I had a quick one...My friend has the samsung MM-A700, and everytime I send her a text (or anyone that sends her one for that matter), she gets a text from "unknown" giving her a link to get the text online, which I guess is the old hideous shortmail system. Now I had a 700 and my texts always came as an SMS in my inbox....Does anyone know why she might be getting the shortmail notification, as opposed to the text message in her inbox?

Have her log into her SprintPCS.com account. Have her make sure the settings under the "Text Messaging" section are all set to SMS. I'm not sure if this will do it though. Give it a shot.

Sadly, that didn't work....Any other suggestions?

She needs to call sprint and explain what's going on. It is fixable, just may take a few calls. Took me calling three calls to get it fixed. It's a known problem...at least here on the boards, (search will turn up other threads) sometimes you got to wonder about Sprint, but it can be fixed.

SprintUsers.com was created in January 2002 as a resource for users of Sprint PCS products and services to learn about and share information. We have cll phone reviews, Cellular Accessories, Downloads, PDA reviews, Ringtones, all of the latest Sprint PCS news and information, an area where you can find help in creating a ring tone or custom image for you phone, and so much more. The most popular section is the message board where visitors can read and write messages, ask questions, and get advice about their cellular phone from other users.
