisted i didn't have a SERO plan or that the web wasn't included and that if they set my new phone (upgrade) up with the web, i'd be charged, or that i need a SERO plan that had the power vision for my new power vision phone (upgrade). i told them the web was supposed to be bundled in the plan and that i was sure Retentions knew what they were doing when they offered it to me. plus, the phone i upgraded from was the a920 (a power vision phone!).

after my plan had been set two years ago, i made sure to never call Sprint again just so my plan/options would never be touched. the last 5 reps i dealt with screwed around with my plan/options when i requested they didn't. i'm just so annoyed now. and because of the recent phone-upgrade, i was automatically renewed for another two years to deal with the wonderful customer care. yes, i know that's standard procedure. i've been through so much crap with them.

Having been a sprint customer for over 7 years, I'm at the point where I'm trying to milk retentions out of a better deal.....

Given my 1500 anytime plan which I secured over 2 years ago(apparently it isn't offered anymore), I'd honestly be happy with 'free txt and internet' similar to the second sero line I have. What kind of 'long-term' deals have people been getting lately, to be honest, I could just switch this line over to SERO as well if I really wanted, but part of me says that we'd get better deals as part of retention for more than 5 years. With Sprint's new focus on retaining people, I would think this is even more true right now.

What kind of deals have you been getting if you're a long time subscriber??

Current plan 1500 AT(49.99), n/w @ 6(this is set to expire soon), unlimited texting 10 bucks a month, basic internet 15 a month.....(- 10 percent loyalty discount)

Actually it is possible, however rare, to get the SE plan for 'less' than what every other schmoe pays. My friend gets it for 79.99 a month, which he got through retentions before the unlimited plan even existed. Rumor had it that they were 'testing' that plan with retention, the only thing I can't figure out is if he has a 20 percent loyalty discount to get him down to that 79.99 price. Not exactly sure... but it is possible.... --snowy

You know what...that sounds like something I went through earlier this week. I called to port a number in and the rep looked at my account and said, "you have too many discounts." I told him that the discounts are expiring in July and they are tied into my contract. He then told me, "I can't allow you to have so many discounts." I repreated that they'll expire soon. He then said, "I'll give you 7pm nights for free and powervision on both of your lines for free. I have to take away your 15% loyalty, your half priced add a phone, your free 6pm nights, and free unlimited texts. I'll give you 500 on all of your lines for free. You'll also need to resign a 2 year agreement" I told him to leave the plan alone and just port the number. He said that his offer was take it or leave it right then and there. I said to let me think about it. He then said, "I'll call you tomorrow and you tell me what you want me to do." I hung up and went straight to my Sprint account and started taking screen shots of my plan. Lo and behold, all my perks were wiped out and my contract end date was changed.

I was furious and called back Sprint. Now everyone started acting stupid. I didn't argue. I told them that I was writing the Executive Offices and Dan. I sent a 4 page email that night and also called the hotline the next morning. When it was all said and done, I got my PV discounts back, now my free 6pm is included in my plan and all of my lines now have UL texts included. They were going to expire and now they won't. My contract end date was also reset and I was told the employee will be disciplined. I guess he was because he didn't call me back the next day. I can't tell you how pissed I was. This rep was so arrogant. I was happy with the outcome though. I would rather have had all the stuff included in my plan than the discounts so that is better in my eyes.

Point of the story, if you have a problem with people messing with your account, go to Executive Services or Dan@sprint.com. I got a call back the next day asking, "What can we do to satisfy you as a customer." I told them what I felt was reasonable and they agreed and we settled. I couldn't believe how arrogant this rep was and I told them that. He was talking about how Sprint isn't giveing the store away anymore and they're under new management who has no problem letting people go. He talked about firings at Sprint and how Sprint isn't going to let themselves get bullied. He also mentioned that Sprint monitors sites such as this one and Howard Forums, Fat Wallet, and Slick Deals, etc. and are getting people that brag about having crazy plans. I told him that I felt it was inappropriate that he was discussing this with me and I told ES this and they agreed. You don't treat customers like scammers and you don't talk down to people.

Hopefully you get your plan fixed. If now, just send an email or make a phone call.

I still can't believe that the employee acted that way but I'm glad Sprint worked with me on a new plan. I told the guy from ES that I'm not looking to rip Sprint off or get some great deal. I just wanted something fair for both of us. They're still going to get over $160 a month from me so I think everything worked out ok for all of us. 3 of my lines don't even use texts at all so that won't cost Sprint anything and with the nights starting at 6pm, I do'nt even think we'll ever hit 1500 mins or more. It's not worth it to drop to a lower minute plan because I don't want to run into a situation where I'll need the minutes and I end up paying $300 in overages to save $30 a month. I've had that happen before, I drop my minutes to a lower plan and then I go over and have to pay several hundred dollars, and that negates my savings.

All in all, Sprint did right by me. I did lose $30 a month in savings but I think what we've worked out was fair for all of us and Sprint thought so too or they wouldn't have given it to me.

So, after a few days of e-mailing ECare because of my jacked (seriously. jacked.) centro, I was offered a free Pearl, or an early upgrade discount for the Curve. They (Sprint ecare1) said that they would forward my request for the Curve to their higherups to see what they could do. However, this has been an ongoing battle with the past Centros that I have had. I've had three, and each one has had horrible battery life (if I use the phone normally, the battery is dead after 8 hours), it randomly cuts on and off (maybe the cause for the dead battery?), I drop calls, and sometimes they don't even ring.

I'm on the Sero 500 minute plan with roadside & TEP. I also have Sprint TV Premier. I'm paying all of this for the regular price, as I think it's a great plan coming from my $130 iPhone payment. I've only been a Sprint customer for 5-6 months.

I just simply needed a new phone with a good reputation, and I suggested the Pearl or the Curve. I really don't like the Pearl after holding it, and I assume the price is dropping since they offered it as a free replacement. I don't think that I could survive without a QWERTY keyboard... so I'll probably go with the Curve. Has anyone had luck in getting the Mail In Rebate taken off in stores or through Telesales?

UPDATE:

I called again today and ended up with 2000 minutes on free and clear, instead of the 2500. $85 for the plan, free second line, $10 third line, and $7.99 forth line. The 500 text on 2 lines and powervision on the 1 line are free as well as M2M and Roaming. The rep wasn't willing to even discuss any deals on phones.

So my bill will be $4 less per month ($103) and I lost 500 minutes. Without those minutes, I'm sure I'll go over and Sprint will bend me over @40 cents per minute. Can ECare add on minutes or the loyalty discount?

This retentions rep said there are no longer loyalty discounts as well. I still can't believe I signed onto Sprint for another two years. *** am I thinking?

ISSUES? That's not what I want to hear! What kind of issues?

I just checked my account and nothing it updated. I thought it was supposed to start on my next billing cycle which is later in May.

Seems like, if you have it now, you'll only have it until your contract is up. I believe this is a recent thing that has been done though. My girlfriend got a 10% loyalty discount about 2 months ago I believe and she has a low $$$ plan and has not been with Sprint very long. She got the discount through ECare though.

Assuming you switched, to have similar features, you would be spending $150/month for a 2100 min plan with Verizon and $160/month for an ATT plan (4 Line family plan).

The VZN plan does have text messaging and pictures I believe (too lazy to dial it up again) the ATT plan does not.

So, you are saving a substantial amount of money vs. switching.

From what it seems, the fire sale retention days are over.

has anyone ever gotten unlimted (or limited) call forwarding in a retention deal? I love Sprint and have been a custom for over a dozen years but I don't get any reception in my house. All winter I had to take calls in my garage. If I could just call forward some calls to my home phone it would make a huge difference in my customer satisfaction.

Yeah, It would have been more, but like I said before, I was lied to and ended up with more lines than I really needed. The same thing with the add ons. Text and internet are not a big deal to me, giving them back though wouldn't have allowed me to get a better deal.

Since I switched to my Motorola ic902 my latest updated plan details are:

1000 Anytime Minutes (500F&F, 400 free, 100 free), free unlimited SMS, free unlimited powervision basic/picturemail, unlimited 7PM Night and Weekends, free PCS2Home, free Sprint2Home, free unlimited Incoming Calls, free unlimited Mobile-To-Mobile, free unlimited Nationwide DirectConnect and $15.00 loyalty credit. $22.50 (w/ tax)

The only thing they couldn't get were the 5PM Nights/Weekends back due to the code being taken out of the system. But they allowed the 7PM and gave me free Mobile-To-Mobile (along with DC). And they are working on putting back on the PhoneAsModem add-on (which Tech Support has to do).

Hey guys,

My contract on my main line is ending in a week. OMG! I don't think in the 8 years I have been with Sprint, I have ever allowed my agreement to actually end wihtout making a change to have it renewed.
Anyway, I think everyone griping about discounts on A sero LINE REALLY SHOULD HAVE THOUGHT LIKE ME. add a 2nd line INSETAD OF BEING SO CHEAP! My main line is where all the goodies are. I only have 6PM on my sero line and that's not much of a stretch from 7PM, which is included in SERO!

Now I want this free Unlimited Incoming thing, which I asked about before, and was shot down, saying that it did not exist thru e-care. If I renew, I gotta have that, since I already have everything, else, And if I get it, the only thing I'll be missing, is unlimited outgoing for considerable less than SE.

Retention is not the way to go anymore. U can't call and bully them anymore. They have a new attitude these days. I called str8 to them to try and figure my mess out after the Ensemble switch and the man pissed me off and asked me if I called to cancel. I told him no and why I was calling. And tried to question me about all of my discounts and I chewed him out. He started asking questions about my employment (ASKING ME WHERE i WORKED) and all the other discounts, and I told him that was not why I was calling and to stick to the point as to why the customer is calling... MHOB! (Don't question or start getting into thing that have nthing to do with the call or the customer has not asked) I didn't have to give up any of that information and I didn't! So I was walking to work that day and I had to hang up before I blew a gasket in the street, because this FOREIGN man from some slow place thought he knew what he was doing and talking about, and I reminded him that I too was in the CS field and I know the job better than him. Warned him, and pressed the END BUTTON ON MY PHONE! My plan options remained the same when I got home to check.

I experienced the same thing when I called retentions a month or two ago. My contract expires in June and he kept on interrupting me, "Do you want to cancel or not?" I was just hoping that his department could resolve some issues since regular CS couldn't help. However, I'll admit that most of my experiences with Sprint have been pretty good. So my complaints will stop there. It's always a crap shoot regarding what kind of rep you'll get... "foreign" or "domestic."

I've been with Sprint since '99 and will renew again.

I called up and explailed I had PAM but no vision and the rep gave me something called "Sprint Unlimited Power Vision pack" and was told it is PAM and PV. Can anyone confirm this? I spoke with 3 different tech reps and one ES rep and when they looked at the description it says Unlimited Data, and Phone as Modem. Can anyone confirm this? Will phone as modem work if I dont have a service plan? Also I used it today and no usage showed up online. Thanks..

If U have power vision, at least in my case pam did work (the techs said they could see it on the acct).. However it did not show on the addons screen but it worked.. the catch there is that it billed 3 cents a kb for data when the pam option was used and it did not show an "overage in the usage screen"... Data on the phone and not as pam was included and not charged extra.. so I would "TEST" gingerly to verify the situation.. In my case I had a Q9C ran a speed test and hit a couple of web sites within a 10 min period and had an $80 extra charge on my bill. I have a 150 spending limit by choice and anything that is going to bill on the acct will affect the spending limit remaining number even if it does not show up on the usage screen. Retentions also told me that there is an entry they can see for un-billed charges on the acct. I find that I have to reverify several times what reps and retentions tells me.

Good luck.

I used to have Phone as Modem addon under the account, but I called Tech Support and asked if I could get PV also. So he took the Phone as Modem code off and added Sprint Unlimited Power Vision Pack, which he said includes Phone as Modem. Now I called back atleast 3 times and had the tech reps look at the description and all of them said it includes Phone as Modem. I then spoke with ES and they also said the same thing. It does sign on with no problem. It appears on my addons as Sprint Unltd Power Vision Pack.

...just wanted to post my retentions story -
I'm upgrading my Treo 700p & A900 to a Mogul and Centro, and my contract expires at the beginning of June. I called today to see what kind of upgrade deal I could work, and basically was told the only discount I could get on the phones was pay the new customer price.
:indiff:
Well, considering I'm not looking to upgrade my plan all that much, I calmly and politely explained I was a customer for 7 years, and really wondered why I'd have to pay the same price on the phone any new customer would.
The rep wouldn't budge, so I politely stated that I'd review the offer and call back.
...so I think I'll call back once my contract is up in a few weeks and see if I can get any better discount off the phones. Maybe if I'm out of contract, I'll be in a better bargaining position. I just remember when I upgraded to my 700p a few years back, I got a really good package deal on the hardware. The Mogul and Centro aren't even brand new phones now, and once Palm/Sprint release the 800w, these phones will be less-in-demand. I'm wondering if there are any strategies I can use once I call back - or should I go to E-Care?

Been with Nextel for five years. Have a F&F 1500 plan for two lines and an alternate line. Have a 10% employer discount. Completely OOC. Billed out about $140+ a month. I am looking to add some lines and cut costs.

Did some research, found out about SERO (don't want to loose numbers), found out about this site. Lurked here for the last couple weeks. Seen where people have gotten some love from Sprint.

Sent eCare a message that got no reply.

Called Retentions and asked about what I wanted and what would be available as a good 5 year customer.

The answer: Published Pricing, less my existing discount.

The conversation was with a nice young lady that was very pleasant. Was told that about a month ago they lost their power to offer anything.

I live in a MetroPCS market, so I can get it all (slower web though and not very fancy phones (but I am used to Nextel phones)) cheap. I would have to have $1200 a year in roaming charges to make up the difference with Sprint.

So that was it, Sprint basically told me thanks for the money - have a nice life customer.

Try retentions again and mention that MetroPCS is offering the same services for a lower price. Say you are very happy with Sprint's service and coverage but are considering a move to MetroPCS because of the lower price. Then mention that you are hoping that Sprint might have some unpublished plans for which you are eligible that might meet or beat the MetroPCS price. Don't mention the $1200 roaming charges, slower web or plain phones with Metro PCS.
I would recommend trying this two or three times before giving up.

Here's my latest plan in my signature. I also got $800 credit plus 3 new phones with free activation. This is for a two year term. I couldn't get another 25% off and free pick-5, but I guess with the plans below, it isn't too bad for another 2 years with Sprint.

Here my experience with Sprint retention. Being a customer for past 4 years with 2 lines shared with 750 minutes, Unlimited N&W starting at 7pm,Sprint to Sprint free, First Incoming call free, 5% discount. 2 Old Style Flip Phones.
Total I was paying for this was just over 50$ + taxes

Called regular number *2 spoke nicely with a lady but she wasn't in a position to offer much. Just asked her nicely if you could transfer me to retention and see if they could offer a better deal.

She transferred me I spoke to a guy named Alex told him the nice story of having problems with wife signal and me with old phone. With the usual request and mild treat to leave I got the following addition to my phone

100 SMS free for both phone
Free Roaming
Primary Phone switched to Moto Q9c (final cost $200 after rebates)
Free Data Plan
Sprint Tv (Although still got to figure out this one usefulness)

same price 50$ + taxes. Wife hasn't upgraded her phone yet as she is waiting for the new rival to the iphone coming June/July but the retention guy put in a note saying that she should be able to add the same data plan to her account as well.

I was happy with the deal (and the phone is great) but my wife sweetened the deal when she found an online link that she is eligible for 25% Corporate discount. So she emailed Customer Care (from her company email) with the request and got it added without any issues

summarizing
2 lines shared with 750 minutes,
Unlimited N&W starting at 7pm,
Sprint to Sprint free,
First Incoming call free,
100 SMS free each phone
Free Roaming
Primary Phone switched to Moto Q9c (final cost $200 after rebates)
Free Data Plan
Sprint Tv
25% discount

Sprint has being notorious with promising things over the phone and getting something else on the bill....I will update my signature when I get the bill and confirm it

$800 credit, are you mad?

Well, Sprint offered this as part of my 2-year agreement (along with the plan adjustment) and the 3-free brand new phones, so I am like ... hmmm ... oh okay! 2-years in the slammer then with Sprint!

Around 9 years. I been with Sprint since early 1999. A few of my lines got free vision, while others, I need to pay $5/mo for ... boo hoo ... $5/mo per line, but I guess that's better than paying $15/mo/line just for unlimited SMS!!!

New retention deal:

(not mine but I got it for my cuz so i'm taking credit)

$40
700 minutes(including bonus mins)
1000 free text
free vision

It's not the best, or even close to mine for that matter, lol, but I did save her 50 bucks off her old plan! I'm such an awesome cousin....

I will give it a shot soon. Kinda busy 8-5 next few days. Thanks for the advise.

It was still bizare how it was so take-it-or-leave-it with them though.

Apparently Sprint is now locking down a lot of the codes in the system so that these retention deals can be given out, there beginning to become like any other company where the retention reps have a few save options but most of the big one's are locked down so that higher management will have to go in and approve the features before they can be added to the account.

I really like the plan I have now, with almost all the goodies included or discounted. Now I'm coming to the end of my contract and according to some of these posts, I could be losing some of these bonus's. How do I negotiate to retain all that I have and get a decent price on new phones(additional on top of the $150 discount)? I have both NVP and loyalty discount, which I want to keep, and other discounts(PV, free texts, free 5pm, Pick 3, etc, along with a $10 credit monthly that I got somewhere) I really don't want to change the plan at all. Do I just call and say " I want to renew, don't change a darn thing" and oh, yea toss me some cheap phones? I don't want to get tossed to retentions with a fake, cancel me now, that could be dangerous these days.

I'm sorry but I have to say all of this is BS. So many of you call in so many times or have already called so many times and you pay next to nothing every month because you have everything for free. I only get an employee discount...no free perks or other discounts. And I dont call retentions asking them on top of all that to give me more than 150 bucks off of a phone. Give me a break. Sprint has already given you a ridiculous amount of free stuff and you still want more? I wish they would take away all of your free perks when you renew. You have all these perks and you still have the nerve to want an even more discounted phone...geesh youre greedy...the least you could do is purchase a phone from them for full price for all the ridiculous discounts theyve already given you. But I forgot...150 off is just not enough. Give me a break. What do you want next...you wanna be CEO...just call Retentions, I'm sure they could work that out for you.

A little bitter there, rat08? Especially for your first post.

It's not that we are trying to get everything for free. It's the fact that we are staying with Sprint and even with discounts, Sprint is getting our money instead of another carrier. If a discount can help someone stick around, then I see nothing wrong with it.

Sorry to hear your employee discount isn't enough, but some of us are paying more than $100 a month to Sprint. That's money in their pocket, regardless of any free features or discounts we get.

I'm ready to negotiate two of my three phone that just left contact. All I'm wanting to do is get my bill back down to where it was a few months ago. It's inched up from $106 to $154 without a single change to any of my plan or it's features.

$180 for 4 lines with an employee discount seems pretty high, unless you have maxed out features on all 4 of your lines.

Just called CS via the *2 on my phone. Got transferred to Billing to discount my missing discounts and credits.

Talked with a very nice woman who seemed like she knew some details, but was sketchy on others. She confirmed what others have out here that you can't have more than one percentage discount.

She also helped me find out that only one of my phones was out of contract. It seems that last October, when my fiance's phone got 500 free SMS (it used to have 50 SMS msgs per month included, but a billing error removed it and they couldn't find out why it was done - thus the 500 free each month), they forced a 12 month contract on the phone. I was not aware of that, either on paper, over the phone or electronically. She apologized for that (even though I told her it wasn't her fault).

I told her that I was frustrated that without changing anything, my bill has gone up over $50 per month and with no notice on anything, including that my missing discounts and credits were being removed (is it a crime to want to know those things?).

After discussing how I was already getting half off my Vision and txt on two of my phones (which I then called her out on the fact that is part of multiple phone deals that are offered to everyone on a family plan), she started going through the list of codes that she could apply to my phone.

The end result: I am now getting my Power Vision and 1,000 SMS msgs for free, which will save me $25 a month ($15 for PV and $10 for 1,000 SMS). That made me pretty happy. And when I decide what to do with the one phone that is out of contract now, we'll see what options are available to me at that time.

For now, I'm closer to a more affordable bill.
