I just downloaded a ringtone I love but the sound is too soft even when my ringer is turned up all the way. It is barely audible through my purse. Is there anyway to get them to be louder?

You have to do the convertion yourself starting from the wav format. You have to amplify the wav before starting the convertion. If you downloaded the ringtone, you have to convert the ringtone back to wav and use a good program to normalize it. MS Sound Recorder does the trick of amplifying the sound but it also adds distortion. I use Soundforge or WAVnormalizerGUI. Once the normalization is done then convert it back to the ringtone. Amplifying an existing ringtone will only degrade the sound even more. If you can find the original sound file in an uncompressed wav format, that would be the best. Even if it's an 192K mp3, it would still sound good at the end.
