Animation?

:indiff: alrite, ive asked this same question in a diffrent part of the forum here, and never got a direct and clear answer, or at least one that was worth payin attention too, no1 seemed to kno exactly wut they were talkin about. So i figured let me ask again! I have a sanyo 8200, i want to put an ANIMATED screen saver on my display. I kno this IS possible i jus want to kno if ANYONE KNOWS how to do this? I need someone with prior EXPERIENCE with ACTUALLY DOING THIS and seeings RESULTS on a phone, to respond. Please, NO ONE respond with "i THINK's" or, "TRY"....ive had enough of those and NONE worked!! Please- AGAIN...ONLY LEGITAMENT RESPONSES FROM PEOPLE WHO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT!! no guessin games...PLEASE.....?

Well that's a complicated question and not a simple answer.
The technical answer is YES, you can download animated images onto your phone. But the tricky part is the file format. Most Sprint phones do NOT support the "internet-standard" animated gif file format. Instead they use a mainly proprietary format of PDM files. There was a program listed here on the forums before the can help you convert them. the problem was the program was in Japanese originally; there was some work done to convert some menus to English. I can’t seem to find the thread that talked about it the English translated version anymore. I think you can find it at http://www.geocities.com/c_reckles/KTPIC118ENG.zip but since I’m at work I haven’t tried out the download.
Now as far as using them as screen savers, you cannot use them as normal screen savers on the 8200. That phone does support animations, but only for specific events; such as looking for service, incoming calls, etc. It will not show an animated file as the normal background.

Since these PMD files are hard to make (and they have to be specially sized for your screen) they are not readily available on the internet. Not many sites have them, and those who do might not have ones to fit your screen.

well as donblay said, you cant have animated wallpapers. but you can animated screensavers. i got the water drop and night cruise screen savers. go to downloads, then screen savers and go to search and type animated, then you will see all the animated screensavers they have available....

Well in that case you won't be able to do that. I heard the samsung pm 740 does that.

That makes me question... The animated screens are the ones that are like the little bear o the one that goes with the disco ringer that comes with the phone? I want to make or get some more of those two types.
