I've searched all over to find a way to check my gmail on my phone and I found www.gmailwireless.com I registered and they sent me an email link for confirmation to my gmail account. That was done. I texted the link to my phone and I accessed it from my phone. Everything looks fine. I entered my gmail screen name and password. It took me to a email looking page instantly (no internet activity at all and it looked fishy) with "Inbox()" "Starred()" "Sent()" "Drafts()" "All()" "Spam()" "Trash()" and that was all. No Gmail logo or anything. I clicked on the "Inbox()" and it took me to a blank page with "Compose" "Summary" "Logout" on it. It didnt show any of my old mails. I thought hmm maybe its is beta stage and it doesnt show read mails so I emailed myself a new mail. I recheck the the mail again from my phone and still the same. I think I better change my password. Does anyone have any experience with www.gmailwireless.com ???

i would assume the 5600 could just go straight to www.gmail.com , sorry if you've tried this but i'm just surprised it wouldn't work since it works great on my a800 and everyone raves about how much better the 5600's browser is.

If it is not a Google domain, you are trusting that site with your account info.
Until Google puts up a WAP version, forward your mail to another account you CAN access on the phone, like Yahoo or MSN.
I'd change my password if anything private or mission-critical depends on that account...

And yes I've changed my password 5 minutes after I've messed with it.
I can access http://gmail.com from my a700 with no problem.

a lot of people use this. i use it. i can't say for certain if it's totally safe or not, but i'm not sweating it. it's part of a the gmail-mobile project at sourceforge. i think it's pretty legit personally. you can read more about it at http://gmailwireless.com/ or http://sourceforge.net/projects/gmail-mobile/

Google isn't exactly an evil company. They may be aware of it for all we know.

I use the gmailwireless.com one and it seems to work fine for me. It does look really generic on the phone but it gets the job done. Not sure why your emails aren't showing up but I will say that the first time logging in was a chore. But after it finally went through correctly, it has worked perfectly since.

Have used Gmailwireless for several months here with no problems other than sometimes staying logged in when I've logged out.
But it seems you're not the only one with the () problem:

...with all due respect, Jaime...the mark of a good hack is that the subject never notices it...
I'm not saying that gmailwireless is a hack...I am saying that NO ONE gets my password

As a thought, for anyone that is a little skeptical about this as I am as well, just send yourself an invite to create a new account, open that new account and pick something totally different and then use that new account to access this neat little new service until you are satisfied enough to utilize your normal gMail account. Just a thought and an idea. Cause either way, if sh*t hits the ceiling with this service, then you are not at a loss.
