View Full Version : Has anyone received free SMS (even the 100 sms plan)?

I was wondering whether anyone has received free SMS messages as part of their plan.

My plan is as follows:
$30/month for 600 min
unlimited n/w and unlimited pcs-pcs
21% discount with NVP hospital program

I don't even care that i have the 9pm weekends, but i do want to use the SMS feature. I cannot seem to get it added for free, but they keep insisting that I resign a contract for other benefits, which they won't specify. So right now, i have been off of contract for 1 year.

Is there a way to add it, i just want the 100 sms plan/month without paying $5 more each month.

After 7/7, can you say ... S-C-R-E-W-E-D??? Ya, they nuked that option after that date. I am trying to get free SMS for a contract renewal and Sprint goes ... N-O-W-A-Y!!! Tough cookies!!!

it's going to be hard getting freebees from sprint because the amount you are spending with them every month. usually the customers who have plans with a higher dollar amount can negotiate more perks.

:irked: I even signed a new contract for free 7pm and free pcs to pcs but they would NOT budge on texts. She said there might be a code for it but she had to have a code to get THAT code. (huh?) oh well...

ya there is absolutly nothing for us to work with when it comes to text (or rl). And the vision plan that included the 100 free texts (like they said earlier) was nuked back in July!

What? There are no more text messages included with Vision plans anymore? Hot Damn! I didn't realize that...

nope... if u have one of the older plans (from before July) then it still includes them, but the new codes don't have them (bonus with that is the premium package is now only $10 instead of $15 with the pictures package.)

I still get 100 TXT messages with my Visions plan. I guess I was grand fathered in. When did Sprint remove this option? How much is the new TXT packages?

Unlimited SMS was given to me for free cuz CS couldnt help me look up a phone number I dailed a few days prior. I dont even use 1/4 of the 100 SMS that came with my plan. I'd rather have free RL or free roaming or something. I think they only give you services for free if you dont use them.

Dude look at your own plan. You got everything free plus 20% discount and you're still *****ing about a $5 SMS fee? I'll tell you what man, I'll trade all my lines in my account for all of your lines in your account. That way you can have the free SMS that I dont use.

Basically, paying $50/mo, then minus all the discounts. Hey, $5/mo is $5/mo ... that's another meal at the local pub!

Hey, $5/mo is $5/mo ... that's another meal at the local pub! See this is where you have answer your own question. What's more important? being able to eating a meal once a month at a local pub or unlimited SMS. Next time you're at local pub staring down at a sanwitch and a drink, take your phone out and put it next to the plate and think to yourself. Is this meal, that'll last only 8 hours, worth unlimited SMS that I can play with the whole month.
