Hi,
I really hate the universal adapter as they always seem to break over time, and before that happens I would like to make the swith to using the old school flat connector to charge up the phone.
The 535 has another slot, but I'm not sure if thats exlusive for data transmission, anyone know if there is a charger for that?
Thanks,
DRook

I tried my dad's lg vx8000 charger, it does work in the data port. I just don't know if the phone was designed it to be used as a charging port.

Just once, i used his data cable before i ordered mine so i had the bright idea of trying his home charger. I thought it would just be good to know if it worked, we take business trips together and i liked to know if i forgot my charger i think i could get away with using his

Cool,
On ebay I saw a Data Cable / Travel Charger / Car Charger for around 11 or 12bucks shipped.
What do you use the data cable for? Can you use the phone as a modem?
Thanks for you info.

I use it to sync contacts mostly. But it does make it easier for quick picture transfers. It can be used as a modem, which i do sometimes on trips sometimes just to read email and maybe the news, but not often. Ive only been able to transfer contacts with DataPilot.

I bought a car charger on ebay that uses the data port to charge. I believe that the charging port is something that Sprint has mandated as it's universal to their newer phones. If you get this phone from a non-Sprint vendor, I'm willing to bet it woulnd not have the little power jack.

If you look on Amazon you will find a data cable (Retractable) plus a USB charger all in one. You can use it to transfer file and charge the phone. That is what I used on my old Sanyo and I just purchased it. Hopefully it will arrive soon.
