I am using the latest version of Bitpim. I can get data from the sanyo VI2300 mainly ringers is what I am trying to do, but I can not send new rings to the phone. I get a dialog box that states set phone to PC sync mode, when I set the phone it tells me there are no downloads, then I get a log that states there an exception error : SanyoCommandException: Sanyo Packet Error 0x65
what do I have to do to fix this issue?

Ok, you remember that BitPim can only transfer .midi ringers to your phone using a data cable, you can transfer .qcp audio files using the "focus" tool on this web site. I have VI 2300, don't worry about putting it in PC sync. I never do, and it works. Also don't bother with the detect phone deal.
Hope this helps, happy transferring

I wasn't able to even get the phone book using bitpim from my gf's VI2300. I didn't even see the phone listed in the menu. I have the latest version of Bitpim, 0.7.35. What is going on?

um....what's a gf's???
Ok, see if this helps (it worked for me, and other VI 2300 users as I just heard this morning) First make sure you have your Sanyo phone drivers installed on your computer.
On the instructions it says to hook up cable without the phone, don't bother, at least with XP my hardware wizard could care less what I do with that data cable. I did have the Sanyo drivers installed, and when I put the phone on the end of it, it says "ah ha! Sanyo USB phone". It will show up under modems, not ports. It seems to want to go to Com 3, which I won't let it, I change it to Com 4. My computer modem is on Com 3. Go into BitPim and make sure it says the same number of Com port. For type of phone, lie to it, tell BitPim you have a SCP7300. When you do the detect phone route, BitPim will lie to you and tell you no phone detected. Here is the biggie IT doesn't MATTER! Just go ahead and tell it to get Data! It should. So, suggestions for instructions, at least for VI 2300, don't attach cable without phone, tell BitPim you have a SCP 7300, and then make sure your settings are for the same Com Port, and don't worry about the USB cable not showing up in hardware manager, it won't, not as serial, USB or anything. Then don't worry about the detect phone.
Hope this helps, it will work! And it is a nice program.

you can transfer .qcp audio files using the "focus" tool on this web site.
Went there, tried that... uploaded a short qcp file, the told Focus to send it to my phone... it sent me a short text message with a URL in it.... when I try to "go" to the URL from my phone, it thinks for a while and says "REquested page cannot be displayed"...
Am I missing something obvious...?
Second option might be to use the data cable, but that route can only transfer midi's?
If it's a software limitation, can another application be used?
(What's actually needed to transfer files, imaages, rings, etc?)

Yes, I think some of the more expensive data cables might come with different software. Can't recall the names right now. But I paid under $3 for my data cable off eBay. With the data cable & bitpim, I can transfer .jpg and .png files
I do use the focus on this site to transfer my ringtones. I am not sure why it says not found on your link....maybe high traffic and need to try again?? :fingers:
