Yeah, it's true. Depending on the store, you will more than likely get a $75 Mail-In Rebate for current customers.

maybe it depends on the sprint rep and what phone your getting.
i called the store by me and told them i wanted the 8300 and they told me 75 instant and 75 mail in. and if my phone looks good they will buy it for 50 bucks. i have had my phone for 14 months.

i spoke with a rep. yesterday..about adding a feature to my account and she told me in december i would be eligible for a 150 dollar rebate..and as of right now i am eligible for a 75 dollar rebate..so i said that i will wait and use it twards a newer phone...maybe..i thought it would be instant also..i didnt know it would be a send in rebate...

I don't get the big deal about an instant vs. mail-in rebate. Either way, you'll get your $$. Just 8-10 weeks later :P

I suppose if you don't have much in your wallet in the first place then it matters. I really don't care as long as I get the rebate

heres what Email CS replied with....

Thank you for giving me an opportunity to assist you in regard to $75
rebate.
The instant rebate can only be availed on the activation of new line of
service or by new customers. We offer the mail in rebate to our
existing customers as we want to maintain the database of the customers
availing it. This will help us to send certain specific promotions to
them. We continually strive to promote new plans and offers for them.
When the instant rebate is availed the database is not maintained.

I am sure to have clarified the issue.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with.

I could have swore with the new rules after July 6th or whenever it was that we got an instant tho....

I agree all rebates should be INSTANT!!! Whats the difference to them? Either way they give $$ off.....

I don't know what customer care told you and why the guy in store told you it is a mail in but it is NOT. Not in the corporate market anyway. It is $75 instant rebate if you renew on a 2 yr plan and have had your phone b/w 12-23 months. Check the website at sprintpcs.com...it even says instant. I work in a store and have been doing them all week.

Go to the website and print out the page that shows that you are eligible for $75 instant rebate. All you have to do is put in your phone # and zip code. It is a $75 instant rebate...trust me...unless you are in an affliate market. But I would think Chicago is corporate.

Good thinking Thanks! I will try that.
