Hey all, I have a mm5600 and I am wondering if anybody knows of a free app that i can use to shrink or compress mp3 files to a smaller size. I know it is possible, I just dont know the process. please help. thanks :cool:

Yeah, I'd like to know that one too! If your trying to fit more than 4 or 5 songs on the 16mb card that came with the phone, then there's your trouble. Buy a gig.

Try re-encoding the mp3 at a much smaller bitrate. Going from like 256kbit/s to 96kbit/s shrinks the file to like 1/3 of it's original size, and the sound quality degradation is not that noticible on the phone...
...other than that, buy a gig. ;)

dbPoweramp is what i use to change the bitrate of my mp3's, it can also be used to help in making ringtones, i use it to convert mp3 to .m4a

DBpoweramp is so unreliable..it converts MP3s when it wants to..i dont get it
