Does anyone have unlimited text messaging for free?

If so how did you get it? Do you know the code I can call in and get it? Is it a charge and then a credit or free all together?

I don't believe you can get it for free, atleast not if you don't have a bill well over $100.

I just tried to get it with no luck.. but I really need it so I'm forced to pay for it now.

I have it for free, it was offered to me when I called a few weeks ago. It's a 0.00 charge on my account for me.

People who are grandfathered in with older Vision plans also receive it free. I signed up for Vision before Sprint had true SMS, so I am grandfathered to receive unlimited texting with my Vision.

Really? That's awesome! What did you do to get it for free? Ask a CSR out???

You sure it wasn't just for a month or two? It was offered to me last month but it expired after a month.

LoL No, I didn't have to ask the CSR out. I had called to ask a question, and after she answered it she said that she could add unlimited texts to my account for free. I asked if it was the one month trial thing they were doing and she said no. I E-mailed them also, and they confirmed it is free for the whole time I'm with Sprint. I just got lucky :D

thepartydj: Others have said that they once gave out their phone number for another user/person to use to show that a code is valid or for whatever reason and their account got really screwed up. So for that reason, I won't do it. Sorry

I have it free also but it was grandfathered on all the lines per my old vision plan...other than a poster in this thread, I have never heard of anyone getting it for free that was not entitled to it per an old plan, and even many of them only get 100 texts a month...most reps will tell you the code does not even exist anymore...while it apparently does, it is probably hard to find and apply...unless you are on a high end plan, you are going to have a difficult time convincing a rep to hook you up unless you get really lucky like Flood...

Ya. I was even willing to sign a 2-year agreement for free SMS. The rep that wrote back said noway. Maybe I'll try in December when the contract to my main line expires. By that time, I think the Sprint/Nextel merger/integration thing should be well on its way.

I just upgraded to the unlimited today..and found out I was only being charged $2.50 for the 100 plan! *** (I just got the 100 plan last month so it should have been $5).

Weird... now I'm a little upset I switched.

Sprint:
"I have gone ahead and added the $10.00 Unlimited Text Messaging option
to your plan. I have also removed the $2.50 Text Messaging option from
your plan."

The 2.50 might have just been your prorated rate.

I was on the free vision/sms trial and called to cancel. I was offered the Pictures Pack (usually $15) for $10 and then that also allowed the CSR to add unlimited sms for $5.

The CSR said that the $10 Pictures Pack had everything the multimedia pack had except Sprint TV. She did say that I would not have the $5 download credit, but from reading other posts I am not sure if that is correct.

I even had it verified with eCare and the only difference between that and the Multimedia Pack I had on my month trial would be Sprint TV.

Along with the main phone having the Pictures Pack for $10 and unlimited sms for $5, my add a phone now has the Pictures Pack for $5 and the unlimited sms for $5

Hmm yeah now that I think about it I was probably still on the free one month trial for the first half of the month.

I'm also grandfathered in with old Vision. Too bad my phone doesn't send SMS messages!

I have the old $5 unlimited text...I dont mind paying for it since I use about 2000 a month. I just added my girlfriend to my line and got her unlimted text for $2.50!! I was pretty happy about that, I thought I was gonna have to pay full price for vision and text, but they gave it to me for half off.

I hope you did get it 1/2 off. Before I finally got it for $5 on both phones, I was told that it was $2.50 on both phones. Found out they did that by making it 100 sms on each phone. :(

oh ya, I made sure!! in fact I was canceling the MM pack and going back to just the pictures pack, then adding pictures to my new phone. The rep said that since I canceled the MM pack that I got just 2 weeeks ago that they would be charging me $10 and $5 respectively for text...I told her NO that I had always paid $5 for it and there was no reason to change it otherwise...she typed loudly for a few then said that it would be $5 and $2.50. Overall I was satisfied...

My GF was on t-mobile before and was paying over $70 a month for everything, now we share and our total bill is just over $100. I really did it to save her some money.

I have the same thing and I don't have the $5 credit anymore. I noticed when I purchased a game that it didn't get credited so I emailed them and they said that I no longer had the $5 credit. Funny because before they offered me Vision Picture Pack for $10, I was asking if I could get it at that price and was willing to lose the $5 credit but they said there was no way to do that. Now that I got it for $10 it would've been nice if they told me that...lol.
