lol...that is funny... I have seen a few newer threads for Sanyo throughout the site, but they are all over the place, but to be honest haven't read any of them because I have Samsung phones.

There is more Samsung new being posted on the boards as of late because Tuolumne loves Samsung. If he loved Sanyo as much, there would be way more Sanyo news.

Sanyo has some nice things up it's sleeve.
You didn't think the company that first implemented the cameraphone would sit back and watch their market share at Sprint wash away by the likes of Samsung, did you?

There really isn't too much surprising about Sanyo's new lineup. We just haven't seen much information about them. Here's what I know:
9000. Maybe 9040. 5600 + EV-DO.
7500.
PDA phone (probably series 60, I think.. they have a license for one of em).
Possibly a new 6xxx series phone (I've been hearing a lot about this lately).
4930.
Ooooh, and this one's new.. an 8400 will be out a year from now. :)
The reason you aren't hearing much about Sanyo (and this pains me to say this) is because they HAVEN'T come out with anything interesting in a while. Look at the new Samsungs and LGs. They are stylish and unique. The new Sanyos are rehashes of current models.

9000: 5600 + EV-DO
7500: Update to the 7400
5700: Big mama
4930: Rehashed junk with rubber sides
PDA: Bluetooth, unique form factor/design from what I've been hearing).
9040: Doesn't exist, isn't comming, End Of Story.

Sorry Tutu, this is just a HAC certification. It shows the 5600 is Hearing Aid Compatible...

Bleh...I should have known....Samsung did the same thing with the A840/820, but unlike Sanyo, specified it as such (how am I supposed to know what HAC means?).
Well, my point is, the 9000 is simply a 5600 with EV-DO...nothing more.

Tuolumne, will Samsung ever come out with another phone that has ReadyLink?
tuolumne
08-20-2005, 11:19 PM
Ready Link is a dead technology. No manufacture from this point on, sans Sanyo, will invest in a RL-only handset. With that, the A820 will have RL.

so the 9000 is a updated 5600 w/ ev-do, modified form-factor and prolly sum misc. added features. i heard talk of STT. (not that i would even use that) whats the date of its release?
tuolumne
08-21-2005, 04:29 PM
The form factor is exacally the same, and there will be no major feature updates (no Voice Signal STT, that's for sure).
Again...5700...

**If the 9000 is just a minor upgrade to the 5600 then IM DONE WITH SANYO PHONES AND BRING ON THE SAMSUNGS BABY even though the A940 wont have readylink built in. Engadget.com said that the 9000 will be a feature packed phone. We will have to wait until phonescoop has info on the 9000. If I see it on phonescoop then you will see a thread on su.com that says RED HOT ALERT!**

I think this is the first time you said something nice about Sanyo
