Hey all,
I had a few questions about usb data cables before I went out and got one.

1) Can you use the data cable to transfer games and other downloads from phone to pc and vice versa?... I know you can definetly transfer ringtones and pictures, but what about downloads such as games, applications, and screensavers?

2) What brand of cable should I look for? Anything that is "more compatible" with my sanyo 8200?

3) What software should I use to manage/control the usb phone connection?.... Ive only heard of snapsync so far?... any others that are "better" out there?

We have three :) PM-8200s and id like to be able to share games, ringtones, applications, and pictures among all of them....

please help me out if u can answer any of these questions!

thanks in advance!

I started with futuredial data cable and software from radioshack but found that my bat went dead quick so I bought a data cable off ebay that is the same cable but charges also. It came with a cd with transfer software ring tones games and wallpaper.
Also you can use the cable in winxp without any of the software just by downloading the drivers from futuredial in the dl section. transfer works both ways so enjoy.

Hi, I'm new to all this stuff, so please bear with my dumb questions! I have a Samsung vi660, and I'm wondering if what you're talking about here will work with my phone, or is it just for the sanyo? (Or can I do this with my phone at all?) I'd appreciate any info!

1. I have had no luck with transfering games and applications. I believe it is a Sanyo thing. I use pitpim and that brings the sceensavers over.

2. No idea, I got mine with a phone I bought, however I have heard not to use the cables with chargers in them as they will fry your phone or something, not sure, just what I heard.

3. Like I said, I use pitpim. If you do a search for it in google it comes up first.

Hope that was useful, and if anyone else has info about transfering games, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

I believe that "ainthere" meant "bitpim", instead of "pitpim." Bitpim can be downloaded free at http://www.bitpim.org/. Some say it's great, but I'm having trouble with my usb port being unavailable. As long as you don't have a similar situation, you should be able to upload/download ringers, pictures, contacts, wallpapers, and calendar info. Games and applications are not available, I think, because most people do not have the legal right to upload/download those. Hope this helps!
