trust me, if you walked into a sprint store and asked someone to come to your house, you would look like a jackass (i believe that is how you put it). the ETF is waived only if you live in an area where there there is NO coverage, not no coverage by your standards, but per the system used at Sprint.

Well, a rep at a store won't go to your home. Just wait till Sept. 2nd and switch to Nextel. You shouldn't have an ETF or anything at that point.

The store can send a technician out to do a signal test. If the signal test comes back as no signal then you can get out. If you have 1 bar then you won't get out of the contract .

i would wait until the merger...cause most sprint reps don't really care when ppl say they are gonna do that (sorry to say) but we hear that about 20 times a day b/c ppl threaten to call them when we won't credit valid overage, or give them free vision etc...so many ppl have used that with us it is almost guaranteed that it won't make a difference....I would just stick it out another week, and then there are no worries (and like was posted earlier a sprint store tech can go out and see if there is a signal there, and will note the acct of the result...if the store ever refuses...call us up, and speak with the trouble dept, they can do it- whether it is one of there reps, or they send an order to the store i don't know- but they will get someone out there to test it)

1) if u have 1 bar, you have coverage
2) after sept 2nd u can switch to nextel but u have to pay activation fee's for each phone
3) you won't have to pay an ETF for any of the phones but u will have to renew 2 yr contracts
4) in a couple years you will have to come back to Sprint's CDMA network anyway so...

thanks .. but ur info doesnt seem correct .. 2) you dont have to pay the activation fee or upgrade fee u just have to buy the phones .. and 4) i dont have to come to sprints cdma i can go to gsm .. theres more carriers not only sprint ..

well actually, you do have to pay an activation fee if u switch over to the iDen network from CDMA and if u want to go to another carrier (besides sprint nextel) than you would still be charged an activation fee and the phones so the same thing applies. either way, you have to pay an activation fee and switch over to a different network...

At that point, customers who would like to switch services between the Nationwide Sprint PCS Network (CDMA) and the Nextel National Network (IDEN) and will not be charged an early termination fee, activation fee or upgrade fee.
Straight from the New Sprint website .. so ur not a sprint know it all .. afterwards .. peace
I've been informed that... if you seriously want to get out of a contract, you simply just have to fine an AREA that there is no phone service and claim you are moving there but everything is under one cap now, so you should be okay...

You were informed wrong. You can't just say "I"m moving here and you have no service". It doesn't work that way, not to mention that's fraud.

true but if you have to have an address and it has to be on the acct as well. Thats per policy , butof course you have those reps that will just x cel without a problem...
