Anyone know any sites that will send free ringtones to the Sanyo MM-8300? I used to use www.smashthetones.com for my 8200 and it worked great but now that I upgraded I am stuck finding a source for good ring tones. I am also interested in making my own ringtones and transferring them onto my phone via data cable. Anyone got this down yet? What program are you using to transfer the MP3's and what are you transferring them into?

register an account with mbuzzy.com....
i'm not sure if they're still free or not but the site was awesome when i used it.
as for mp3s, the phone is AAC compatible, i dont think mp3s will work, as they didn't on my previous phone (mm-7400)
Since i have Nero, it comes with an AAC encoder, which makes making them a snap when usin the Nero Wave Editor.
some have said iTunes has its own AAC encoder.
You'll want to make your own ringtones with the length of around 25 seconds, and size around 115KB per song for it to sound really good. and use the Focus tool here at SU to send it to your phone.
You can also use the Focus tool to send any ringtones you may have found on the web to your phone for free as well.

I looked at that focus tool and it does not support the MM-8300 yet. Do you encode your MP3's to acc files or just look for pre encoded files? I have nero, but do I need to looke for the wave editor?

wave editor should be included.
I dont see why it wouldn't support the 8300. you should send an image to the phone and see if it works as a tester.

Sorry for the noob question but I dont see where I can find the focus tool at. Is this a program or an on site uploader? Also do you use nero to cut the songs?
Edit: Found the Focus tool. Has anyone used it to send songs to a MM-8300?
Thanks for the link. Tryed one and it sounds great. I wish they had more of a selection though.

Right on the dot with the techno/trance. I did not really care for the PVD one they have.

Sounds good man. I have pretty much checked out all the AAC ringers you have made. One that I really want is Twista's song Get Me. Just a thought if you ever have time. Props on the site!
