I've had the phone for a few months, and just recently it has been randomly power cycling. It doesn't seem to be caused by any specific action. It's gotten even worse within the past few days - it will powercycle, then as its starting back up it will powercycle again! There is no damage of any kind to the phone. Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm guessing you've reset it? If so and it's a no-go, well... you got a lemon, man. I'd call Sprint soon and see what your options are.
I don't think that I have ever seen a Sprint phone. that didnt powercycle...it seems to be a problem with all of them, regardless of the manufacture...

Contrary to ^^
My 5500 did all the time
My 535 does when you try to exceed 25 AAC ringers, and so will your sons.

My 7300 hasn't, my 5400 did it maybe once. A friend's 660 did it, but every few days.

If I were the manufacturer, I'd probably write it into the software to powercycle once a day. Phones *seem* to work better when you do that.

Get out of denial. His a800 is obviously defective. Imagine that, a defective, buggy Samsung. Which A800 are you on Tutu? Oh yeah, you're on your third.
I would take the phone to the Sprint store and see if they can order you a new one. If not, get another phone, like the LG 535.
Funny how power-cycling is something I have only witnessed on Samsung phones....Hmmmmm....

Haven't had any problems yet with my A800. Hopefully Sprint stores can order warranty replacements by now?

Quick question, does sprint still insure their phones for 1 year no matter where they were purchased? Just wondering if something were to go wrong with my a800 (non-abuse related malfunction) would they replace it for me? I do not have insurance either. I had a 5500 that just stopped charging one day and they replaced it with a brand new one on the spot but I had bought it from a sprint store originally.

I have a 5600 that was doing the same thing. it turned out to be the batt. you may want to try that first.

So Tutu, why didn't you answer the question? Are you capable of being honest about your phone? I never said there was a perfect manufacturer. I just stated facts. Too bad you have a problem with facts. I have never seen anything but Samsung phones power cycle by themselves. It's a known Samsung "feature".
Again, how many A800s have you gone through?

One. But you didn't learn that either

You and others on this forum have said you are on your third...Are you saying this isn't a buggy phone?

And how many people have no doubt in their minds that I am a woman?
Anyways, this thread is going in the wrong direction... :fingers:
I haven't had my A800 powercycle, and if you have, take it to the store. You might also want to try a options reset that is in the security menu...

Interesting...I never said anything about you being a woman, and you are still dodging answering the question directly. Didn't you have quite a fit over the A800 shortcomings awhile back?
Like I said in the first post in this thread, take it back! You're the one who wants to ignore and excuse anything your beloved Samsung does, not me.

Get over myself? If I am capable? That is hilarious coming from you of all people...

You know what, that's enough. Stop it here, if I was a mod I would. We are NOT in middle school here people (well, I dunno some of you might actually be in middle school), but act and behave like adults on this forum. I'm sick of reading your negatory posts towards tuo on this forum, tuo is a samsung fanboi, everybody knows it and he got some heat for it a while back. Since then tuo's been helpful in posting pictures and information about new and upcoming samsung phones which everybody on this forum has appreciated (like with the A940/970). He's been quite a bit less fanboi-ish on SU, stopped saying things about other phones, etc.
You, however, are now doing the same exact thing about Samsung that he did about Sanyo a while back. And you're just acting like a kid, in almost every thread tuo posts in you have to find some reason to point out that he's on his 2nd or 3rd A800. Why?
Power cycling is not a "known Samsung 'feature'" as you say. My A800 and quite a few others have never done that in the time we've had them.

:good: You don't need to be a mod, to have common sense.
This stops now...
From here on, no more "heated" conversations........just the original topic.
