It appears that Sprint has decided to manage users' data usage for them by deliberately dropping persistent data connections...
You are warned!

Mine is fine. Are you saying this just because you are experiencing problems with your connection, or do you have some sort of memo or other facts from Sprint that back up your statement?

Doesn't Sprint do that anyway? Like when using Mulitmedia service, it will ask you if you're still there, if so click a button or it will disconnect you.
I would think it's to better manage the bandwidth, if you aren't actually using the connection.

Wirelessly posted (Vm 4050: Mozilla/4.0 (MobilePhone MM-5600/US/1.0) NetFront/3.1 MMP/2.0)
I remember my old AOL 2.O used to do the same thing.

:ot: WHen you use AOL as dial up it'll ask. If you're using 2.5 on, and connect via TCP/IP then it wont ask. You can connect as long as you want.

I know that for some phones that unless there is constant activity that you will be disconnected.
The best bet would to use the "ping www.sprintpcs.com -t" command in the command prompt.
SprintUsers.com was created in January 2002 as a resource for users of Sprint PCS products and services to learn about and share information. We have cll phone reviews, Cellular Accessories, Downloads, PDA reviews, Ringtones, all of the latest Sprint PCS news and information, an area where you can find help in creating a ring tone or custom image for you phone, and so much more. The most popular section is the message board where visitors can read and write messages, ask questions, and get advice about their cellular phone from other users.
