too rich for my blood, im plenty happy with my 250gb modded xbox. I dont really see much you can do to improve the original.

I noticed something about different Xbox Live options (Xbox Silver or Xbox Gold). I wonder what these are all about? Probably another way for Microsoft to make money out of us!

could we please stop with the pre-order bundles? prices are assumed the games are going to be 59.99 each which i think it to high. also games listed might not be released at launch. what happened to the simple pre-order of just the unit itself? all these greedy retailers want to bundle stuff we dont want and raise the prices. I'm not getting a 360 but if the 360 follows the PSP launch, i fear this is going to be the norm.

xbox packages are one thing, bundles are another.

i still love my NES Action set :)

I`m going to wait till the holidays to get just the console for $399. They must be kidding me $700. Just imagine the prices of the PS3 if it also is gonna come in a bundlle.

If you're going to get one, get the $399 Premium console (without all the games). I preordered one for my son already along with Quake 4 and Burnout Revenge...

I knew I was saving that 7$72 dollar credit at Eb games for a reason!! Im gonna pre-order the 360, Perfect Dark, the Godfather(saw the preview in the theater the other day looks sick), and Hi-Def cables (if you can pre-order cables).

From what i understand xbox live silver and gold difference is this...

Live Silver is free
Live Gold costs money but offers like downloads and such things for games to get new levels, new skins, etc. Live silver is supposed to pretty much be just like the normal live we have now where you play games and talk to people. either way with the purchase of the system you'll get live gold free for 30 days to try it out...that way they can get people to try and and like it and subscribe. One day when i buy the xbox 360, i'll stick with live silver. I am NOT planning on buying it for $399 however, i'll wait till the prices drop like next summer, or even next winter.

Like i said, the original xbox, modded, is a great invention and im happy to stick with that until xbox 360 turns into something AMAZING. And until hackers learn to mod the crap out of it to save me money and get free games :D

I think I may also be waiting on the 360, but not by choice. I have called every Eb Games within 75 miles from my house and all pre-orders for the first shippment are full. When i called EB games telesales they said i would have it the first day if i ordered through them but the catch is I would have to buy a bundle. The bindles are worthless to me. All i would want is the core system with Perfect Dark.

If you order the more expensive bundle which is 100 dollars more than the base model the stuff included is worth 150 dollars so its worth it. And if you plan to have your xbox backwards compatible then your going to need to buy the bundle...because you need the hard drive to play. Also included in the bundle are wireless controllers...in the base model they are wired...also included is a wireless headset, the dvd controller to play movies, and i think you get the high definition cables to. Well worth it in my opinion. wow that took a long time to typd on my phone

I put in a pre-order for the Xbox 360 "core" pack which actually isnt a bad deal. Comes with everything Eric89 said. Its garunteed anytime after Nov 2 but before Christmas. Im hoping its more toward the begining of November. Perfect Dark looks so good!

If these games were included i would have peurchased a bundle in a heartbeat. I didn't feel like wasting an extra 200 dollars on games I wouldnt play.

My Xbox 360 wishlist:
1) The Godfather
2) Larger Hard Drive
3) Tiger Woods 06
4) Madden 06

If you have not pre-ordered it, why not get it from walmart? They are open 24/7 so when the 360 drops you can just get it from them. Thats what my plan is, I am tired of waiting midnight for EB to reopen and wait in a line. Done it twice for halo 2 and the PSP so I am done.

I would never wait in a long line for a gaming thing, I`ll just get it a few weeks after because the lines won`t be that big, but I admire you for waiting in a long line at midnight!

I asked my local wal-mart (open 24 hours) how mny 360's they were getting The clerk said he didnt know and they wouldn't be in until the morning around 8am anyway. I really dont care about waiting in lines anyway. In the end it will all be worth it!

Gaming stores are starting to get ruthless with teir Xbox 360 bundles:

$1999.69 . What the hell is smeone going to do with all of those games.

holy jeez! $2000....good god man, whoever buys that is stupid anyway, cuz its such a wide array of games, some of those will definetely go to waste. Not everyone is into RPG's, or sports games, etc. Most crowds are into one type or another, they don't play all kinds of games. Personally, a great bundle for me would be like a sports pack, cuz i love sports games. I would like to see Madden 06, NBA 2k6, MLB 2k6, and NHL 2k6 all in one bundle.

Although i said it once, and i'll say it again, ide rather wait till the price drops dramatically, and i'll go ahead and stick with the regular modded xbox till that happens..and till they learn to mod the new box.

Just picked up the official "Xbox 360 Launch guide" from my local news stand. I suggest all who are interested in the 360 pick it up. Good stuff. If my scanner worked I would make it into a pdf.

The magazine is $9.99 and I believe worth it. There are high quality pictures throughout. In depth game reviews for some of the games containing great screenshots. Release dates and potential release dates for upcoming games. I like the section on the revamped Xbox Live. if you have an HDTV you are going to be very lucky. The changes on Live will be great. We the users will have more control over our Live experience. Avatars, themes for the mainpage and profiles are just a few great aditions covered in the magazine.
