Are any of you also getting the No caller id problem... the calls come in w/ the caller id and then after like a sec it stops ringing and then rings with caller id... this is my second phone, is this a problem with the phone or am i just unlucky?

I haven't had this problem--- or any of the myriad of other problems a lot of people seem to be having with their A800's. Luck, I guess.

Nope, don't have this one. The ones I've been having are:

- if the phone is closed and you're looking through picture thumbnails, and the phone goes into power-save mode, when you press a button to get the screen back on one half of the screen will be your thumbnails, and the other half will be a static-y, corrupt idle screen. only way to fix is to power cycle.

- more often than not when I go to add a Task, the date shows up as 00/00/0000 when it should automatically enter today's date, and I end up having to type the whole date manually (THIS one is AGGRAVATING)

- when i enter a symbol using EziCrap, such as an apostrophe (since in the phone's dictionary there is no such thing as a contraction, dammit) Ezi will stop working, leaving me to finish the rest of the message using standard alpha-tapping.

Boo.

Mine started acting flakey today. EziTap remains, BY FAR, my biggest gripe with this handset. I do a LOT of SMS, and the fact it now takes me a minute or two to do what used to take literally just three or four seconds is a real pain in the rear end.

I'm still within my 14 day return-or-cancel window and I'm not sure if I want to lose the #777 connectivity and go with the 5600, or just drop Sprint altogether and try again later when there's a better handset assortment.

I thought I would return my A800 during the first few days, but after getting used to all the nice features I couldn't do it. EziTap is a huge pain though, I switched to IMFORWARDS.COM for AIM so I could use the Voice Signal technology to speak messages... it is pretty good once you get used to it. Are you able to use that?

this might be a stupid question... but what does #777 do?

#777 is the number you set your computer to dial when you have your phone hooked up with a data cable, to get 'net access over your phone.
