I just went on the sprint pcs web site and under the shopping section the Sanyo 5600 is missing from the list of available phones....*** :bang:
That seems to happen from time to time. Phones vanish and then reappear.

I called Sprint on Sunday to get my broken 1 month old 7400 replaced. The rep said they don't have any 5600s or 7400s in their warehouse. Of course, at that time the 7400s were off of the site and the 5600s were on the site...
On a side note, when I called the sprint reps for the 7th time they mysteriously found a new in the box 7400 to send me, after 5 days of telling me they didn't have any. I hope it's not a runaround. The guy gave me a tracking number.
Good luck.

Sprint rep at Sprint store here was selling one when I was there a couple hours ago.

So, what would I get, if my MM5600 was to go down south? I have RL, and no other MM phone has RL with the MP3 feature. This would be a fun conversation with a SPCS rep. :indiff:

As of right now...nothing but soon MM-9000 so I guess you will have to wait or get a 535 or A800.

I noticed it was gone too. But if you go to the Sanyo web-site and click on the 5600 link, they have a link that will take you to it on the Sprint website and its in stock. Go figure.

It's an ok phone. I much preffered the 7400. I think the screen and the resolution are better and I like the look of it plus the rubber grips but the 8300 has all the same features in a smaller package.

I have been told that 5600 is gone forever along with many other phones in my market. The 3 different represenitives that i talked to said that they were going to less of a line up but adding more colors. I was pissed and made sure everyone of them knew it. Sprint has always been attractive because of their phones. now they are just a cdma cingular. Punks!

The rep that you talked to didn't know anything. The Sprint line-up will get better especially with the offering of EV-DO phones. Samsung has a good line-up, search the forums for A840, A820, A940 and A920, there might be another one, not sure but search around. Toulumne has some nice threads with pictures and specs. Not much is known about Sanyo, there are a couple of threads but no good pictures. We have the 9000 which will be replacing the 5600, the 4930 (upgrade to the 4920, nothing major adds rubber grips aimed at Nextel subscribers) 7500 (upgrade to the 7400, not much known about this but improved over the 7400) there is also word on a Sanyo Smart Phone with Series 60 OS, not sure on what form factor. Toulumne also mentioned a 5700 which he referred to as "Big Mama."

Man thank you for this info. i was so pissed! this is a sigh of relief my wife got the 5600 and loves it with a passion to be understood by few. i think it is a great phone i couldnt understand why they would get rid of it!

I think that although it is a great phone, people were dissapointed especially since the phone was delayed people were expecting more. You have to agree that the 5600 didn't do as well as the 5500. All of the phones in the 5000 model series have done extremely well and got rave reviews however the 5600 fell short compared to the others. Yes the 5600 had more bells and whistles than any previous Sanyo but in some aspects it fell short on expectations. Terrible low-light picture quality, lack of a night mode, inferior hinge design, lack of a full-duplex speakerphone, low internal memory and bad media managing options are the ones on my list and probably the list of others. Most people probably complained and the phone was pulled from the manufacturing line. But in all the phone is a good phone and the best I have owned to date. Most of the issues I am addressing were fixed in the 9000 model so I guess voicing your opinion does help.

yeah i can agree with those complaints. We both had 5500's and i moved to the treo and she moved to this phone. the 5500 is by far the best non smart phone i have ever owned. but my wife really like the 5600. I have to agree though the low light pictures are BAD!! Will they be insurance replacing with the 9000 you think? i am just wondering because she works with children and her phones are always getting broken. that would be a plus to the 50 bucks i have to spend yearly to replace her phones.

Yes I believe so because the there is nothing out there right now that can compare to the 5600. Since the 9000 will have all the features including the ReadyLink which there is no other phone to have RL, MP3 player and MP camera.

Yeah, I lost my 5600 and lockline decided to send me an 8300. When I opened the box I was like ***! I called and told them that the 8300 is no way in hell a comparable replacement. The rep said oh, why do you think that. After I had explained the differences to her, she tried to find a 5600, but said they had none and wouldn't get any. They eventually sent an LG 535.

I personally wouldn`t consider an 8300 comparable, and certainly not a first choice for a replacement for a 5600

I wouldn't accept anything under a 535 or an A800. Since I am loosing on RL I would fight for the A800. A Treo 650 however would be nice. I can dream.

Yeah right, by then vzw will be rolling out rev. a, and sprint will still have no info or release date of ev-do handsets.

I wish they would try that BS with me. :irked: If I was to replace my phone MM5600, the A800 would be my next phone. I hate sliders, but the 2.0 mp camera would make me get a change of heart. :p

I was never much on sliders myself but after having the 800 for about 4 weeks now I have grown quite attached to it. Its alot more comfotable than my 5600 was and alot less noise. And yes the camars does help. :headbang2

I myself wasn`t interested in sliders, but after trying the 535 I find that the change from flip phones is somewhat refreshing.

Tried that , but followed the link and when I tried to put it in basket , it was noted that the 5600 was not available.
