MOD: THERE IS ANOTHER THREAD ABOUT THIS HERE (http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=72376), HOWEVER, THE TITLE DOES NOT SERVE THE THREAD'S PURPOSE - please allow users to post here (or change the other thread's title to include "unlocking Treo 650") Thank you!
I'm still looking for a way to use the phone through Sprint - NOT setting up an Earthlink account.
Someone in the other (MosaicNate) stated "It's an MVNO on Sprint's network... You'll have to use it w/ the Earthlink subsidary though... You won't have a way around this..."
Can anyone confirm? Also, as I am trying to use this with Sprint, has anyone sucessfully unlocked this phone?
I found the following link...does it look legit?
http://www.uneasysilence.com/how-to...o-unlocked-gsm/
Thanks for the help all. I purchased the phone from Office Max today, but am going to wait and do some research before I start trying to unlock. If it doesn't look like it works consistantly, I am going to have to take it back.
ALSO, A GENERAL QUESTION: Would unlocking this phone still allow for updates in firmware in the future?
Thanks again.
