Help with Focus & LG PM 225

Hi.

I'm having trouble getting a homemade ringtone to my phone using Focus. The conversion to .qcp and the upload went fine, but when I go to download it from my phone I get the initiating screen, then a 906 Invalid Descriptor / Malformed Descriptor error. I click on confirm then get taken to the Vision home page.

Any Ideas?

I followed the instructions in the tutorial here on how to make ringtones. I converted with WinAmp, cut the file down with Sound Recorder, used PVConverter, then used the tool on the site to message the file to my phone. When I open the message and press "go", it says "initiating" then "Error Occurred. 906 Invalid Descriptor, Malformed Descriptor" and I can't download it. What should I do?

I know I got the text right, because I went and stole don blay's gcd text from files that had worked on my phone.

I ended up using rumkin's uploader for the ringtone. The image isn't working in .gif, .jpg, .jpeg, or .png file formats....

Rumkin.com will resolve this issue. They have an uploader that will work. From Rumkin.com FAQ..........

What is "Data Error 906 / Invalid Descriptor"?

The error means that your GCD file is not 100% perfect. Look for answers in the Data Error 905 FAQ topic and in the GCD section.

If you are using this uploader, you should never see error 906.

doesn't work. at least not for images. there is something going on on sprint's end. and it may only be a problem for the 225. rumkin, nor any other uploader, won't send images properly to the 225 right now.

It's working for me. I've been uploading crazy. I've also tried "funformobile.com" and it's working fine. Make sure the file names are correct (i've tried .jpg files and those do not work, but once i changed it to .jpeg, it was fine)

Edit: I was wrong, here's how you do it.

Save the file as a 128x160 pixel jpeg (name it jpeg, not jpg, with no spaces or dashes or anything).

Upload it at www.funformobile.com, but here's the trick, choose the LG PM-325 as your phone.

Worked fine for me.

great workaround! i've been trying to upload pics for days now with no luck. whatever the problem is it'll probably never get fixed.

I've been using the programs :Sound Recorder,Pure Voice and Mp3Decode and I've been able to create and use my ringtones just fine.When I used winamp I had problems...so it might be the programs you are using that are causing the problems.
